Chapter 42: Followed From Distance
Williams POV
“__He wanted to manhandle you." I said, completing my sentence.
Amelia rolled her eyes.
" Why will I let him touch you? He does not have any right to do so.”
" I see. So you feel you're the one with the right to touch me?” I asked. Hey hand was still on my chest. “You still have to calm down." She said with a low bit soothing voice.
I was just beyond control and furious, trying all I can to know who the guy is. He doesn't have any right to touch her like that. I was actually beyond calm.
Just then, I noticed John's face was red with anger. His eyes were flashing with hatred. What was surprising was that this guy didn't know me before. Why was he acting this way?
“I see, you're a psycho." John said.
My first clenched as he said that and I took a step forward. " What are you planning on doing?” Amelia said, while still placing her hand on my chest. It was a way of stopping me from attacking John.
I tried to calm down, taking a deep breath. I felt it wasn't worth it. But just looking at John I knew he was up to something. Why did he approach Amelia, it was definitely not a good intention.
“You can leave now, you don't have to deal with this." Amelia said.
I turned to face her. “What? Should I leave? I can't leave you here with this guy.” I said, my eyes locked on John.
But Amelia wants me gone. She prefers being with a stranger instead of having me around. Looking at John, I could feel his eyes boring into my skin. I was ready for whatever he was up to, knowing fully well that this was not the last I was going to see of him.
I turned to leave since that was what she wanted but to my surprise she went back into the cafe with John. That was not making any sense to me. Was she doing all of this to make me upset?
I stood at the entrance of the shop, I needed to see what John was up to. I thought it'd be a good idea if I didn't make it obvious that I was still around.
Just then, Amelia walked out of the cafe. She noticed I was still standing there. She rolled her eyes then walked towards my direction. “So what are you still standing here doing?"
“I told you before that I wasn't leaving here without you."
Amelia but her lips. “That's why I like you. Let's go to your house."
“My house? I thought you don't like coming over. And my mom, I don't want her to do anything bad to you."
“You don't have to worry, let's go."
I was surprised Amelia has just confessed her feelings for me and now she wants to follow me home at all means. How was I going to tell her I left home?
“I'm sorry I didn't tell you about this, but I moved into your neighborhood." I said with a low tone.
“You're joking right?" She asked.
" What if I am not? I just moved in yesterday.”
"You moved in because you wanted to live close to me? Why didn't you tell me all this while? I should have left home with my bags."
I raised my eyebrows. “What do you mean?"
“Yeah, what I mean is that am happy you're leaving in my neighborhood. I grew up there and I've always loved to stay there. Now that you're also there, I'd love to be with you."
“What? You should at least ask for my approval. You can't just decide on that on your own." I muttered.
"You want me to go back in, and meet the young man that approached me huh”
"Nah, I won't let you do that.” I said, smiling.
“I guess we're cool this way then. You came here with your legs?"
“Yeah, I had to run after the bus so I could catch up with you." I said, smiling. Amelia was everything I needed in a woman. She has a nice smile and a good heart. I stared at her for a while. I watched her blush shyly. “So you won't be mean to me again huh?"
“If I'm not mean to you, who would I be mean to? That's not gonna happen." She said, laughing.
She held me hands still smiling, just then John walked out of the cafe. “So this is the ban you rejected me for. He's not even up to my league." John said.
“Do you read the newspapers? Or you don't watch the news on TV I guess." Amelia said.
“Nah, it's obvious he doesn't also have a social media life." I said, laughing.
“This young man you're seeing, standing right here with me is Willing Taylor. Does the name ring a bell? This is the son of the late CEO of the biggest company in the state."
John was speechless for a while before he finally spoke up. “That's not possible."
“Oh, really? See this." Amelia brought out her phone, showing him a picture of me. “Does it ring a bell now?"
He rolled his eyes, unsure of what to say. I actually expected that.
"So this is my man, anywhere you see him avoid him. For your safety.”
" I think you should listen to her little advice, for your own good.” I muttered.
“You will hear from me soon. Just make sure you watch out." John said before walking away.
“Why are there weird people around here? You should be careful, I won't let you come here alone next time."
"Well, I will watch out as he has said.” She laughed.
" I was surprised you defended me in his presence. You should do that often.”
She rolled her eyes, with a look, don't tell me what to do. “Let's wait for the last bus."
I held her hand. “There's no need for that, my car is parked right there.” I said, pointing at the car from a distance.
“You actually walked behind me from there, so you won't be noticed.”
" Yeah, I wasn't sure how you'd react if you saw me following you. I had to be careful.” I muttered.
“I guess you were careful and that's why you managed to come this far. But don't do that again.”
" Why do you say that?”
" Sometimes I will need my privacy. You should respect that.” Amelia said.
I saw the seriousness in her face, then I knew she wasn't joking. Yeah, I get it, she needs to have her privacy sometimes, stalking her won't help me achieve what I really want with her.
