As Selena said those words, Aria could not help but throw her head back in deep laughter.
She had envisioned this would happen and it eventually did.
Selena was like a wild cannon, and if she was easily provoked she was going to let loose without any control.
Aria realized that she did not even have to provoke Selena that much. The latter had immediately conceded, calling forth the name of her accomplices.
Just as Aria had wanted.
It was Hilarious!
Now, all she had to do was apply pressure on Vera, and watch her completely give herself away as well.
Selena had just confessed to a crime right in the public with so many witness, and video records of the incident.
It would be hard for her to break free from this one, and her dear father George would probably have an heart attack when he hears of it.
“You ever should have thought to mess with me,” she thought to herself, crossing her arms, “I told you, I’ll make you fall into your own trap.”
She would make sure to get both women arrested. If Vera does not confess, she would be made to confess when they called the cops and CCTV recording was produced.
Zach was currently in his way scouring tons of video recordings of the CCTV cameras for proof.
Aria was sure he was going to find something, as Zach was very much efficient.
But for now, she would have to watch Vera break apart and maybe, just maybe, confess to her crimes herself.
“Selena Beaumont, how dare you?!” Kurt thundered, “Do you know who she is?! How dare you accuse her of something so serious?!”
“How dare she betray me and dump everything on me?!” Selena fired back at Kurt and the latter stepped back once in shock that Selena could actually talk to him that way.
Selena was no longer bothered by how she was looked at by the crowd. Her reputation and her life were about to be ruined at this moment, and she would not let that happen.
If she could help it.
She crossed her arms and glared at Kurt, “And what do you mean if I know who she is? She’s just the best friend of a dead woman! We do not know your family, but I am from the Beaumont family! Don’t you dare to mess with me!”
At this point, Vera broke down in sobs, turning to Kurt and crying in his arms, “I don’t know what this woman is saying. I don’t even know her!”
“Oh stop with the crocodile tears,” Selena uttered, stamping her foot down in annoyance, “Ugh! I should never have followed you to the restrooms earlier. You were the one begging me to be my sworn sister and now you dare to pull this?!”
“Stop!” Vera croaked into Kurt’s shoulder.
Kurt held her close, then turned to glare at Selena.
“Stop what it is you’re doing now, and apologize to both Vera and Lucian Graves,” he said through gritted teeth, “Admit that you’re only setting up Vera and I might just let the Beaumont family go. If you don’t, don’t blame me for what I’d do next. You do know who I am right?”
Selena rolled her eyes in disbelief. She was shaking with anger as well. And now suddenly a new fear had been unlocking her.
That was, the Beaumont family becoming a target for the Vaughn family.
George Beaumont, her dad would really kill her if he was told the company was a target of a giant conglomerate like the Vaughn Empire.
However, Aria stepped forward and spoke, “Are you threatening her or what?” She asked in a succinct, mocking tone, “And besides, I’m sure Selena would not just accuse your partner without any proof. Right Selena?”
At those words, Selena started, looking at Aria with wide, uncertain eyes.
“That’s right. Proof. Of course I have proof,” she uttered, trying to keep her voice from shaking, “If you can just check the CCTV footage close to the ladies room, you’d get all the proof you need.” She turned to eye Bera viciously, “let’s see if you have the mouth to deny it even then.”
Vera’s eyes widened at the sound of those words. She immediately straightened up from her sobbing and faced Selena, “You will find nothing pf the sort.” She then turned to Lucian, and continued, “Don’t let her fool you. I think she’s just jealous of your wife and is going to do everything within her power to make you believe her.”
Selena flipped her hair behind her shoulder, “We will see about that!”
At that moment, Zach appeared and Selena almost shit her pant seeing how very much he was okay and not at all like someone who had taken a drink laced with drugs.
This confirmed Selena’s suspicions once more that Aria had actually set her up, turning the tides against her.
She was sure that Aria and Zach did not have a taste of that wine.
But she’d seen them take the drinks herself, so how was it that they were still okay?
She decided to stop dwelling on the matter because Zach started speaking right then and there.
“There are no CCTV close to the ladies room,” he said quietly as he stood at attention, “There’s nothing to use as proof.”
Vera let out a burst of laughter at Selena’s shocked face.
“See, I told you, you’d have nothing to use as proof,” she uttered delightedly, “Do you now admit now that you’ve been lying at me, and trying to set me up as well.”
“No! Never!” Selena screamed more to the annoyance of the crowd.
“What’s her problem? She’s just so impossible!” One said
“She tried to implicate Vera. As though Vera would even try to something like that.”
“She’s not a decent person at all. There are two daughters in the Beaumont family, and Selena Beaumont is definitely not one to be proud of!”
