Demons, in my pack? This is unbelievable. There's no way demons will find their way into this pack. Amy must be perceiving outlandish things.
Nevertheless, as soon as the car parked in front of the mansion, I got out hurriedly, startling Alpha Hans, who was seated beside me in the car.
“What is going on? Amelia?” He stepped out of the car, looking at me in surprise. However, I ignore him. “Amelia?” He called again, and this time, I couldn't ignore him because he kept calling my name until I gave him the answer that he was after.
“Amy can smell demons!”
He gasped in shock. “Demons?” His eyes snapped wide, and his jaw dropped. I stepped away from him, scanning the entire surrounding to be sure of where the smell was coming from. But every direction I turned, I perceived the demon's scent. Without hesitating, I fixed my eyes on the South, stood rooted in a spot, and shut my eyes. The moment I opened it, the blue light flickered, and my fingers snapped into a crack.
Swiftly, I waved my fingers across my eyes, zooming the surroundings. If there are demons, instead of perceiving them, I should be able to see them too. But I could not see anything, and the scent started withering away. The next moment, everything was gone, and the atmosphere became calm, with fresh air as it used to be in the pack.
That was so confusing. How can a demon set its foot into this pack? And leave as soon as possible? I must see Healer Matt about this and hear what he has to say.
“You can even see demons now?” Hans asked as we headed towards the apartment. I nodded my head, chuckling softly. Hans doesn't know yet, and when I sit and tell him all that the moon goddess has blessed me with this time, he will be astonished.
Even though I refused to answer most of his questions, Hans kept asking me, wanting to know everything that happened while I was at the Dark Shadows sect. Eventually, I will tell him, but not now. Seriously, I'm so exhausted, and the only thing I need right now is to lie down on the bed, close my eyes, and sleep like a little pup with no worries.
Luckily, the moment he entered the room, Hans went inside the bathroom while I jumped on the bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow, a soft breeze swept past my face, and I fell asleep.
The next morning, I woke up, refreshed and full of energy, like I wasn't the one who was so tired yesterday. However, that wasn't something to be worried about right now. Nothing can stay in my body for long: pain, agony, anxiety, or any balderdash.
Even before I awakened the magic within me, whenever I got cut by a sharp object, the pain faded away instantly, and the wound closed up like I was never injured. And right now that I am harboring a strong, powerful magic, I don't think pain will even find its way into my life anymore.
This is the most perfect gift ever, and I am so in love with it, thanks to the moon goddess who blessed me with this power.
“Good morning, Alpha Amelia.” Matilda bowed her head slightly, smiling at me. I was stunned by her beauty because the dress she was wearing brought out every beauty that had been hidden in her body.
Wow! Who knew that Matilda was this pretty? The dark shadow sect really did a bad thing to this girl.
“Did you succeed in bringing back the servants?” she asked worriedly. And when she saw the smile on my face, her expression brightened up. “Tell me you did,” she chuckled excitedly. “That is why I am so proud of you. Alpha Amelia, and I swear, I want to be just like you in the future. Brave, full of energy, and confident.”
Well, I get that compliment a lot.
I took Matilda to the company, showed her around the place, and went to the office with her. Hans wasn't there, nor was General Lykon. I thought since Hans wasn't at home, he would be in the company already. And for General Lykon, he must be afraid to come, so he wouldn't provoke me by leaving his office.
“Get General Lykon here,” I ordered Thane as soon as he came into the office, “and Alpha Hans too.” He nodded his head, bowed slightly, and hurried out.
“I can't wait to meet Alpha Hans.” Matilda chuckled softly, drawing my attention to her. “I have heard good things about him, and I have also seen his pictures on the internet. He is handsome.”
Uhn? Why is she blushing all of a sudden? This girl shouldn't even think of falling in love with the dude I love. Her heart will only be broken if she tries that. And wait a second, Hans’ pictures are on the internet? Why haven't I seen a single photo of him?
I think Matilda is mistaken; she must have seen Hams and thought he was Hans.
“Hans doesn't use the internet frequently, and he doesn't post his pictures there. That was Hams,” I said, picking up my phone to check if what she said was true.
“But it was Alpha Hans,” she sounded serious about it. “I know them. Although they look alike, they also have different features that differentiate them. Look,” she passed her phone to me, and yes, Hans even has a social media handle where he posts a lot of his pictures.
That was so confusing. I remember asking Hans if he was on social media so we could connect as friends, but he told me no. I also searched for his name but found nothing.
