Chapter 62 My Blood Will Be On You!
Chapter Sixty-Three
Clara and Selena exchanged malicious looks at that statement.
This was exactly what they wanted; for the Graves family to take responsibility for Tori.
Lucian’s eyes narrowed with irritation, “What did you say?”
“Mr Graves, that is the only solution to this problem right now,” Selena uttered rudely, “You have to take responsibility for my cousin or if she kills herself, would that be okay with you?”
“She can kill herself for all I care,” Lucian answered dryly, “If life is so fickle to her, then I think it’s not worth living. Stop wasting space on the earth and wasting oxygen as well.”
There were gasps of outrage from the Beaumont family at those words. Even Tori could not help, but stare in disbelief at Lucian with mouth wide open.
How could he say such hurtful words?
“Lucian Graves, you’ve gone too far now! How dare you say that after everything you’ve done?!” Mr Sanders yelled furiously, red in the face.
Lucian was unfazed, turning to glare coldly at the elderly man, “I am only saying the truth. Take it or leave it!”
“Mr Graves, if you don’t agree to take responsibility for over, I swear we are going to expose you!” Clara said, yanking the phone out of Selena’s hands and waving it threateningly.
They had expected Lucian to fold immediately the issue of responsibility was brought up, but he still remained stubborn.
Was he so confident about his status that he thinks he cannot be destroyed?
“All we need is to manipulate the media using the footage we have, and the Graves Empire will go down.” Clara thought maliciously.
Lucian’s eyes narrowed coldly, “Upload it if you dare!” He said through gritted teeth to the shock of the scheming women.
But Madam Graves was getting anxious by now, “No, please stop!” She uttered, placing out her hands in a calming gesture, “I think we should all take a step back to think things through.”
If there were any scandal involving Lucian and the Graves Empire, it would cost them greatly. Her son was only just returning to society after three years in a coma.
She could not let him face such disgrace. She looked anxiously at her husband, who looked just as worried as her.
However, Aria placed a hand on her shoulder, “Relax mother, these nitwits can do nothing more than a dead rat!” She uttered, “I say they have nothing to prove Lucian did what they are accusing him of. If they have the guts, let them upload it.”
“Aria Beaumont!” Mrs Sanders cried out in an anguished voice, “Are you doing this because you know our Tori will kill herself if the video is uploaded?! You want her to die, don’t you?! What kind of heartless woman, are you?!”
Selena stepped forward, eyes flashing with malice, “She’s doing this because she does not want Lucian to take responsibility for Tori,” she uttered, “She knows she won’t stand a chance with Tori once they are married. That’s why she’s pulling him back.”
Aria laughed in disbelief, “What the fuck are you talking about?”
Tori suddenly spoke up, her voice low and catching with sobs, “Well, I am a young girl and a virgin before Mr Graves…” she stopped, sniffing piteously, “…I am well educated and well mannered, unlike you, Aria. I know you think I might compete with our husband’s affection with you, but I know better than to act out of my place.”
Aria threw her head back and laughed in even more disbelief, “Our husband?!”
Lucian closed his eyes in exasperation as he rubbed the space between his eyes, feeling a headache coming on.
He could not stand another minute of this shit playing out before him.
Tori nodded innocently, “I am a virgin. I’ve kept myself all these years for the right one. I also made a vow that I will only be with the one that I lay with first,” she uttered, her eyes wide with desperation and helplessness, “You can’t make me go against my vow. Or I will kill myself!”
“You talk so much about killing yourself. Is your life that cheap? Is it that worthless to kill yourself over a man?” Aria asked, irritated beyond measure at Tori’s behavior.
She could not believe the woman would be thinking of using such methods to try to win Lucian over.
She hated scheming people like this and she was already getting tired of the entire charade.
“You’re just saying this because you know nothing about a woman’s pride, Aria.” Clara uttered, crossing her arms defensively, “Why should Tori have to break her vow because of your insecurities? She swore to be married to the one that takes her virginity and that is what is going to happen!”
Aria stepped forward, smirking as she crossed her arms in a thoughtful manner, “So let me get this straight. You claim you were assaulted, by a man whom you all call a monster,” she asked, “But then you’re willing to get married to that monster of a man, who took your virginity by force?”
Tori’s eyes widened with dismay at the question. She could only bite her bottom lip as she stuttered, “That’s…That’s not what I meant!”
“And you…” Aria turned to Mr and Mrs Sanders, “You’re willing to give your daughter to a man who insulted her and trampled on her dignity?!”
Mr and Mrs Sanders looked at each other, their brows drawn with confusion as they thought about the question.
“Well…well…” they stuttered, “…what else are we supposed to do? Who will marry her when she is dishonored?”
Aria rolled her eyes, “A woman’s honor is not in her virginity or if she’s married,” she uttered harshly to the oblivious paren to, “A woman has immense value even if she’s not married or even if she’s assaulted. We are not defined by what happened to us or by how the society sees us!”
Tori could not say anything, as she continued to bite her lips viciously while fiddling with her thumbs.
Because of what Aria had said, she looked very much like a materialistic woman and not at all like the virtuous, innocent woman she claimed to be.
She glared at Aria and pointed a trembling finger at her, “I will keep my vow, no matter how much you try to twist it,” she uttered through a voice thick with tears, “And if you refuse it, then my blood will be on you!”
