Chapter 84

Remmie

Leaving the meeting room I felt drained. I had been feeling drained for days now. But with the training schedule, helping out with border patrol and with the unquenchable urge that was apparent in my mates I was barely managing 4 hours of sleep a night. Now, I was also going to be assisting in the training of both Savenia and Lucy before they entered the Den’s.

“Rem, is it just me or do you feel drained?” Reign asked me as she ran up to walk ahead of the boys. Grabbing my hand and giving it a big squeeze.

“Wait, you're feeling drained too? I thought it was you draining me? So, if you're drained and I am drained then who is draining our energy and strength?” I asked her quietly.

‘I’ll give you 3 guesses and the first two do not count.’ Reign stated through mindlink. Giggling we both turned around to look at our mates. Our mates while never taking their eyes off of us were a ways back from us. Laughing, we made our way to the dining hall.

‘How about we take our food and go back to the apartment and maybe get some sleep tonight. I can link Thaddeus and see if he will take one of our shifts.’ I linked to Reign. ‘Maybe see if Marcus or one of the other boys could take up the other shift.’

‘If we do that our mates will know that there is something wrong and holy cannoli. We will never hear the end of it. You know how controlling and possessive they are,’ Reign responded.

Laughing I turned around to see an annoyed glare appear on Cain’s face. He was the easiest of the two to annoy.

‘Secrets do not keep friends. Keep it up you two and when I get your asses back to the room I will tie your asses up and paddle them.’ Cain growled over the link. I could tell that he included Abel as his eyes lit up with mischief and wanton lust.

Turning to Reign I linked.

‘RUN!’ With that, both Reign and I took off running towards our apartment that we shared with the boys. I wish we could say that we had separate rooms but as we had found out it didn’t work for us. After only one night we tried different arrangements. We started with Reign and I sharing a room but that didn’t work as we woke only to find the boys passed out on the ground by our bed. We tried to seperate by Cain and Reign in one room and Abel and me in another room but I could feel the unsettlement of Reign. We had never been seperated and it was difficult for her to be separated from me now. So, we had all decided that the only way any of us were to get any sort of sleep was for us all to share a bed. Taking two twin mattresses from the dorms we put them side by side and made a makeshift King size bed. Reign and I slept in the middle and the boys would often take their positions on the outside of the bed. Since that first week that was how we found ourselves every night. Reign and I fell asleep facing each other while holding hands and our mates taking turns curled up behind us, engulfed in their warmness.

Reign and I ran as fast as we could. Making it to our apartment and bedroom before the boys even knew what hit them yet they continued to taunt us over the link.

‘Oh my, I do love the hunt’ Cain said.

‘Little wolves, little wolves, where are you?’ Abel said.

‘We are so in trouble when they find us.’ Reign linked giggling in my head.

‘Oh but the punn..nish..’ I stuttered as the room began to spin in circles before going completely dark.

Reign

Throughout the entirety of the meeting all I had wanted to do was to curl up into the arms of Cain and go to sleep. For the last couple of nights Cain had held me close and purred to help me fall asleep. Plagued by nightmares both him and I would often stay up late and talk to one another. On the nights that he slept with Remmie, he and I would stare into eachothers eyes and just talk about our lives, our favorite things, even about our futures. It was nice to share such a strong connection with someone other than Remmie.

While I held a strong relationship with my brother, his beta, Gamma and my parents the connection that I had with Cain was different. Even more so than the connection that I held with Abel. But I still couldn’t see my life without Abel. The nights that I had spent with Cain, he would purr to help me fall asleep. Just the simple gesture would have me falling deeply asleep within seconds.

After the meeting all I wanted was sleep. While Remmie and I had been stretching ourselves thin lately I still did not think that was the cause of why I felt that just carrying my weight to my room was a struggle. Once I reached up to Remmie, I had to ask the question that I had been dreading. I couldn’t see Remmie taking the energy from me. She had been looking just as drained.

“Rem, is it just me or do you feel drained?” I asked her. I wanted to stated it in a way that would let her know that I could understand her if she was taking some of my life force but also to let her know that I was here if she needed to get something off her chest.

“Wait, you're feeling drained too? I thought it was you draining me? So, if you're drained and I am drained then who is draining our energy and strength?” She replied. The confusion in her eyes had me just as confused. How the hell were we so weak all of a sudden?

