Chapter 19 Is It You, Ross?

In a dormitory for male students at Denton University.

Leonard was lying on his bed and staring grudgingly at the ceiling. It was silent in the dormitory. No one dared to breathe.

"Jayden Hunter! Jayden Hunter!!!" Leonard fiercely roared like a madman.

His hysterical roar startled other people in the entire dormitory. His underlings all shuddered in unison, feeling extremely frightened.

Leonard's face was hot and painful. And he kept thinking of the scene where Stephen had kicked him one by one.

Leonard figured out that what Emelia had brought over was not a boyfriend, but a brother.

A senior brother who had been away from home for over five years.

One of the men said awkwardly, "Brother Leonard, let's just forget it! Even Stephen is respectful to him, how can we, a bunch of students, fight with him?"

The rest of the men echoed, "Yeah! Brother Leonard, there's no need for you to act like this. Although we are all not convinced, we simply can't do anything!"

Leonard swept across the room with icy gazes. And no one dared to meet him in the eyes. He sat up and said in a deep voice, "Unfortunately, I refuse to be misled by fallacies!"

Ever since his childhood, Leonard had never suffered such humiliation. And he was not willing to stop here.

One man suddenly suggested, "Oh! By the way, Brother Leonard, didn't he hit you? You can call your Second Uncle. Isn't he the deputy director of D City?"

"Yes! Why didn't I think of it? We can all be your witnesses. And then even if it was a fight, we can lock him up for ten days or half a month."

Leonard squinted his eyes as a touch of gloom crossed his eyes. Then he raised the corner of his mouth slightly, "How come I forgot that?"

After saying that, Leonard dialed the phone number of his Second uncle. After it was connected, Leonard cried, "Second Uncle! I've been beaten!"

On the other end of the phone, Leonard's second uncle replied faintly, "What's going on, Leonard?"

Leonard recounted the specific details of the fighting and even made some exaggerations, completely ignoring his fault. According to the story he told, Jayden Hunter was a devil who dared to do any evil in the world. And it was just because of the fact that he had taken a glance at Emelia Hunter that Jayden Hunter became furious and beat him as well as his men up. And Jayden had also warned him that if he ever thought ill of Emelia, he would let him die without a burial place.

As expected, Leonard's second uncle became furious after hearing this, "Is he so lawless?"

Leonard grieved, "Yes! Uncle, he also said that even God can't do anything about him."

"He is too rampant. Wait. When I go to the bureau tomorrow, I will arrest him for interrogation! I'd like to see who behind him is!"

After hanging up the phone, Leonard sneered, "Jayden Hunter, how dared you were playing with me? When you go to jail, Emelia Hunter will surely be reduced to my plaything!"

Those people shuddered when they saw how fierce Leonard was.

The next day, the scorching sun was hot.

"Bro! Take your time and walk slowly!"

I threw a couple of bottles of frozen mineral water into the car and sent the delivery man away.

"Gulp!" I drank up the water and stared a little grudgingly at the sun overhead.

The weather in D City was just like this. It may have been winter yesterday. But the next day, it might be summer.

I glanced at the time and saw that it was afternoon and I didn't need to help anything in the supermarket. After greeting my foster parents, I rode the electric bicycle towards the local biggest mall.

Yesterday I went into Emelia's room and found that many of her clothes had patches. There was no telling as to how many times they had gone broken.

Over the years, my foster parents had lost everything to track me down. And Emelia didn't even bear to buy clothes all year round.

When I went into the mall and found a store selling women's clothing. The sales clerk was a little hesitant to see me come in as a grown man, wondering whether she should entertain me.

I came to the front of a dummy by the window and stared at a red dress it was wearing.

When I had been here with Emelia last time, she had looked at this dress for a long time while standing in front of this dummy. It was just that the dress was too expensive, costing over six thousand dollars. Although I had said that I'd buy it for her, she hadn't agreed.

I was going to give her a surprise today!

"Sales Clerk!" I called out. And the hesitant sales clerk came awkwardly to the front of me and asked, "Would you like to try it, Sir?"

I was stunned and said helplessly, "You're overthinking it. I am buying it for... my sister."

The sales clerk breathed a sigh of relief, "I thought... But this dress is a bit expensive and there's no discount yet."

I nodded, pulled my card straight out of my pocket, handed it to her as I said, "Well, okay! Just swipe it."

There was a lot of dust on my body because of the unloading. So my personal image was not good, making her misunderstand me.

"Mr. Austin, this dress is so beautiful. Can you buy me one?" A feminine voice came from the doorway.

"It is just stuff costing thousands of dollars. Go and buy it." It was a casual and yet domineering male voice.

At this time, a well-dressed-up woman with heavy make-up stopped the sales clerk and said arrogantly, "Take one for me as well, by the way."

The waiter smiled awkwardly, "I'm sorry, Miss, this is the last one in the shop."

"What?" The woman was stunned. Then she came to the front of me and said faintly, "Hey, is it okay to give me this dress? I'm willing to pay double the price."

I smiled politely and said, "Sorry, no."

