Chapter 84 You Will All Pay For This!
Chapter Eighty-Five
Debra stood shell shocked as Aria gave her a little smirk.
Of course, she knew Nathan would abandon his little minion if she pushed hard enough, and she only had to threaten to tear off his mask and everything came tumbling out.
If Debra reveals that Nathan was the one who actually told her to do everything she did to Aria, it would ruin Nathan’s image of the perfect, kind and compassionate boss.
Who was also a just one.
The employees were sad to see Debra being fired because one woman wanted to go on a power trip, all because she was Lucian’s wife.
However, they did not believe that she should slander the Director Nathan because of that.
“Debra, you should not try to tarnish the image of the Director because you’re bitter.”
“Exactly. We know that getting you fired is unfair, but why try to drag the Director down with you?”
Aria arched an eyebrow at the employee who had said it was unfair.
“Unfair,” she scoffed in disbelief, “Do you want to join her as well? Huh?!”
The employee quickly cowered, lowering her head and her eyes. But there was still some defiance in their stance and they were not at all apologetic.
Aria shook her head slightly, “If an employee goes against their boss, while deliberately trying to make the company suffer a loss…”
“I wasn’t trying to make the company suffer a loss.” Debra cried out from where she stood, indignation and betrayal written all over her face, “I was trying actually trying to save the company from those who want to ruin it really!”
“How very noble of you,” Aria uttered dryly. She leaned forward, a cold gleam in her eyes , “How on earth did you help the company? By preventing me from having access to a working internet and a conducive office?”
Debra bit her lips, not saying anything.
There were a lot of words on the edge of her tongue at that moment. She wanted to say, Aria being jobless everyday was actually for the benefit of the company.
But also she could not afford to say that because she desperately needed this job. She was the breadwinner of her family, and had to take care of her parent in laws as well. She also had debts from college to take care of.
She had like a million things to take care of, and this job was the most lucrative one she’d ever had. She just needed to continue working here and all her problems would be solved.
But in all of this, it never occurred to her to apologize and plead with Aria directly. Somehow, she still thought Nathan would save her.
After all, he was the one who had told her to do what she did that morning. That was why she had done what she’d done.
If Director Nathan had not given her such instructions, she would not have bothered and would have served Aria like she did Monica Hank.
The entire meeting room was in silence as every employee had their eyes on them. They could not believe what was transpiring and they knew very well that the outcome would determine how they would continue working there.
Aria leaned back on her chair, “Did you deliberately try to make me feel useless? All by yourself?”
Debra immediately panicked, “That’s not true. I was not the one who decided this, Miss Beaumont.” She uttered, then pointed at Nathan, “Director Nathan made me do it!”
Nathan said nothing, shaking his head slowly in disbelief, while the other employees rolled their eyes at Debra, and frowning heavily.
Debra was distressed, “It’s true!” She screeched, “He was the one that made me do that to you, Miss Beaumont. He said you would not have anything to add to the company and that I should just keep you out of the way! It was all him!”
Aria turned to Nathan, her gaze sharp, “Nathan, care to explain what that means?”
Nathan flushed angrily, “You believe whatever she is saying? Sister in law, do you have something against me? Why would you believe this outsider over me who is family?”
Aria scoffed in disbelief, nearly bursting out laughing from Nathan’s statement.
The other employees thought that was rude. After all, Director Nathan was only being truthful. He is family after all. Why was Aria Beaumont acting all bitchy and rude?
“Director Nathan,” Debra asked once more, almost in tears as she stomped her foot in the floor, “Why are you doing this to me? You really were the one who made me do that!” She turned to Aria, “Miss Beaumont, he was the one who made me do that actually. I am innocent in all this!”
At that moment, Nathan reached for his cell phone and made a call, “Come on in. Now!”
Soon, the door opened and some security guards walked in.
Nathan pointed to Debra, “Get her out of here.” He ordered, “She’s dismissed effective immediately. Get her and her things out of the company!”
“Yes sir,” the guards replied.
They approached Debra and took hold of her hands.
Debra panicked and faced Director Nathan, “Wait! Stop! Director Nathan, you can’t do this!” She cried out in fear, “Miss Beaumont, it really isn’t me!”
Aria was silent, watching as the guards dragged Debra away. She did not in any way feel remorse for the young woman.
Debra had not in anyway showed remorse for her actions as well.
She was just pissed and bitter that all the blame was being put on her. She had not once begged for Aria to have mercy on her, nor did she say she was sorry for what she did.
Aria knew she would not be missed.
The other employees, however…
She only needed to deal with them all at once, and they would change the way they saw her.
Soon, the guards successfully took Debra out of the room. As she left, her face was twisted with rage and she glared at them all with hatred.
“I’ll make you all pay for this,” she screeched, “I swear I will!”