‘How about we take our food and go back to the apartment and maybe get some sleep tonight. I can link Thaddeus and see if he will take one of our shifts.’ Remmie linked me. ‘Maybe see if Marcus or one of the other boys could take up the other shift.’

‘If we do that our mates will know that there is something wrong and holy cannoli. We will never hear the end of it. You know how controlling and possessive they are,’ I replied back to her.

It was no joke. The boys were so controlling and possessive. The first night that we had guard duty, we had been told that we would be on the west tower. Cain and Abel had the morning shift. Yet when we arrived at the West Tower, there was Cain and Abel talking to the guards that were supposed to be on shift with us. The two men quickly nodded their heads and returned back to the compound leaving us alone with our mates. The anger rolling off Remmie was enough to charge the entire compound. But the boys simply stated that if anything was going to happen to us it would be on their watch. They didn’t trust others to protect what was theirs to protect.

The sweetness of it had me releasing my anger yet, Remmie was not having any of it. That was until Cain quickly came up behind her and nuzzled her neck. Remmie allowed me to hear what he was whispering into her.

‘If something were to happen to us, who would you blame?.. That is what I thought. Do not blame us for thinking the same about you. Plus, you and I both know that Reign should not be on border patrol, she is too valuable. Her ass should be at the hospital. But because you insist on her being out here, so will we.’

I had quickly grown furious at him but Abel was right there to remind me that everything being said was the truth. I wouldn’t leave Remmie to patrol and she was one of the greatest hunters and shots. Having her not on patrol and having someone getting hurt, had us agreeing to be placed on the roster.

I had to laugh. They were so controlling and possessive but it came from love. And the way they controlled the roster and even doing patrols with them. The first night was the hardest. They had ordered us to sit in the damn tower and they would walk the fence line. Remmie was so pissed that they were making her sit out. The next night she brought out her Pellet gun. Each time one of the guys would come within range she would pelt him in the ass. They had no clue that Remmie was shooting them in the ass until 3 nights later, when Abel had spotted the barrel after she had shot Cain in the ass. That night we had learnt what the eyelet hooks hanging from their ceiling were for.

We were shocked that we were relieved early from duty only to be tossed over the naked bodies of Cain and Abel. They marched us from the towers in the dark to the front entrance of the Compound doors. They were quick with the locks as they rushed us to our room and locked the door. Once in our room they threw us on the bed only for Cain to walk into the closet area and came out with thick leather cuffs. Both Remmie and I were speechless when we found ourselves dangling from the floor from the eyelets. Even more so that our asses were paddled till I could swear they were bruised. Only then did they release us before tossing us back on our bed and fucking us to unconcousness.

This thought alone had me giggling as we turned to see if the guys were watching us. In which case their careful gazes were watching our every micro movement. Studying every tick of our muscles.

‘Secrets do not keep friends. Keep it up you two and when I get your asses back to the room I will tie your asses up and paddle them.’ Cain growled over the link. I knew that he wouldn’t paddle my ass. Each time it came time for punishment, he could never bring himself to punish me. He had always pushed Abel to punish me. Abel would eagerly agree. I could tell he felt the same way about Remmie.

At that last insistence, Remmie turned to me before linking “RUN!”. Taking off we quickly maneuvered the halls. We were at our front door unlocking it when I could hear the guys sauntering up the hallway. They always love to taunt us and they are masterful at hunting. Yet we always loved the game of cat and mouse.

Once in our bedroom Remmie looked up towards the ceiling. Deciding to keep that hiding spot a secret we took off in different directions. I took off towards the closet as Remmie ran towards the Amore.

Once I made it to the closet, I felt the effects of having run to our room. I was slowly fading but just kept telling myself I only needed to catch my breath then I would be fine.

Hearing the taunts I worked on controlling my breathing and to hopefully fend off the dizzy feeling that had been circling my head.

‘We are so in trouble when they find us.’ I linked to Remmie giggling.

‘Oh but the punn..nish..’ Remmie stuttered out. By the sound she had passed out. Feeling the emptiness of my sister having lost consciousness or at least that is what I was hoping had happened I could feel my own hollowness closing in.

‘Cain, h..he..help.’ I linked before my own world went completely dark.
