Chapter 14: Weird premonition
Chapter 14: Weird premonition
Myra's mother didn't say anything no matter how much she tried to pry. Myra had no choice but to give up. Anyway she trusted her mother so it didn't matter whether she told her what she was up to or not.
Myra's mother reason was simple. Her girl was getting older, and the fact that it had been ages since she personally picked clothes for her by herself had been bugging her. She was embarrassed to tell Myra. That's why she made it sound so mysterious. She didn't want to lose face.
Myra looked at her enthusiastic mother and figured that she had made the right decision to accompany her. To her, anyone who treated her better deserved all the happiness the world has to offer. Her mother was no exception. She loved seeing her smile. It was always infectious. She also smiled as she followed her mother into the shopping mall. They were respectfully ushered in. Of course they would. She was the alpha's wife, after all.
Myra saw her mother holding her hand enthusiastically and had a bad feeling. She didn't know why her mother's smile made her feel that way. But, could she manage to back out at that moment? Maybe in her dreams. Her mother definitely wouldn't allow that to happen, and neither would her conscience do. She could only sigh helplessly before following her mother in. Her premonition was confirmed as soon as they entered the clothing section. Was it really too late to back out now?
"Mom, why am I the one trying on the clothes?" Myra couldn't help but ask. It was her tenth dress, and she was already tired, but looking at the pile in her mom's hands, she knew it wasn't going to be over anytime soon.
"Just do it. Can't you do it for Mommy?" Her mother pouted and asked. Myra could tell that she would cry the next second if she didn't try out the outfits.
"Fine, I will, okay?" Myra said in exasperation and went ahead to try out all the clothes handed to her by her mother. She wasn't sure how many clothes she had tried on, but she just knew that her hands and back were tired and aching after she was done. Meanwhile; her mother's face was filled with satisfaction. Myra didn't complain. It seemed like she made the right decision to accompany her mother.
"Let's go home, baby." Her mother said. They came in the morning but were going back when it was almost evening. Myra only heaved a sigh of relief after they sat in the car, headed to the crescent moon pack.
"Here." Her mother passed her some yogurt, and Myra frowned. Seeing her mother's glare, she obediently began drinking it. Everyone knew just how much she hated yogurt, but since it was good for her health, they always made her drink no matter what. she finished the whole yogurt. Only then did her mother look away in satisfaction. She knew they were doing it for her own good, that's why despite the fact that she hated it, she still took it when it was handed to her.
As soon as she finished having her lunch, she went to her room and took a shower before she climbed onto her bed. God knew how tired she was. She just wanted to sleep. And so, for the very first time in a long while, the moment her head hit the pillow, she fell asleep. She wasn't sure how she fell asleep. No one disturbed her. Maybe it was her mother who told the people in the manor not to disturb her. She had her five hours of uninterrupted sleep, so she woke up in a good mood. As she sat on the bed in a daze, her phone chimed with a notification. She wondered what it was, so she stretched out her hand to pick up the phone. She looked at the text on the phone incredulously. How dare he save himself on her phone without her permission? Myra raised her brows. She didn't feel disgusted or repulsed at all. The person who had sent the text was the dark lycan, and he was inquiring about her health. After all, she was in bad shape when they parted ways the day before, so he was just showing his concern. Myra thought for a while before responding that she was fine. She had even accompanied her mother to go shopping, what could possibly go wrong? After staying in that position for a while, she yawned and made her way downstairs.
"Mom, I'm so hungry." Myra said as she joined her mother on the couch in the living room. Her mother gave a look to the maid who was standing at the side, and the maid got to work. Within a few minutes, the dining table was filled with food. Myra's eyes lit up. She was hungry and now that she had seen food, how could she not feel happy? However, her appetite was always terrible. After taking a few portions, she felt so full that she didn't want to continue. Her mother's heart ached when she saw this. They had taken her to various specialists but never really found a cure for her terrible appetite. No matter what medicine she took, nothing really changed. What could they say, though? Her mother would always try her best to give her the food she liked. Otherwise, her baby would definitely be overly skinny, more skinny than she was at that moment. Anyway, Myra was full and happy, so she went to the living room and nestled on the couch. Coupled with the furry pajamas she was wearing, she looked like a kitten. Her mother's eyes couldn't help but turn gentle when she saw how her baby looked.
The following day was Sunday, and her mother was busy packing up for the business trip. Myra had things to do, so she remained in her room for the whole day. She only came out later in the evening. She found the table already set, so she washed her hands before going to her parents on the table to eat. Her father was around this time, too.
"Honey, you have to take care of yourself, okay?" Her father reminded her worriedly. They had never left her alone, so it bugged them that she would neglect herself. They weren't sure if she would be bullied either. If he had the means, he would have asked her mother to stay behind and take care of her. But the business meeting this time exclusively stated that both of them should attend it. They played by the rules, so how can they go against them?
"Okay." Myra nodded. She planned to do so. There were still some things she had yet to accomplish, so if she died now, who would help her?
Her father heaved a sigh of relief and continued putting food in her bowl.
Myra later went to bed. She didn't know why her heart felt especially heavy. She tried ignoring the feeling to no avail. No matter how much she tried to sleep so as to forget it, she couldn't. In the end, she leaned on the headrest and tried to think. She couldn't decipher what was happening, and she didn't have anyone to talk to. She was a loner, so how could she have friends? She didn't regret her choice, though. She would rather be alone than face another betrayal from friends. Anyway, what made her heart feel heavy? Could it be that she had a heart condition? This thought made her panic. She wasn't ready to die yet!
