Chapter 7
When I regained my consciousness, I found myself tied up tightly in a dark room. Faint noises of chatter were coming from the other side of the closed door.
I tried to get rid of the ropes. But it was in vain. Those were not the regular ropes. I heard the voice of Ezekiel. Another man was with him.
I tried to move closer to the door and put my all senses to listen to what they were saying. As I was a wolf, it was a blessing that within seconds I was being able to hear everything they were discussing.
"You can take this one without any doubt, sir. I can assure you this is the best you have ever taken,” I heard Ezekiel talking.
“This one came here alone you say?” I heard another man's voice.
"Yes, young master. It came alone. It's been a long time since one came here. You will be fascinated when you meet it, young master,” Ezekiel said again.
From their conversation, I could fathom that they were talking about me.
“Is he selling me to someone?” I asked my wolf in my mind.
"Of course, he is! You knew he was a trap, Rose. Yet you accepted the tea. Whatever you are thinking, it can bite back,” she warned me in my mind.
When I accepted to have the tea with the pika, I did not trust him. But I wanted to gather information. The area seemed completely unusual and way different from the image that I had in my mind. And it would not be possible for me to break into those castles alone without any knowledge about the vampires. Let alone finding Liliana.
I was deep in my thought when the door opened with a bang. I startled. The pika entered the room with a tall man. He was also in a hooded black cloak covering from his head to toes. His features seemed different from the wolves.
His body was slender, but the masculinity was there. The hoodie slowly fell over his broad shoulder and his face was unveiled.
His skin was so pale that it almost felt like ice. His transparent blue eyes were as icy as his visual. His white hair was brushed back slightly.
“A girl?” he frowned at the pika. "You know I don't take female pets,” he said coldly. “They are weak and no fun. They don't even last long,” he grabbed the pika by its throat and said angrily.
I was trying to set myself free. The ropes were made with mana. I had learnt before how to set something free from mana. Soon I managed to loosen my rope. The guy was still busy complaining. They did not notice anything. They were standing at the door blocking it. The only way was the small window that was almost near the ceiling.
I wondered what would happen if I had not received the training for being the Luna. A beta wolf like me would not survive an hour alone in this world.
They were not noticing me. It was my only chance. I could easily make a jump for the window. But that would be suicidal. Since I did not know where I was. It could be a cleft, a sea or anything outside. How far I was from the ground was also not fathomable.
Yet I decided to make a run for it.
"You are reckless, Rose," my wolf warned me.
"You know what I chose to be reckless the moment I dared to enter this territory alone,” I replied.
“That's bold of you to try to sell me this woman after taking that huge amount of mana stones,” the guy was still going on with Ezekiel.
I greeted my teeth. What kind of sick business they were running I had no idea. But killing that man was the only escape for me.
I made a plan. I knew my wolf pace would never meet a vampire's. I decided to be bait for him.
I inhaled deeply and in a blink of an eye made a run for the small window. As I thought they both were startled for a moment. I was brought into one of the castles that I had noticed from far. Below the window, there was a straight cleft that was deep down below about a hundred meters.
But within a fraction of seconds when I stepped on the window frame, I felt the cold presence of the vampire on my back. I moved away from the frame instead of jumping. The guy was about to grab me. But instead, he was startled again and fell from the window.
I smirked looking down. It was dark. I could not see anything. But I knew he would not make it. Even if he was alive, it would be impossible for him to drag himself up from that cleft. I turned and found Ezekiel trembling.
"You damn rabbit!” I lost my temper.
I shifted my forearm into claws. I was about to attack him when a cold hand grabbed my claw stopping me. For a moment I was stunned. From the corner of my eyes, I saw a spark. The white-haired guy was there standing beside me grabbing my wrist. His hands were cold like a dead body. I felt sparks again at the place he was grabbing me. I was forced to shift back again.
“What?” I murmured looking at him. "How did you—” I was cut off by him.
“I was wrong about you though,” he smirked and said, "You would make an interesting pet.” His eyes were glowing.
He placed his hand on my neck near my cervical region and within a second, I lost consciousness again.
When I woke up again the first thing that came to my sight was Liliana's face. She was lying a few meters away from me unconscious.
