Chapter 106 A Common Enemy!
Chapter One Hundred And Five
Vera pulled Selena into the restroom with her and closed the door.
“Okay Selena,” she called softly, “Now that we are sworn sisters, you promise to do anything to help me right?”
Selena nodded eagerly, “Yes Miss Hale, I will do anything for you.” She replied with a bright smile.
Vera smirked slightly, then lowered her eyes with a heavy sigh once more.
“It’s nothing much actually. It’s just that…” she turned away as though she was ashamed, “…I don’t know why your sister Aria Beaumont is so against me!”
She collapsed in a fit of sobs in Selena’s arms, and Selena was very much distressed.
She did not understand why everyone had to go through so much pain when they encountered Aria.
“That bitch!” She swore underneath her breath, “She must have let her good fortune go to her head. She seemed to have forgotten that I was the one who gave her the opportunity she had today. Well, this time, I won’t be a fool. I will get close to Miss Hale and make sure I have my revenge on her.”
She quickly patted Vera in the back , trying her best to make her calm down and stop crying.
“Please do not cry, Miss Hale,” Selena said in a soothing manner, “Aria is the one that’s supposed to be crying right now. I’m telling you, she’s only like that because she’s jealous of you!”
Vera only increased her sobbing.
In reality, however, she was only making the sobbing sounds, and not a drop of tears came out of her eyes.
She liked how this interaction with Selena Beaumont was going. Gullible people like this were way too useful to fulfill whatever wish you had.
She finally looked up at Selena with wide open eyes, “Do you really mean that?”
Selena nodded, “Yes Miss Hale.” She replied, then her eyes became sinister, “If you’d like to get back at her, just know that I’d do anything to help you. I also think Aria Beaumont needs a good lesson.”
Bingo!
There it was! The words she’d been waiting for!
Vera almost leaped for joy in Selena’s arms but she managed to keep herself in check.
She looked at Selena coquettishly, “Well Selena, thank you so much for what you just said.” She replied, “And yes, I really want to get back at her. If you help me.”
Selena smiled in delight.
Back in the grand hall, everyone had already been moved to a separate hall where they were served meals.
Aria and Zach were seated at one table, conversing. They were not really interested in what was going on around them any more since they had gotten what they’re come there for.
Aria had only just sat down by herself after being bombarded all night by dignitaries and executive Individuals, who wanted to get to know her more.
However, as they watched the night’s events go on, Selena suddenly appeared by their table.
“Sister,” she called softly, as she stood before them, two glasses of red wine in her hands.
Aria and Zach looked up at her with slight irritation.
What the hell was she doing? And what did she think she was playing at now?
Selena had a contrite expression on her face as she continued, “Sister, I know you’re still angry. I am sorry for what I did and said to you earlier this evening. Please do not take it to heart.”
Aria cocked her head to the side, a slight smirk in her face, “And what do you think you’re doing?”
Selena started in surprise at those words, then looked hurt.
“Sister, I’m only trying to apologize…”
“Do not call me sister. Ever again.”
Selena almost bit her tongue as she kept herself from lashing back at Aria.
God, she must think she was all that all because she married into the Graves family and had won a stupid project.
However, she had promised Vera that she’d help her with this task, so she took a deep breath and smiled sadly instead.
“I’m sorry, Aria. If you don’t want me to call you sister, then I won’t.” She lowered her eyes, “I respect your wishes.”
Aria felt like puking.
She could not stand Selena and her fake attitude at all, and so was Zach.
“Say what it is you have to say, and leave.” Aria said coldly.
“Well, I brought drinks for you and Mr Zach,” Selena uttered as she placed the drinks on the table, “I wish you would accept it as a symbol of my apology.”
“Fine. You can leave now.”
With her hands clasped before her, Selena retreated gracefully to the outside of the hall.
Once there, she cast a malicious glance at Aria’s table once more and saw that they were taking the drinks.
With a triumphant giggle, she pulled out her cellphone from her purse and called Vera.
Vera was still hiding out in the restroom, with the door still locked. She had her phone on the sink, waiting desperately for Selena’s call.
As soon as the screen lit up, signaling an incoming call, she yanked it from off the sink and placed it to her ear.
“Did you do it?! Did you give it to them?!” She asked eagerly.
“Yes, sister.” Selena replied with glee, “I saw both of them take the drinks right before me.”
Vera punched the air in victory as a huge feeling of satisfaction flooded through her.
Now, that’s what she was talking about.
She had cleanly gotten her revenge on Aria Beaumont, without even lifting a finger and from inside the restroom.
Aria Beaumont will never know what hit her, and even more sweeter, it cannot be traced back to her.
“Thank you so much, Selena,” she returned to her call, making her voice softer than ever, “You’ve given me a reason to hold my head high in public once again.”
“Anything for you, Miss Hale.” Selena replied foolishly.
With that, she ended the call and she turned back to peer inside the hall.
She was right in time to see Aria and Zach get up from their table, and stagger towards the entrance, holding on to each other.
She smiled devilishly.
Gotcha!
