Chapter 175: Can't Hide It Any Longer

The pinch sobered Charlotte up.

Even though she was bathing in the warm bathtub with Jason's chest behind her, she still felt a chill down her spine.

She looked down at her underwater belly, and there was indeed a noticeable bulge.

Jason thought she was in shock and smiled lightly, "Didn't think of that yourself?"

Charlotte was flustered but replied calmly, "No. Looks like I have to work harder on my body management." At the same time, in order to divert his attention, she changed the topic. "It's really not worth it to be angry at you, Mr. Langley."

Hearing her admit that she was angry, Jason was in a good mood for some reason. He calmly explained, "The designer recommended by Stella has worked for Langley Group before. It is not too much to give him a product position."

Charlotte did not know about this and was a bit surprised. "Then why didn't he come before?"

"He likes Stella."

With Jason's brief answer, Charlotte immediately understood the cause and effect.

She was no longer depressed, but she still didn't look pleased.

Despite knowing that there would always be a day when she would show her pregnancy, and being able to hide it until now was already beyond the reach of ordinary people, she still had some belated panic.

If Jason really found out, how would she explain?

She couldn't possibly say that it was Silas's baby.

Jason saw that she didn't reply for a long time and tilted his head to look at her. "Are you asleep?"

Charlotte obediently answered, "Well, I'm a bit sleepy."

"Then go to sleep first." Jason was very lenient, even thoughtfully drying her with a towel and carrying her to the bed.

However, Jason didn't lie down, only saying softly, "I'm going to work."

Then came the soft sound of the door closing.

After every time they had sex, he always seemed extraordinarily gentle, which made Charlotte understand.

Charlotte looked at the ceiling, completely unable to sleep. She took her cell phone to send a message to Dr. Zellweger. "It's starting to show. Is there any way to hide it?"

Dr. Zellweger replied quickly, "Come to the hospital."

She looked at the message and pondered about going to the hospital tomorrow night while Jason went to Mr. Lloyd's birthday banquet. She asked Yvonne to go with her.

Yvonne quickly sent a location over. Her flight just landed in Novern.

Charlotte was typing. when her friend sent another message. "Let Silas go with you. Only he and I know what's going on. It's safer than going there on your own."

Charlotte stopped typing, thought for a moment, and refused, "Forget it, I'll go by myself."

The next day at 6 p.m., Charlotte arranged everything in advance and methodically reported, "Your chauffeur is waiting outside the company, and the dress is in the changing room."

Jason nodded and raised his eyebrows when he heard the latter sentence. "You're not going?"

"Should I go?" Charlotte asked rhetorically. "I'm afraid that's not a good idea."

Jason thought slightly and pursed his lips. "It's better if you don't go."

Charlotte sighed in relief, afraid that he would really bring her there.

After watching Jason leave in his car, Charlotte put her work phone on silent mode and took a taxi to the hospital.

Just as she arrived at the entrance, she saw a familiar bored figure sitting in a chair.

Charlotte wasn't surprised, walking over to greet him, "Mr. Hoyce, did Yvonne ask you to come here?"

"Charlotte! Why didn't you call me for such a big deal? Are we still so distant?" Silas was always full of energy. There were some complaints and aggravations when he spoke, but he still explained, "Ms. Froyer was commissioned by me to go to Novern, so it's only reasonable for me to come over instead."

What he said made Charlotte feel better.

She nodded and went with Silas to Dr. Zellweger's office.

Dr. Zellweger was slightly surprised when he saw Silas, "Why are you here too, Mr. Hoyce?"

"Charlotte's friend didn't have time." Facing Dr. Zellweger, Silas got serious and explained lightly.

Dr. Zellweger didn't say much and went straight to the point, giving Charlotte a series of checkups and explaining succinctly, "Everything is normal now, and the degree of pregnancy is already considered very late. With the normal use of medication later on, the final degree of pregnancy will be like this."

He showed a picture to show the degree of augmentation about five months under the normal state of pregnancy.

It wasn't really noticeable to someone who was slightly chubby, but it was still somewhat of a manifest presence for Charlotte.

She tightened her brows and stared at the picture for a long time.

Dr. Zellweger saw this and simply stated, "You're working right next to Mr. Langley. Sooner or later, he'll know about your pregnancy. It's better to plan ahead."

Charlotte thought of Jason's recent gentleness and had an idea that she wasn't supposed to have.

"Thank you, Dr. Zellweger. I'll leave." She hid her emotions and said goodbye to Dr. Zellweger.

Silas thoughtfully followed her, taking the initiative to break the silence after walking out of the hospital. "Charlotte, you should know that my promise still counts."

His brief words eased Charlotte's anxiety.

She retorted with a light smile, "Do you really think the paternity test is a child's play?"

"I can work on that." Silas rarely did not joke and stood still before stating his attitude in a serious and earnest manner, "If you decide to raise this child with him, you'll have my blessing."

That wasn't likely to happen.

Charlotte narrowed her eyes with a worried look on her face. Still, she thanked Silas for his kindness first. "I'll keep it in min. If it really comes to that, I'll come to you for help."

Silas was full of skepticism, as if confirming.

Charlotte avoided his eyes and changed the topic. "Let's go eat. My treat."

"Okay." Silas wouldn't oppose any of Charlotte's opinions and obediently began to pick a restaurant, "It seems like there's a new chef at Paker Hotel. The food he makes is nice."

Paker Hotel sounded somewhat familiar to Charlotte.

But she couldn't think of the reason for a moment. She merely nodded in agreement with Silas' recommendation.

The two arrived at the hotel, where the entrance was parked with many luxury cars. The receptionists there were exceptionally well-trained.

Charlotte keenly felt the anomaly and asked Silas, who was more knowledgeable, "Is someone holding a banquet here?"

Silas skillfully handed over the keys to the parking boy and replied as he got out of the car, "It's normal. Paker is usually so crowded."

But these words did not dispel Charlotte's doubts.

She couldn't help but observe the cars parked outside. At first glance, she found that there were quite a few familiar-looking cars.

"Please show me the invitation." The receptionist stopped the two and reminded them without a smile.

Silas was about to ask when Charlotte saw Jason standing in the doorway. She was so shocked that she hurriedly turned around, getting close to Silas and whispering, "Let's go. It's Mr. Lloyd's birthday banquet."

"Mr. Lloyd?"

Before Silas could ask further, Charlotte had already turned around and descended the steps to leave.

A low male voice suddenly stopped her. "You're already here. Where are you going?"

Charlotte thought, 'Damn. He still sees me.'

Charlotte straightened her expression and turned around to put on a smile. "Mr. Langley, I didn't expect Mr. Lloyd's birthday banquet to be scheduled here."

Jason's darkened eyes stopped for a second on Silas and then returned to Charlotte. Thinking about something, he turned to the receptionist and said, "Let them in. They are my friends."
