Chapter 179: Wonderful Singing Voice
Chapter 179: Wonderful Singing Voice
Aviah's POV
I smiled and shook my head, "No, thanks."
It wasn't that I was scared to go up there. I was mainly worried someone might post my face online. After all, I had a bet with Scarlett to keep my identity hidden, and I didn't want to break the rules.
"Looks like this lady is a bit shy. Everyone, don't you want to hear her beautiful voice? Let me hear your applause."
Then, thunderous applause broke out from the crowd.
Some people even shouted for me to sing a song.
Even though the atmosphere had built up to this point, I still didn't want to go up.
Just then, Diane tilted her head and stared at me with her big, watery eyes, full of confusion. "Mommy, why won't you go up?"
"Do you want me to go up and sing?"
Diane nodded seriously. "I want you to sing. I haven't heard you in so long. Mommy, your voice is so beautiful, they'll definitely be amazed by you."
I smiled gently and touched Diane's hair.
Diane pouted. "Mommy, I'm a big kid now. You can't touch my head in front of other people, only in private."
I laughed out loud. "Okay, okay, you're all grown up."
Since Diane wanted to hear it, I'd sing one song.
"Since you want to hear it, I'll sing one for you."
Diane clapped and cheered. "Mommy's the best! Go, Mommy!"
I put Diane down. The male singer on stage bent over in a standard gentleman's bow, and I stood up in response.
Under everyone's expectant gaze, I walked toward the stage.
The confidence and determination showing between my brows, my straight posture, and my calm, steady steps—
All of it made it hard for people to look away.
As I walked onto the stage,
the cheers rang out again.
Probably to liven up the atmosphere, the male singer asked me, "Miss, may I ask your name?"
I took the microphone, graceful in my manner, without any nervousness or stage fright. Instead, I replied playfully, "I'd rather not say."
The male singer smiled and didn't push it. After a few polite words, he quickly got to the point.
"What song would you like to sing together?"
Without hesitation, I said, "Lakeview Lullaby."
This song was one I created myself, a song I sang for my two children.
The male singer was clearly surprised. "Is this a song you made yourself?"
I nodded.
The male singer made an exaggerated expression. "I didn't expect that the guest we invited on stage today is also a music creator. Since she's so confident, shall we let her do a solo? What do you say?"
As soon as he said that, the crowd below went wild, all egging me on.
Everyone wanted to see what I could do.
The male singer continued, "Do you need any instruments?"
"Guitar and piano."
"Really? From what you're saying, you can play both?"
I nodded. "Can you accompany me? Just keep it gentle. I'll play the piano."
The male singer picked up the guitar and strummed it a couple of times. "I'm ready. Looking forward to you giving us a surprise."
I sat down at the piano. The lights hit me, and all eyes were on me.
And then, my whole presence changed. In an instant, the stage became completely mine.
Under everyone's expectant gaze, I gently pressed the first key of the piano.
Then, note after note bloomed from my fingertips.
The slow, lyrical melody flowed like a gentle stream, making everyone close their eyes involuntarily, as if returning to childhood.
As if hearing the endless sound of cicadas, as if seeing childhood friends, as if seeing figures playing by the river.
The venue became even quieter, everyone focused intently on me.
Or rather, focused on their own childhood memories.
The male singer was clearly stunned for a moment. Obviously, he hadn't expected my piano playing to be at such a high level.
But fortunately, he quickly snapped out of it, and the gentle melody of the guitar joined in.
Complementing each other perfectly, blending together beautifully.
As the prelude ended, my voice also floated through the microphone into everyone's ears.
My voice was ethereal and melodious, as if forming train tracks in the air, carrying everyone's memories toward the beautiful times of the past.
The voice was light, the lyrics interesting, the music gentle—everything blended together so beautifully.
Making people's imaginations soar.
And I was getting more and more into it, closing my eyes, immersed in my own world, my fingers flying as I played faster and faster.
Yet my voice remained steady—one fast, one slow, one still, one moving, yet perfectly combined together.
As my voice faded, as the final note's long tone rang out,
everyone was still immersed in the lingering resonance of the song.
Everyone's tense bodies relaxed, and that was a feeling called regret.
Everyone's thoughts were reminiscing, reminiscing about childhood.
Almost everyone's face had tear stains. Looking back on the journey, whose life doesn't have regrets?
Until the first applause rang out, like triggering a chain reaction, the applause merged into one.
Soon, everyone stood up and applauded for me.
I knew that I had conquered them with my voice.
At this moment, I became the focus of the entire venue, admired by all.
I pulled myself out of the emotion of the music, stood up, and bowed to everyone.
Only then did the male singer wake up as if from a dream. He put down the guitar and walked to my side with the microphone.
"I just felt like I went back to the past, back to childhood, seeing my mother, seeing my friends, seeing the little girl I had a crush on when I was young."
"What a moving song. Everyone, tell me loudly, did this lady sing well or not?"
The crowd responded enthusiastically, still wanting more. They shouted for another song.
The male singer spoke again. "If I had to give this lady a rating, I could only say perfect. Your not becoming a singer is our loss."
This sentence seemed very sincere.
Clearly, he genuinely felt my voice was amazing.
I smiled. "I still have to thank you for giving me the opportunity to perform."
This sentence obviously pleased him. He simply said, "The crowd is so enthusiastic, would you like to do another one?"
Hearing the crowd's cheers, I slowly shook my head. After all, this was his show. I couldn't be too high-profile, or it would feel like stealing the spotlight. I naturally understood these principles and wouldn't do such a thing.
The male singer smiled even more. I was also giving him an opportunity. For his next song, any upbeat, high-energy song would definitely get the atmosphere going.
This way, he would become more famous too, and more people would come to see him.
The male singer bent down and took my hand. "Miss, I find that I've fallen in love with you. If you weren't already married, I would definitely—"
He didn't finish his sentence. A restrained yet cold voice rang out.
"You would definitely what?"
