Chapter 93 | Forgetting the incident

Chapter 93 | Forgetting the incident
Dexson listened to Evelyn's explanation about Caroline's condition. If Caroline's mental illness could endanger her life.

"Do you have a way to cure Caroline?" asked Dexson with a frustrated look on his face.

He didn't want anything bad to happen to Caroline, especially if he had to lose her.

"Don't let your wife have serious problems that trigger her brain to remember frightening events from her past. Make your wife always feel happy and forget her problems," replied Evelyn.

"That is the only way to prevent your wife's mental condition from getting worse," she continued.

"Okay. I understand," replied Dexson with a sigh.

"Is your wife in a bad condition because of her ex-husband?" asked Kael.

"Maybe, I'm not sure yet. I'm still investigating it," Dexson replied softly.

"So you don't know why your wife is like this?" said Evelyn.

"I'm moving too slowly, and Caroline hasn't fully opened up to me yet," said Dexson, looking at Caroline.

Kael patted Dexson's shoulder gently, understanding how he felt.

"You have to act quickly, before your wife's condition gets worse." Dexson nodded in agreement.

Dexson would certainly not let Caroline's condition get worse. He would do everything he could to cure her.

"When Caroline regains consciousness, will she be like she was before? Doing reckless things that endanger her own life without realizing it?" asked Dexson, wanting to be sure.

"You don't need to worry. I've given Caroline the best medicine. She will regain consciousness and won't do anything that will endanger herself again," replied Evelyn with a smile.

"All right. Thank you," said Dexson.

"But you must remember my advice, because her illness could recur at any time and could be difficult to control," Evelyn warned.

"I understand. I will also continue to try to make Caroline happy and forget all her problems," Dexson muttered.

"Do your best for your wife. I'm sure she's a strong woman and can fight it," Evelyn encouraged Dexson so that he wouldn't dwell too much on his sadness.

"She is a strong woman," said Dexson with a soft laugh.

"I've also given you some medicine. Give it to Caroline before she goes to bed." Dexson nodded in response.

"Maybe after your wife wakes up, she will feel confused and forget what happened a few days ago. That's the effect of the medicine, so don't be surprised," said Evelyn.

"Okay. Thank you," replied Dexson.

Kael and Evelyn had already left Caroline's house. Dexson had no intention of sleeping; he was still afraid that what happened earlier would happen again.

"I'll stay here with you," Dexson said softly, rubbing Caroline's back.

A few hours later, Caroline woke up from her faint. She saw Dexson asleep in a sitting position next to her bed.

"Dexson, what are you doing? Why are you sleeping in a sitting position on the floor?" Caroline asked with a puzzled expression.

Dexson was shocked to hear Caroline's voice, but he was glad that Caroline had regained consciousness.

"Caroline must not remember what happened," Dexson muttered to himself.

"I didn't realize it either. Why was I sleeping on the floor in a sitting position?" Dexson said, scratching his head even though it wasn't itchy.

"Did I accidentally kick you and make you fall? But you didn't realize it, and neither did I." Dexson laughed at Caroline's words.

"Maybe, but don't worry about it. I could have done it unconsciously," replied Dexson, gently stroking Caroline's cheek.

"Okay," said Caroline.

"Dexson, what time is it now? I suddenly feel very hungry," asked Caroline.

"It's 3:00 a.m. Do you want something to eat? I'll make it for you," said Dexson.

"No need, I'll make it myself. I usually wake up early to make breakfast," said Caroline with a chuckle.

Dexson was silent. He couldn't tell Caroline that she had just recovered from her grudge. Evelyn had forbidden him to bring up things that Caroline had already forgotten.

"But it's still too early, Caroline. So let me cook for you," said Dexson.

Caroline smiled slightly, touched by Dexson's attention.

"Okay, I'll make breakfast later," said Caroline.

Caroline couldn't bear to see Dexson cook in the early morning just for her. Especially since Dexson had to work the next day.

"Don't hold back if you're hungry. It's okay if I have to cook for you, don't feel awkward around me," said Dexson.

"But, Dexson. You'll get tired, especially since you have to work later," said Caroline softly.

"I won't be tired, because after that I can relax," he continued.

"I'm not working tomorrow," replied Dexson, surprising Caroline.

Dexson didn't dare to go to work after what happened. He even took a few months off and entrusted his personal assistant to take care of the company.

"Why is that? Isn't tomorrow a holiday? Did something happen to your company?" asked Caroline with a worried look on her face.

"Relax, everything is fine. My company is also fine," replied Dexson, rubbing Caroline's shoulder.

"I'm just taking a day off because I have important business with a friend. He asked for my help, so I'm not going to work first," explained Dexson.

Caroline sighed in relief upon hearing Dexson's explanation.

"Thank goodness nothing happened to your company," Caroline replied.

"If something did happen, you have to tell me. You understand? I will definitely help you according to our contract agreement," she continued firmly.

"Okay, I understand. Now everything is safe and under control," said Dexson with a chuckle.

Caroline, who heard that, smiled slightly.

"Caroline, I'm on vacation for a long time. Do you want to have fun with me again?" Dexson asked to confirm.

"Sure. Where do you want to take me?" Caroline replied enthusiastically. Her face looked very happy when Dexson said that.

"How about we go horseback riding and then go to a special playground tomorrow so you can play whatever you want there," Dexson suggested.

"Really?" Caroline said enthusiastically, her face beaming with joy.

"Of course. Do you want to?" Dexson asked.

"I won't say no, Dexson. I've wanted to do that for a long time," Caroline said with a laugh.

"Thank you. You've made me happy," she continued, to which Dexson replied with a slight smile.

"I'm happy if you're happy," Dexson said as he stroked Caroline's head.

"It turns out that making Caroline happy is easy. She can be happy with the simple things she's always wanted," Dexson said to himself as he looked at Caroline.
