Chapter 74
Chapter 74
Gabi
By just asking the room what we were going to do about the Breeder Dens had the room going eerily quiet with angered filled expressions. Everyone here wanted to voice their outrage and contempt.
“Okay, I think it is safe to say that no one here wants any part of those damn low lifes to continue functioning in any sort of capacity. Soooo, I say we dismantle the program and then dismantle them” I say. Everyone is thinking it but no one is wanting to say it. Everyone sitting at the table wants to continue this professionalism decorum. But I will not have it. We are all family here and we need to be able to sit comfortably with one another. We can be both professional and familiar.
“Come on guys, drop the damn act. Everyone at this damn table is in some way or another related to each other. There is no reason that we all cannot sit here together and discuss openly what is on our minds.
“Mine I see red, I want blood and brimstone fires burning their way through the entire world.” I say looking to Lucy who gives an evil smirk and I look to her to talk.
“I agree. The entire time that I was in those damn cells all I kept wondering was how I could start a fire to take down a whole lot of them. Many of those working girls only wanted death to come to them anyways. None of them had ever wanted to be a part of that life. So bring on the fires.” Lucy said from her seat. “I will personally burn the damn place to the ground.” Lucy smirked.
I was truly liking this new side of her. She was starting to embrace the life that we were starting to build up for her.
“Like fucking hell you are” Levi and Roman said in unison. Both men snarled at the thought of their mate coming close to the dens that had taken so much of her life.
“Lucy, over my dead body are you ever going closer to those dens. You have endured enough, now it is time for you to let the rest of us fight.” Roman growled out. I could actually believe him but we needed a way into the dens. Someone that knew the lay out, knew the women and someone that knew the majority of the men and guards.
Seeing my trepidations Samuel linked me.
‘Gabi, what are you thinking? Please tell me it isn’t what I think it is?’
‘It is the only way Sam. I know she can do it. And this time she won’t go in alone. We can send in a top warrior and another woman to keep close to her. Savenia is strong. She most likely would be willing to go in with her. We have no other options. We need that layout to storm the gates.’
I was still looking to him and giving him my most sympathetic smile before he shook his head and began to stand, prepared to fight a very, very pissed off Roman.
“I am going to propose something and we can hash out the details to this plan but I think that we all know that it needs to be done.” I said looking at everyone. Many at the table looked to me with questioning brows but I did not miss the look of regret coming from my father. He knew what I was going to propose. He knew that inside intel was going to be our only solution into getting into those cells and saving as many women as possible. We needed someone on the inside to keep them and the infants safe.
“Lucy, you are soo brave and strong to entrust us with you story. But now I ask that you entrust us with your safety. We need a woman that knows the system on the inside. We need someone to keep the women safe and ensure that they are ready for when we attack. If you feel that this will set you back in any way with your recovery I would understand your refusal but I pray that you don’t.” I say before being cut off by the uproar coming from Roman.
“ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!?!?!” Roman growled out, throwing his seat flying backwards as he stood and slamming his hands down onto the table.
Roman
We had been discussing the outcomes of the cells but the unasked questions loomed over us. How were we going to get in and save as many lives as necessary? We needed an inside guy but we had no way of getting in there without being detected let alone without getting all those women, men and children out of there. I was starting to grow worried as I looked to see Gabi and Samuel fighting via mindlink.
What had me growing nervous was when Samuel shook his head before standing up to his full height and standing in support with Gabi. Yet when she opened her mouth and spoke Lucy’s name, a sense of foreboding began to settle into the pit of my stomach.
“Lucy, you are soo brave and strong to entrust us with your story. But now I ask that you entrust us with your safety. We need a woman that knows the system on the inside. We need someone to keep the women safe and ensure that they are ready for when we attack. If you feel that this will set you back in any way with your recovery I would understand your refusal but I pray that you don’t.” She explained to Lucy and the table.
With her words I wanted to rip the entire room to shreds.
“ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!?!?!” I roared out.
Looking around the room, I could see several of the men had pushed away from their mates and had started to push them behind them, easily seeing where this conversation was heading.
“Sam, are you serious right now? What if this was your mate huh?” I said looking to him as he went to attempt to speak I cut him off to look at the others around the room. “What if this was any one of your mates? Huh? Would you be so willing to send them in?”
“Roman, please let us finish….” Samuel said before I cut him off again.
“No, you are finished because it is not fucking happening. She is not going back in there….” I said before I was cut off by Lucy grabbing at my arm.
“Yes. Yes I am Roman…”
