UNKNOWN’S POV

I apparated into the tree “I don't think this was a good idea aunt” I heaved a sigh the moment I set my feet on the ground. “Why?, what happened?” She said and immediately got up, moving closer to me.

“I don't think she'll accept me, she seem shocked” I said, my face red from embarrassment.

“Don't say that!, I'm sure she wasn't able to take her eyes off you” she replied instead and smirked.

“I'm serious aunt, she was shocked and didn't took it well” “Appearing to her in the dream seems to be the worst decision aunt, I scared her big time!” I said,ruffling my hair and pacing around the room.

“See you, you claimed not to like her yet look at how concerned you are right now just because she didn't fall for you” she teased.

“It's not what you think aunt, when I told her what you asked me to tell her, she just looked at me like I've gone completely nuts!” I said in frustration.

“I don't think appearing to her in her dream is the ideal thing to do. Why not just let me appear physically so-”

“Don't say that, she'll be terrified and might tell me people about your existence, you don't want to expose yourself to such danger do you?” She asked, looking at me intently.

“You said I'm on par with the devil right?”

“Yes, you can decide to conquer the world if you-”

“I'm not interested in that please!” I cut her off. “ I will make her like me-”

“You love her right?” She quickly asked, cutting me off and my ears reddened instantly.

“N-no that was not what I meant- I mean I'll make her like me and see me as someone she could trust, yunno.. just to gain her trust-”

“It's okay if you don't want to admit that you're beginning to fall in love though, but be careful - she's a werewolf and you are a complete different specie, her species might not welcome you easily. Infact, they might see you as a threat and then start plotting against you-”

“Okay aunt, I've heard you “ I cut her off with a smile.

“Alright then, I'll be in the kitchen” she said and walked out.

I heaved a sigh of relief afterwards as I try to reason with her for the first time. Yes, I think I'm in love with her but when I fell in love with her is what I'm still trying to figure out. She's beautiful, no doubt but was that why I fell in love with her?? I don't think so. It's more than that, it's something else that drew my attention about her and that's her good heart. There's something about the way she looked at me- with so much tenderness and care, she had some empathy for a monster that could have easily torn her into pieces.

On very rare occasions where I mistakenly appear to few travellers in my monster form, they had looked at me with so much fear and hatred in their eyes and those looks had hurt me over the years although I wiped their memories,making sure there's no residue of my image left in their memory. But in her case, it was the opposite- that was the first time someone would look at me with so much admiration, care and empathy and I think it was then I fell in love with her. Yes, that's it.

We instantly connected on a very deep level the moment she touched me and I wondered why and hearing my aunt tell me she's my mate has further fueled my desire to be with her. “She's your mate, the earlier you accept this-the better for you” her words resounded in my ears as I made a resolution not to give up on her. I will make her like me, love me and want me.

Although I protested when she advised me to appear in her dreams, I somehow knew it wasn't going to work out and it never did. She was terrified and uncomfortable and I didn't like that- she seems to like my human form judging from the way she gawked at me but that wasn't enough for me. I wanted her whole heart and I wanted her to love me in any form or body.

I never told her that we were mates though, just had to lie to aunt so she could free me from her incessant and uncomfortable queries. I disappeared just before the words could come out of my mouth because I was afraid of her rejection.

She caught my attention the first time we met but I never want to involve her in my lonely, dark and boring life so I decided to let go of her but after reconsidering the whole thing, I felt like giving it a trial.

“How did you know that she's my mate, aunt?,I thought this mate of a thing is only for wolves and werewolves-”

“You are different from wolves and werewolves dear, but you both have a similar way of getting a life partner and this similarity is what attracted her to you-”

“I don't understand, aunt”

“Don't worry dear, you won't. But whatever energy that flowed from her to you has automatically marked you as her mate and vice versa-”

“Whatttttt?!!!” I screamed out in shock.

“Yes dear, she's your fated mate and you need to claim her as soon as possible” she had said and I became confused as ever.

“What do you mean by that?!” I had asked her in confusion.

“I meant, you should try to get intimate with her as soon as possible, one month maximum-” she said and I blushed in embarrassment.

“Wha-what d-do y-you mean?!” I stuttered. “ She doesn't even like me!!” I shouted, my nose almost bleeding out in embarrassment.

“But you like her don't you?, now that's something to start with” she had said chuckling at my flushed face.

“What if I don't want to be with her?” I asked, trying to convince her.

“Then she will-”