"Mr. Austin!" The woman rushed aggrievedly into the arms of a young man at the door and said petulantly, "That barbarian didn't even want to give it to me!"

"Barbarian?"

"Me?"

I found her words funny and didn't know whether I should laugh or cry. Looking at myself in the mirror, I thought that I was obviously very manly.

Austin Grant came to the front of me, looking cynical and flirtatious. Then he frowned at me, "Kid, I've got my eye on this dress. You can buy it next time! My dad owns this mall!"

The tone of his voice was with undoubted determination. It seemed that he wouldn't even give me a chance to think about it at all.

I was still smiling, "No!"

Austin smiled, "It's okay. You'll give it to me!"

After saying this, Austin directly pulled out his cell phone, dialed a number, and stated the name of this shop. A few minutes later, a middle-aged man in a suit with a sweaty head rushed into the shop and nodded to Austin, "Mr. Austin, you... Why are you here?"

Austin pointed at the dress in the sales clerk's hand, "Manager Louis, as for this dress, my woman wants it. But according to the sales clerk, it's the last one in the store. What do you think?"

Manager Louis snapped, "Give the clothes to Mr. Austin now!"

The sales clerk was frightened and left me with a hesitant glance, "Manager Louis, but this gentleman asked for the dress first."

"Shut up!" Manager Louis scolded her angrily, "Do you still want to work here? Do you believe that I'm going to make a phone call right now and ask your store manager to fire you?"

The sales clerk was teary-eyed, feeling that she had been wronged. Then she said aggrievedly, "But… "

"There are no buts!" Manager Louis sneered, "Do you know who Mr. Austin is? Give it to him quickly. I don't want to repeat it twice!"

Under the threat of entitlement, the sales clerk bit her lips and handed the woman the dress.

The woman curled up her lips, looked smug, and was about to take over the dress. However, I suddenly said, "Hold on a second."

"What?" Austin raised his eyebrows and teased, "Do you have a problem with that?"

I smiled faintly, "Since you called someone on the phone over here, I can do so as well, right?"

Austin was stunned. Then he laughed out and scoffed, "Fine! Fine! You can make your call! I'll see who you can call over here!"

I pulled out the shabby phone from my pocket that had been off for a few days. In this age of smartphones, a keyboard machine like mine had been obsolete for a long time.

The woman rolled her eyes and said in a bad mood, "In the current society, how come you still use Nokia?"

And, with playfulness all over his eyes, Austin was sneering.

"Nokia?"

I stared at the phone in stunned silence and saw that the paint on it was falling off.

This mobile had been staying with me for five years!

It was as useful as any cell phone in the current society.

With a global signal and individual channel, I could call out for help with it even if I fell into the abyss.

But this Nokia wasn't something that people could buy with cash. This was a special mobile phone used by Declan Hart for the training of the "Dragon Team". It was also a treasure that some top dignitaries were eager to buy.

After I left Burma, I turned it off. But I couldn't bear to throw it away for the fact that it was a record of my working as an undercover for five years.

My eyes were inexplicably stinging.

"I shouldn't feel so because of the desire to shed tears," I thought to myself.

I opened my address book, looked at the familiar callers-ID on it one after another, and laughed bitterly. Then I finally chose one and dialed it over.

Almost at the moment when I dialed, the call was connected.

"Ross! Is that you? Ross!" An ecstatic voice came from the other end of the phone.

I was silent for a moment. I tilted my head back, fearing that tears would fall. Then I smiled, "Yes!"

"Haha! You want to go to the Dragon Team, don't you? I'll tell that old Peter Pan named Declan Hart right away."

"Don't. I need to trouble you with something right now."

"What is it? Just tell me!"

"You created the JQK brand, right? If I remembered it correctly?"

"Yes. After quitting the Dragon Team, I went into business with my family."

"There is a dress in a store of yours in D City that I am bound to get. Can you accommodate me?"

"Nonsense! Since you speak, the whole store will be yours! I get it. Wait for thirty seconds!"

After I hung up the phone, Austin scowled at me, "Judging from your tone, did you make a call to the creator of JQK?"

"Sort of," I humbly said.

"Do you have any idea as to how much influence JQK has? Do you know who their boss is?" Austin sneered.

"Joe Walker!" I recalled a memory.

"Joe Walker? Nonsense." Austin was speechless, "Don't try to get in good with him, okay? Why are you pretending like this? I'll see how you'll end up later."

However, as Austin was showing off to me, Manager Louis's phone suddenly rang. As he looked at the caller-ID, his eyes lit up. Then he hurriedly answered the call.

After a brief call, Manager Louis's face was gloomy. Putting away the phone, he said to the sales clerk without question, "Give the dress to this gentleman!"

As Austin heard his words, he looked high and mighty as he said, "It looks like your phone is useless, huh? See, doesn't the dress still belong to me?"

Afterward, Austin was about to take the dress handed to him by the sales clerk. However, Manager Louis growled, "You gave it to the wrong person!"

The sales clerk was stunned abruptly. Then she turned her head numbly and looked at me incredulously.

I stepped forward, took the dress over, and smiled, "Go ahead and swipe my card."