“Liliana!” I called her name. She did not move.
This time I was not tied up like before. Before paying attention to my surroundings, I tried to get close to Liliana.
"Not so fast, pet,” a thin female voice said blocking me with a sword.
I looked up and met a pair of cold eyes. I took a look at my surroundings. I was brought into a large hall. I saw the vampire from earlier with two other vampires. A man and a woman. The woman was blocking me with the sword. And the man was standing with the white-haired guy. They all had the same facial features and the same pair of ocean blue eyes. They looked like siblings. Just the other two vampires had black hair.
"You hit the jackpot with the human, brother!” the black-haired guy said excitedly to his brother.
“But why did you bring this bitch here with you, brother?” the girl asked with quite an anger in her voice. She was not happy with me.
"That is true, brother never bought a female pet before. She will not even last one demon,” the black-haired guy looked at his brother and said.
The white-haired guy was calmly sat on a large couch. He leaned comfortably on the couch crossing his legs. His eyes were piercing through me.
“This one tried to get me killed,” he said slightly smirking.
"What?” the black-haired guy was surprised hearing that. His eyes got bigger. "Pfft,” suddenly he broke into laughter. “This one bites you say?” he asked laughing.
The girl gave me a death glare and suddenly she hit me hard on my face.
"You tried what, bitch?” she grabbed my chin and asked coldly. Her eyes were burning.
I greeted my teeth. Liliana was lying there unconsciously. I did not want to create any situation that might hurt her.
“Why don’t you two chase my new pet this time instead of the demons?” the white-haired guy proposed.
"That sounds fun, brother,” the girl's face brightened up hearing that.
They looked at me like hungry hyenas. I got up carefully. They were looking at me like I was the prey that they would tear down into pieces any moment.
"Make a run for your life, girl,” the black-haired guy said and right after he attacked.
I was free to run. And I did not waste the time either. I had no idea where the exit was in that castle. I noticed a window and made sure this time it was not any cleft. I jumped and came out in the wild. I did not want to attack them in the castle. Fighting three strong vampires alone was quite impossible. I wanted to break their pair and distract them separately. It was easier for me to deal with one of them at a time. I was good at baiting.
I wanted to take down the guy first. He seemed dumb and loud. Besides he was truly underestimating me. I was trained to be the Luna after all. They thought I was some rogue wolf lost in their land. That was the privilege I decided to use.
The two vampires suddenly went in a different direction that just worked in my favor. They were getting pleasure watching me running for my life. But it was the trap that I set for them carefully. I pretended that I was afraid. They were also purposedly making it more painful for me.
After luring them away for quite a long time I noticed that the guy had gotten overconfident. He was not waiting for his sister's order anymore.
I suddenly started running in his direction. He thought I was going to attack him. He was chilled and relaxed. He knew a weak wolf like me would never be able to put him down. He was standing there confidently, ready to take the attack. My bait was for his sister though. I knew she would get possessive if I attacked her brother. She would decide to end this in a go.
I was at my full pace towards that brat. The girl was following me as well with wrath filled her every single cell. The guy was prepared to attack back.
The sound of the teeth piercing through the muscles came to my ears. I turned and saw the terrified face of the girl who still had her hand pierced deep through the chest of her brother. Dark blood coming out of the freshly made hole of the guy's body. The guy's teeth were still pierced in her neck. She was bleeding as well. The siblings were tangled in each other's blood.
The shock was written all over the girl's face. The guy's body was already turning into ice. His eyes were enlarged in disbelief.
I shifted my claws and casually walked to them.
"You two can rest in hell,” I said calmly and entered my claw in the girl's back piercing through the guy as well. Their body quickly started to turn into ice. And within seconds they scattered into pieces leaving my claws alone in the exact place.
I looked back at the castles. Now I knew where Liliana was. I was still unaware of the circumstances. If Chris was in eternal sleep, then who was the guy that kidnapped Liliana. What was their purpose? And how did Liliana come to that white-haired guy? Tons of unanswered questions surrounded my mind.
I took a deep breath. To save Liliana, I needed to face that white-haired vampire. And he would not be happy after finding out about his siblings.
