Chapter 19

The past two days had been heaven for me. I had never been this happy my whole life. I could never imagine I could get this kind of happiness in this life.

My wolf was slowly getting cooperative. She could tell how genuinely happy I was. And my happiness was hers. Just a few more days and I could accept Chris as my mate. And then I would be free from the cursed bond. We could spend the rest of our lives happily.

But it was unfortunate that because of me, his thousands of years of life was coming to an end finally.

But Chris would always assure me that it was the life he had chosen. He was tired of living.

We are back in the daisy fields over the mountains. Chris had to cover his whole body since he could not let the sun rays fall on his body. It would burn him.

But the cool breeze and the beautiful weather of fall was making it look so peaceful. The clouds were looking like fluffy cotton candies in the sky.

"I have never observed a summer," Chris said with amusement filled in his eyes.

"What?" I asked him curiously. "You have lived over a thousand years and never seen a summer?"

"We vampires cannot survive in summer. The sun rays and the sunny weather would burn us eventually. We keep the witches in the forest to maintain this misty weather throughout the year. But looking at this place makes me think like summer might look more beautiful," he said looking at the flowers.

"Yes, it is," I rolled back on the ground. "I love fall season most though. But the summer is also beautiful."

I grabbed a few daisies and pulled Chris under the shade of a large tree. I pull down his hoodie. His face was looking so beautiful. I had never in my life observed such exquisite beauty. I put the flowers on his hairs.

"Pretty," I said smiling. I was not being able to believe that this beautiful man belonged to me and was ready to give up on his immortality because of me.

"Are you sure you will be fine in the future?" I asked him, looking into his eyes.

I was kneeling in front of him. His hands were on my waist grabbing me. Our bodies were intertwined with each other.

The breeze was touching us softly. The fragrance of the flower was coming from the field. The birds were chirping on the tree. The most aesthetic scenario I could ever imagine for a date.

He pecked my lips gently. He pulled me closer to him. My heart started beating so fast that I felt like it would come out tearing my rib cage.

He rested his head on my chest like a baby. For a few moments, he stayed in that position. I started playing with his soft, silky hairs.

"Rather than living a thousand years without you, I would love to live only a few years happily with you," he said suddenly.

My eyes teared up hearing what he said. I hugged him tightly. It was the best moment in my life. I could never be happier.

But deep inside I was feeling afraid. Would I really be able to get all these? Would everything go as we planned?

Since my childhood, I had grown up bearing a cold personality. I was an orphan, so I never learnt to depend on anyone. I could never believe that someone would be there for me. And from that belief, I hardened my shell so much that I could barely let anyone break it.

When Eris came into my life, I did not know how to feel. Since I had always been alone, I did not know how to think of someone as mine.

But due to my wolf, I started to feel it. I learnt how to break the shell. I started to feel it towards Eris. But then I noticed, even though he was the one for me, I was never the one for him. I could never feel the warmth in him. All of his affections were kept deep inside that belonged to Liliana.

I was never anyone's first choice. So, after Chris said he loved me, he chose me over his long life, he chose me over Liliana I could not think straight.

I had felt so much happiness that I started to panic thinking that it would not last.

An ominous feeling was surrounding my mind the whole day. I was feeling like everything would be taken away from me.

Chris felt my anxiety. He raised his head and looked into my eyes.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked.

"Huh?" I was startled. I came back to reality from my thought.

"You are thinking so hard that even though you are blocking your thoughts I can literally hear them pounding on that barrier," he said chuckling.

"Hmm, I was thinking what if I listen to my wolf and return to mate," I said jokingly.

But he was so possessive that his eyes started burning again in anger. He tightened his grips on me and pinned me on the ground again.

In the daisy fields, it was the best moments we had. His hands kept roaming in my whole body affectionately.

When we came back from the mountain, Felix had arranged a beautiful lunch table for us. The table was filled with delicious foods, teas, and flowers.

I was amazed. But I did not know that vampires could eat foods like that.

"Can you eat all these?" I looked at Chris curiously and asked.

"It is not a necessity. We don't get the flavor, but yes, we can have it occasionally just to look more normal," he chuckled and replied.

And the most romantic date came to an end with us dancing together, enjoying the meal together and finally having the best day of our lives together.

But I did not know what was awaiting in the near future. The next day when I woke up an unexpected guest was waiting for me in the hallway.
