Chapter 61 Take Responsibility For My Daughter!
Chapter Sixty-Two
Madam Graves scoffed in disbelief, “There’s still no proof that my son did what you’re accusing him of,” she glared at Clara, “These are mere baseless accusations. Do you know that this is a punishable crime?”
Clara wanted to pull out her hair with frustration.
What the hell was wrong with these Graves family members? It made her want to destroy them all the more!
“Are you deaf, Madam Graves?!” She yelled, “My daughter, Selena, recorded everything that happened. The evidence is right before you. Do you want this to become public before you come to your senses?!”
Chairman Graves bounded to his feet in anger, “George Beaumont, are you not going to control your wife?!”
George who had been sitting down like a simpleton while watching Clara run the entire show, suddenly sat upright, jerked to his senses by Chairman Beaumont’s yell.
But Clara turned towards him as well, “Homey, don’t let them intimidate you,” she said with eyes filled with tears, “I know that you think they can support us but we must not let them trample all over us like this.”
“Tori was disgraced, Dad.” Selena whined, shaking her father by the arm, “And Aria is not even showing any consolation. Instead, she had joined this tyrant family to mock us.”
Mr Danders stepped forward, looking at George with eyes filled with panic and alarm, “George, please fight for our daughter. You know that Tori is the treasure of our family. Don’t let them step all over us!”
George looked round at all of them, the struggle very much visible on his face.
Aria rolled her eyes while Lucian could not help but laugh in disbelief.
“Now I know why Aria is much more exceptional than you lots. Thank goodness she was raised away from you,” he uttered with a calm smile, “Otherwise, she would have ended up as awful as the entire family.”
George was furious, as did the rest of them.
He pointed furiously at Chairman Graves, “Can you see that?! Your son is still insulting my family even at this juncture!” He was breathing hard from this outburst, “Now, do you still think we shouldn’t do anything?”
The Chairman did not say anything but he did not look especially apologetic either.
To him and Madam Graves, Lucian was either innocent or innocent.
“This was a child I raised correctly ever since he was a baby. Lucian had showed exceptional talent and remarkable sense of responsibility even from a very young age,” Madam Graves uttered, “It’s the therefore impossible to believe he would behave in such a manner.”
Selena scoffed, then stood up with her phone, “Well then, let’s see how you can still say that when I upload this to the internet!”
Madam Graves eyes widened in alarm.
She did not know what it was that Selena had in her phone but she knew these people were so evil and scheming at heart, that they could do anything.
Mr and Mrs Sanders bounded to their feet’s, fists shaking with fury, “Upload it!” They yelled in unison, “these proud people should be brought to their knees once and for all!”
Selena and Clara looked at each other with alarm. They had not expected Mr and Mrs Sanders to also ask for the video recording to be uploaded.
They had only said that to frighten the Graves family and have them obey their bidding.
Truthfully, if they were to upload anything, the Graves family had the power to crush it and sweep it under the carpet.
This was just to incite fear and to make the Graves family bow to their wishes.
The air became thick with tension at that moment but Tori suddenly jumped to her feet.
“Don’t upload it!” She yelled, tears streaming down her face, her hand stretched towards the phone dramatically.
Aria nearly barfed at the act.
God, this Tori was such a good actor.
Mrs Sanders took her by the shoulder and shook her, “Tori, what are you saying?!” She cried out, “Are you saying you want this people to walk all over us?! Just let us upload the video!”
“No mother!” Tori cried, grabbing her mother’s hand and placing it between hers, “I know that the video is going to give the Graves family what they so rightfully deserve, but it will bring attention to me instead!”
Mrs Sanders was silent, her mouth open in shock as she listened to Tori explain.
“I know what happened means absolutely nothing to Mr Graves,” she uttered, hugging herself, “But to me, I don’t ever want to show my face in public again! I’d rather die than have that video uploaded!”
Swiftly, she let go of her mother’s arm, then grabbed a vase of a nearby table, smashing it to pieces on the marble floor.
Screams and shocked gasps filled the air.
“Tori! What on earth are you doing?!” Mrs Sanders screamed, sobbing now.
“Tori, do you want to hurt yourself?! Stop this at once!” Mr Sanders ordered in fear, as Tori ignored them all and took up a large shard of the broken vase, pointing it directly to her wrist.
The whole sitting room became chaotic as everyone were watching with eyes wide in astonishment.
Everyone except Lucian and Aria.
Even the Chairman and Madam Graves were agitated, not wanting to see things escalate.
But Aria could not believe Tori was going so far as to try to kill herself.
“But for what exactly?” She wondered, shaking her head in bafflement, “How far will this crazy idiots go to prove their useless points?”
Tori was still pointing the broken shard of vase to her wrists, shaking terribly, “I mean it, I’d rather kill myself than let you guys upload that video!” She uttered through her tears, “At least, with this , Mr Graves would know how badly he’d wronged me! I’ll kill myself, and maybe then, he’ll be happy!”
“Mr Graves, take responsibility for my daughter immediately,” Mrs Sanders uttered, turning on Lucian furiously, “If anything happens to Tori, I’ll make sure I haunt you to your Graves!”
