Chapter 104 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 104 Untitled Chapter
AMELIA BROOK

This is unbelievable. How could healer Matt prefer an outsider to me? He should be talking to me directly and alone, not Hans.

What on earth is he trying to do? Make Hans take control of me? Pffft. That is never going to work.

While waiting for them to be done with whatever backstabbing thing they were doing, I leaned my back against the car, crossed my arms, and dove into the realm of thoughts.

Hans took it out on Matilda earlier, and to me, that is definitely not a good sign. And it is more confusing when he said Matilda was acting weird at the door while I was busy going through the tons of pictures she was showing me.

How is that even possible? If Matilda was saying something to Hans, I would have heard them, and I would have interrupted because I had already warned her to stay away from Hans.

“Amy?” I tilted my head, raising a brow in confusion. This whole thing confuses me a lot, and if it continues this way, I will be forced to lose my mind.

I cannot be thinking of two things at the same time. A way to solve the situation in the pack. And Hans' behavior towards Matilda.

“What do you think I should do in this case? Can you also listen attentively to hear what Healer Matt and Hans are discussing inside?”

I want to know if they are gossiping about me or saying something about the demon attack. Perhaps Hans will poison the healer’s mind into thinking Matilda is a demon. He is an alpha, and whatever he says to Healer Matt, that old hag will not argue with him; he will definitely say what Hans told him was nothing but the truth. And Matilda, that poor, innocent, fragile girl, will be heartbroken when she finds herself being accused of what she doesn't know about.

“No, sorry. I cannot listen to what they are saying because I am not in the mood to eavesdrop on any of them.”

That is so rude of her to say that. Nevertheless, it is time to engage in a war with Amy. I have no time for things like that.

Since she wasn't going to help me, I blocked the connection with her and dived into my thoughts again.

It has been a week since we visited the healer, yet Hans has refused to tell me what they discussed in an enclosed place. He is acting like I am a pokenoser whose aim is to suck out information from him and liberate it to the whole pack.

What is he even thinking? Urrgh.

“Alpha Amelia?” Matilda ran after me, panting heavily as if she were in a marathon. The foundation on her face was surgey because of her sweat, which had ruined it. The makeup on her face was a disaster, and to say she looked funny was an understatement.

“Are you headed to the company?” she asked, trying to wipe off the sweat on her face, carefully not to mess up the remaining makeup.

“Yes, and what is wrong with you this morning? You seemed lively, unlike yesterday.”

“Oh, that,” she giggled, her voice ringing like a musical instrument. “That's my mood today, Alpha Amelia, and it is all thanks to you.”

Oh, she also has a mood that complements each day? Wow! What is she, a demon? Hahaha. That isn't possible. Even wolves go through mood changes one or two times a week.

“If you want to go to the company with me, you need to go back in there and wipe off this thing on your face.” I pointed at her face. “And change into another dress. This one is too revealing. Who are you going to impress? The warrior?”

“Ahh, Alpha Amelia,” she broke into laughter. “Why would you say that? The general is a bit too old for me. Do not forget, he is old enough to be my daddy.”

“I know, right? But in love, nobody is too old for each other. If he wants to be your mate, do not hesitate to accept him; he is a good guy.

“I heard you. Give me a few minutes, and I will be back.”

As she turned to go inside the packhouse, jealousy crept into my mind. Hans is in there. What if they cross paths and…

“Matilda?” I called sharply, heading towards her. “Wait for me. I forgot something inside.”

It was a good thing that I went inside the packhouse with her because she had bumped into us on the stairs. If it were Matilda alone. Who knows what would have happened?

“Didn't you say you were going to the company? What are you still doing here?” Hans asked me, but before I could answer him, Matilda took over.

“Oh, Alpha, Amelia forgot something in her room, and after she picks it up, we are leaving together. Good morning, Alpha Hans. You look lively today, too. What are the odds? I also woke up feeling so…”

“I don't remember directing any question at you. Or did I mistakenly call your name without knowing?”

To be honest, she deserves it now. How could she talk to him that way? Even if she was the one whom Hans asked a question, she shouldn't have talked that way.

Matilda is getting on my nerves, too. She cannot compliment Hans; only I can do that.

“I am so sorry, Alpha Hans,” she said, lowering her head sadly. “I didn't mean to provoke you. I only wanted to get on your good side because it seems you don't like me for no reason.”

“Umm, Matilda?” I stepped in, blocking her way. “Why don't you go to your room and do as I said earlier? I will be waiting for you outside.”

She nodded her head sadly, glanced at Hans, and hurried away. As soon as she closed the door, I turned to Has, but he glared at me and walked away.

Hans thought I was going to scold him for doing that to Matilda. But that wasn't what I wanted to do. I was going to ask him what he and Healer Matt discussed two days ago. Sighs. If he doesn't want to tell me, it is fine.

“I will repeat it, Matilda. Stay away from Hans. You always find a way to cross his path and make him angry.”

“I am so sorry; I just want to fit in.”

Is that even necessary? She has already fit in with me and doesn't need to bother Hans unless there is something she is after.

“A quick question, though.” She raised a brow, confusedly. “You and Alpha Hans are mates, right?”

What kind of a question is that? “Yes.” I frowned at her. “But why don't you have his mark anywhere on your body?”
