Chapter 54 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 54 Untitled Chapter
AMELIA BROOK

So it was mind control after all. No wonder they were acting so weird, like they were seeking revenge. I should have known that, but I didn't. And now that I think of it, my pack members have never turned against me this way. I know a lot of them are not in support of me being the Alpha of the pack, but they have never shown it, even on their faces.

Who knows that those idiots who are mere slaves in the pack would possess dark magic and even practice it on them? Gosh! I didn't perceive it from them when Hams brought them here. And speaking of Hams, what was that thing running towards me earlier on?

It wasn't a thunderbolt, nor was it ordinary. It had eyes, red eyes that flickered in the dark shadow that engulfed its body. Was it from the Dark Shadows sect?

“Do not be surprised if it turns out that way, Amelia. I have never seen that kind of thing before. Also, those slaves used a magic-concealing weapon to fool us into thinking they had no dark magic within them.”

Amy was correct, and they will not go free for what they have done. I will teach them a great lesson they will never forget in their entire life.

“We need to inform them of what is going on and why they acted that way, so they won’t blame you.”

Hans said worriedly, and I scoffed. Does he think I am afraid they will blame me for what happened? Absolutely not.

We arrived at the scene, somewhere the wolves were groaning and wailing. And when I saw the corpses in the pool of their blood, my heart plummeted. Adrenaline gushed over, triggering my tear gland, but I blinked my eyes, controlling myself. I wouldn't be seen shedding tears in daylight; they will look down on me more and call me the weak Alpha.

When my eyes darted to the wolves who were seated on the chairs, groaning in pain, their angry stares sent a wave of rage into my heart. The power stirred in my stomach like butterflies, trying to take control of me again.

“I want to deal with them!’ Amy ped-snapped, glaring at them. But I wouldn't allow her to take over; we must control ourselves now that we've found the real reason they were acting that way.

“Alpha Amelia?” General Lykon called, hurrying towards me. He bowed his head slightly, then stood at attention.

“On Alpha Hans’s command, I have locked up all the wolves from the Valtorium pack, and I am happy you are back. You need to deal with them for what they've done.”

We went to the prison where the Valtorium pack members were locked in, and when I walked past Axel’s cell, he was sitting on the floor, head on knees.

I scoffed at him, cursing under my breath. That idiot!

“Here they are,” General Lykon said, pointing at the largest cell.

I stopped in front of the cell, staring at them in disgust. Look at them, so awful and ridiculous. I should have known that bringing them here was a threat to my pack members and my leadership.

However, I didn't. I thought they weren't harboring any magic, but they were.

“Now tell me why you chose to make my subjects turn against me this way. Because of you, a lot of them have lost their lives!” I slammed my hands on the rods, and the cracking sound echoed in the prison.

“We weren't the ones who killed them; it was you!” one among them shouted from the back.

I held up my head to see who could have said that, but there were too many, so I didn't know who did it.

I wouldn't have killed my subjects just like that. What am I? A nitwit?

“Keep your mouth shut, Rogues! When Alpha Amelia speaks, do not say a word out of your filthy mouths!” General Lykon commanded, his monotone sharp and authoritative.

The mumbling stopped, and the prison went quiet like a graveyard again.

“I will ask again. How did you manage to control the minds of my subjects?” They didn't say a word, and as silence grew, someone among them murmured.

All she said was clear as a crystal in my ear, and this time, I caught who it was as she was still mumbling when I tried to find her.

“Bring her out,” I ordered General Lykon, and when the door was unlocked and the general grabbed her hand, her eyes widened in shock.

“What did I do?” She cried out, struggling to free herself from his grip.

“You don't know what you did?” I gasped, sidestepping closer to her. “What were those stupid words you muttered earlier? Do you think I wouldn't hear you?” I scoffed and turned to the rest, who were staring in fear.

“I can hear things clearly. And whoever wants to be my scapegoat, say anything that comes to your mind!” My voice shook the building as I thundered.

“And you?” She lifted her face filled with tears, and when she saw the blue light flickering in my eyes, she clasped her palms together, pleading.

“I beg of you, Alpha Amelia, spare me!” She wailed, rubbing her palms together at a quick rate.

She is scared? But she could defy me? Seeing her doing that made my blood rage, remembering the lives of my pack members who were put into danger by them.

I felt a tingling sensation in my stomach, and the next second, my saliva tasted like bile. My heart started palpitating, and in another second, the power gushed out.

I snapped my fingers, lifting her off her feet.

“Tell me the idiot who made you do that!” My voice cracked like a thunderclap, sending shivers down their bodies.

They clung to each other, and whimpers broke out from the little kids.

“Speak!” My eyes snapped wide, and the light shot at her, hitting her on the chest.

She let out a shriek, clutched her chest, and tumbled down in a thud when I snapped my fingers.

“Leave me alone, witch!” She screamed in pain, wailing.

Witch? That word hit me in the chest like an arrow. No one dares call me that and go free.
