Chapter 80

Chapter 80

Alec

Leaving the meeting Savenia slowed to wait for me. Allowing me to walk up and wrap an arm around her shoulders, I started to guide her to the dining hall.

“What do you say we go grab a couple of trays and take it back to my place and maybe watch a movie before getting started on those applications?” I asked her.

“We could always skip dinner and go back to my place and get to know each other?”

“Darling I would love nothing more than to get to know you in that manner. But I do need to pick up James. Would you like to meet him?” I asked cautiously. I was still nervous that me having a child would be the straw that broke the camel's back.

“I don’t know. What if he doesn’t like me? I mean I am not a she-wolf. I have never really been around any children. I think I’ll just go back to my room tonight.” She said, straightening her hair and clothes.

“Savenia. Silly woman. He will love you because I love you. Now, I do not know how the bond works for you. But in wolves, it works as magnets. You are our opposites, our equals. We are engrained to love you from the moment we look into your eyes. I understand that it will not be the same for you and that you may need time to feel the same but just know that you will always have a place in my home, my bed and most importantly my heart. SO, please come with me tonight. James will love you because he was never taught to discriminate against any species.” I explained grabbing her hand and leading her to the Dining hall where I could hear many of the children laughing and talking.

After the children are released from school they are taken to the Dining hall where they are able to play games, do crafts and some even help Alpha Samuel's mother in cooking and preparing dinner. Some of the older children would congregate at one of the tables talking and doing homework. Many of the younger children were spread out playing games, and doing the crafts that were left out for them to keep occupied with.

Walking in I looked around the room to see if I could find my son. Savenia, holding tightly to my arm, also began to look around the room attempting to find James. Unlike her I knew exactly where I could find my son. He wasn’t like many of the other children.

Like his mother and his father before him we were addicted to reading and books. I knew that in order to find my son I would have to go to where the children were the quietest then go to where no other child would think to go. Under the table.

“This way” I told Savenia as I guided her around the room to the far table that was far enough away from the other kids that the noise wouldn’t bother him. Seeing the stack of books piled up high on top of the table I knew I had found the right table.

“Alec, I think we should go look in the kitchen. No one is back here.” Savenia said.

“That my dear is where you are drastically wrong.”

Once we reached the back table I watched as Savenia looked at several of the titles of the books piled on top.

“History of the Werewolves. Psychology of the Paranormal. Ancient Greek Mythology. Witches and their Divine Power. Fae and the Woodland Creatures. The History of Dracula and the Vampire Methodology. Werebears and Shifters of all Kinds. Whoaaa. Those are some serious titles. I wonder who checked all these books, then lifted them here.” Savenia said.

I laughed as Savenia let out a little squeak when a small little hand came out from under the table and was reaching up to grab another book. Leaning down, I lifted the table cloth and poked my head underneath.

“James, why don’t you come out here? We are going to grab some trays and go back to the apartment. Are you down with a movie tonight?” I asked him as he was reading a rather large book.

“Hi, Daddy. Did you know that the original packs would often hunt and trade in humans? They were used as currency and would be used as Omegas? Those that showed great loyalty to the packs would be transformed. There is one pack in this book that refuses to believe in allowing humans to be gifted. They believed that they should remain pure of blood and stay loyal to the line of the first werewolves. What was that pack's name again?” James said excitedly as he began to flip the pages of the book trying to find the name of the pack.

“It was Black Blood, son. Where is your bag and I will help you lug these books back to the Apartment?” I asked as I looked all over the table for his knapsack.

“Some of the older kids took it when I started to grab a book out. They said I make them all look stupid and don’t like that I bring down their grade. Daddy, they said I ruin the grading curve. I don’t mean to.” James said sadly.

“So, who took your bag then?”

“Brandon and Matthew. They are just mad that they are taking the same classes for three years in a row.” he said somberly.

“Its okay. I will go get your bag and then we can go. Can you wait here with Savenia?” I asked him, as he began to crawl out.

“Who’s Savenia?” James asked as he prepared to stand up. Standing up he made eye contact with Savenia. “Whoaaaaa. You're a demon, not just any demon but of royal descent. You have to be either one of the princes' kids or the king himself. You are, aren't you? I know you are, your yellow eyes are a trait that is only passed down from the royal line.” James said excitedly.

“Yes, I am. I am the daughter of Prince Adrik.” Savenia said, placing her hands on her knees and leaning forward to be on the same level as James. “Which boys are Matthew and Brandon?” She asked James.

“Those boys over there at the Table laughing with the cheerleaders.”

“The ones in the lettermans jackets?” She asked him.

“Yep those would be the ones Princess.” James replied.

“Okay, how about I take care of this one. You want to come with me?” Savenia asked him, holding out her hand.

“To watch the royal line at work? Absolutely. I have never seen what demons can do. I have read many stories but those are just books. To see it in action. Can I Daddy?” James asked.

“Go ahead. I will wait over here.” I was amused at how fast he and Savenia were able to make a connection.

Savenia

This little boy was a wonder. The boy was very small and reminded me of a toddler but the books that he had stacked and read were that of college level.

Walking towards the boys, I chuckled at the very adamated boy that James was. He was so excited about the world around him and so inquizitive.

“Are you Matthew and Brandon? I asked sweetly.

“WWWWHOA! Y.. Y.. Your.. You're a demon?” They stuttered as a release ample amount of my demonic aura.

“And what would make you two say such things?” I asked them, wanting to get my point across.

“Your aura, you reek of demonic power. The ones that come out of the shadows to punish the wicked.” The beefier one stated.

“I am a Demon, you are right. So, I hear that you two like to pick on the young and weaker than you two?” I asked a rhetorical question as I nodded towards the little boy still clutching my hand.

“Did you snitch on us, you little dweeb?” the smaller of the two said.

“Does it matter if he did or not? Maybe I read his mind?” allowing my eyes to glow red and the fires of hell to dance up the arm not attached to the young boy I watched the two boys in front of me flinch. “Give the boy his bag!” I hissed as the boys shakidly reached down on the floor and picked up his bag and shakidly gave it back to him.

As James walked back towards his father I looked at both the boys. “If you two so much as breathe in his direction, I will come back for you and finish this discussion. Pass the word along. My new step son is completely off limits.” I said taking great pride in the young boy that with my bond with his father, would make me at the least his step mother.

Walking back towards the table the concerned look on Alec’s face said that he had heard the entire conversation. I worried that I may have crossed some sort of imaginary boundary that maybe he and I were not ready to cross.

“Are you okay Alec?” I asked once I returned to his table.

“James, why don't you go on ahead and ask Luna Rose for some plates to go?” he asked him.

“Sure Daddy, but did you see? Matthew and Brandon were so scared that they almost pissed themselves.”

“I did son. Now scoot.”

When James laughed and ran towards the kitchen the fake smile that Alec had plastered to his face vanished as he grabbed onto my arm and dragged me towards the hallway.

Once outside he pinned me to the wall as his anger had his chest breathing in pants.

“How dare you take the place of his mother? He has a mother!” He snarled and snapped at me.

Pushing him backwards I glared at him.

“Are you not mated to me? Are you not the one that has already declared his love for me?” Still stalking towards him I shoved him one last time until he fell to my feet. Stepping down on his chest I snarled back at him.

“If you did not want me a part of his or your life all you had to do is just say so.” Snapping my fingers I flashed back to my room.
