What a bad day! I never thought I'd meet Hector here.
But today I didn't wear my face mask. So, I have to be discreet in case he should discover my identity.
Everyone' s eyes were on them, especially on his lackeys in suit who looked evil and arrogant. Hector stood at the center of them. Some recognized him.
Hector, who was the son of family Lam, the most powerful family in D City.
He glanced over the crowd to locate Nora, then he narrowed his eyes on me, his look unassuming. After he gestured to his lackeys, a suit came up to the manager and slapped a bank card on the table, saying coldly, "Clean out the place."
Then he shouted at the crowd, "All of you, get the hell out of here."
People were shocked to death and scurried out of the restaurant as no one dared to disobey Hector's order.
Without the crowd, Hector stumbled toward me and Nora. Nasty scars on his face, while my fingerprints were left on his neck. It would take a long time to heal.
He sat down and looked at the grilled fish, grinning. "Nice dinner, Nora."
Nora asked fearfully, "What are you doing here?"
Hector languidly shrugged his shoulders. "I'm here to look for some guy as soon as I saw your short video."
Nora glimpsed at me guiltily as she forgot to hide the video's location, which led Hector to them easily.
Hector looked at me calmly and asked, "Do I know him? Your new friend?"
Nora hesitated before saying seriously, "Yes. Hector, could you please not interrupt my personal life?"
Hector sighed and said, "I wanted to do so, but you know I was hit by some bitch and you were taken away from me. I was looking for him these days, but it's weird that all the surveillance videos were missing. You tell me if I should suspect it's your friend who did it or not."
Yesterday Hector was hit, and today Nora hung out with me, which made me a suspect.
But Nora said coldly, "How could I possibly know it."
Hector smirked, "It's alright. I have plenty of time to find him."
Then, Hector looked at me and said, "You look nervous, bro?'
I pretended to be a coward and said nervously, "Mr. Hector, I didn't do it."
Distain flashed in his eyes. "I didn't say anything, bro. It seems like you know something about it."
I forced a smile. "No…"
He huffed and gestured to his hitmen to lunge at me. Nora quickly stood in front of me and said warily, "What are you doing?"
Hector said coldly, "I bet it was him who hit me yesterday."
"I'll call the police." Nora huffed.
His lips quirked upward. "But I'm the king of D City."
Arrogant and overbearing, he had a condescending attitude, which annoyed me, but I pretended to be a timid coward on the outside.
I did it for Emelia. Anyway, I had taken my revenge on him.
As I hid myself behind Nora, Hector despised me more, and he scoffed, "Emelia, why do you make a coward your boyfriend, who's too terrified to face me."
She said coldly, "It's none of your business. As long as I'm here, no one can touch him. Plus, don't you want to say something about last night?"
After his carefree laughter, he said under his breath, "Relax. I just want my bodyguard to pat him down."
Her protection for me made me more suspicious, so I poked her with my finger to let her step aside.
Then she quickly went away after leveling Hector with a warning glare.
I had learnt Chinese Kungfu from Peter in Burma, so I could tell if his hitmen can play Chinese Kungfu by the shape of his head bone as there's differences between ordinary people's head bone and that of people who play Chinese Kungfu.
Clearly, Hector's hitmen were no match with me, though they were muscular and good at Chinese Kungfu. As long as I slightly shrink my bones, they wouldn't figure it out."
To keep my performance real, I pretended to twist away from their hands.
After the body-search, one of his bodyguard said to Hector in a low voice, "Boss Hector, it's not him."
Dumbfounded and sulk, he incredulously stared at me.
He was sent to hospital after he was hit by me. Although the physical attack was painful, he was actually tortured by mental scars.
Ever since last night, he had ordered his hitmen to hunt for me in the whole D City in vain. When he was watching videos on Tik Tok this noon, he found Emelia upload a video which led him to me.
It turned out to be a wild goose chase.
He was dissatisfied with the outcome as he angrily walked up to me, and he slapped me on my head, growling, "Son of a bitch! Stay the fucking away from my Nora."
Lowering my head in silence, I was exasperated on the inside.
In Chinese tradition, a male's head is allowed to be touched by nobody but his grandparents. Otherwise, the male is insulted.
But I held my anger back.
I was not breaking like this as I was a mean streak.
But Nora couldn't stand seeing me, her saver, suffer.
She huffed, "That's enough. He's my friend."
Hector sneered, "You can't have male friends. Am I understood?"
Nora questioned with tearful eyes, "Why? Why the hell do you interfere with my life?"
Hector shrugged his shoulders. "Because my words are orders and rules that nobody can disobey."
Nora's tears threatened to stream down her cheeks as she was riled up. Her life had changed since Hector had a crush on her. She used to hang out with her male friends before they were hit by Hector's lackeys in the name of love. The fact was he did it for his own good.
Nora didn't like to be controlled. She said coldly, "Please get out of my life."
Hector ignored her words. "You have every right to hate me, but you can't stop me from loving you."
What a jerk! He was talking shit!
Words failed Nora as Hector was crazy. In no way could she persuade him into giving up on her.
A smirk curved Hector's lips, and he twisted his head to look at me, seriously saying, "I don't care who the hell you are. For Nora's sake, I forgive you today. If you caught dating with Emelia again, I swear to kill you. For the record, my name is Hector Lam, in case you want to retaliate me someday. You're welcomed at any time."
