Chapter 19 Apologize to My Enemy? Over my Dead Body
~AMELIA BROOK~
The message I gave Axel to send to Rowan was what would stir up his anger, not an apology message.
How dare he change my words and apologize to the rogue who killed my parents? Axel has crossed the line this time, and I swear, he will regret ever doing it.
I slapped him across the face when he refused to say a word after showing him the news from the gossip site.
Rowan has already put it on the internet and attached the message from the Lunskye Pack to the post. Also, the message has my name written in the lower part.
How could he downgrade me this way? Rowan deserves no apology from me, and I swear, I was planning on how to attack him, but this?
“Al…pha…Am…melia, Pl…please listen t…to me…I… I don't know any…thing about this,” Axel stuttered, holding his knees.
Listen to what? The lies he will cook up? Wasn't he the only person responsible for sending and receiving all the messages about the company?
What nonsense is he telling me? Seriously, I am done with this dude.
“Amelia, calm down.” Hans held my hand, but I pulled it away from him.
“Calm down? Do you even know how huge this is? Rowan has posted it online, and I am being looked down on. Everyone's saying I am a weak Alpha who is afraid of Rowan. Can you imagine? I ain't scared of Rowan!”
Axel can't do this alone, can he? No way, there must be someone behind him. Could it be the elders? Snap! Of course they are.
They've wanted me to apologize to Rowan right after the incident. So, when I didn't do as they said, they went behind me to send the apology message. Great!
“Summon the elders for an emergency meeting!”
I thundered, and Axel took to his pace.
“Do you by any chance…” Hans raised a brow, curiously looking at me.
“Yes, I have gotten a clue.”
“How dare you!” I slammed the desk, springing up. These people are out of their minds. How could they even think of doing this shirt with me? Aren't they even afraid of the outcome?
“We are so sorry, Alpha Amelia, we just thought that was the best thing to do.”
Seriously!
“Besides, Alpha Rowan has accepted the apology and even posted it online. We should forget about this and avoid provoking him again.”
Wow! Just wow!
Now they defy me because they are scared of Rowan?
“Rowan is disgracing the Lunskye Pack online, which my late father built! And it is all thanks to you.
Now tell me, who among you started that nonsense? Who brought the idea of sending the message to Rowan?”
They were all quiet, exchanging glances because they were unwilling to call out the person who started it.
“Are you guys deaf?”
My voice cracked like a crash, but none would say a word.
To annoy me, one of them even said I should stop exaggerating it and just let it slide.
For real? That only provoked me the most, and I swear, I must find out the mastermind behind it before leaving the meeting hall.
“Elders,” Hans waved, drawing their attention to himself. Since we started the meeting, he hasn't said a word, but I didn't care because he might say something that would provoke me too.
“You guys went too far this time,”
Good! I thought he would take their side. And oh, Hans can't; he either takes my side or remains silent.
Afterward, he is into me, and going against him won't give him what he wants.
“But, Alpha Hans, we did the right thing. Alpha Amelia doesn't know how evil Alpha Rowan can be. Everyone in this kingdom knows him too well, and no Pack has ever provoked the Valtorium Pack since the reign of his forefathers.”
Really? And I, Amelia Brook, should be afraid of him because of that?
“That is stupid,” Hans scoffed. “Rowan is a mere pest that a finger snap can kill. What you guys did wasn't right, and you should apologize.”
I crossed my arms under my chest, looking at them with one brow raised and a grin. Hans has just hit the button, and it will be best for them to apologize.
“Wait, Hans, I still want to know who made Azel send the message to Rowan.”
“We can ask Axel about that,” he suggested. But even he knows that Axel won't say it.
“That loser is scared of little things. The person who told him to do so might have threatened him to. So,”
I turned to the elders, my eyes fixed on Beta Casper, who had the audacity to do it.
“Beta Casper, is there anything you want to say to me?”
Others looked at him as he muttered words under his breath. His face was wrinkled in anger, and his arms crossed his chest.
“Amelia, that was the best thing to do.”
Whoa! Amelia?
“Were you the Alpha who gave birth to me? You have no right to call me by my name, old man.”
“What’s the big deal about that? I was there when your mother gave birth to you, lady, show some respect for the first time in your life!”
What! He dares raise his voice at me? And what nonsense is he talking about?
I have been respecting him since I was born, following the rules he set for me, even though I am the daughter of an Alpha. I never once said no to him, and I even fell in a stupid love just because of him. And this is what I get?
“Beta Casper?” one of the elders whispered his name, signaling him to be careful. But since he is stubborn, he thinks he can mess with me.
“Do not tell me what to do, Amelia is trying to turn us into her puppets!”
Oh, and here we go.
“She is a woman, for goodness’ sake!” he sprang up, waving his hands in the air angrily. “Why did we allow her to ascend the throne when Alpha Hans is the rightful person to do it? Now you see what I have been running from? She has taken over the Pack, and now we are doomed!”
