ALPHA LOGAN'S POV
Its been over two months now and I still haven't heard anything from Dante. What could have happened? Has he found Erica and they both decided not to come back? Or was it because I threatened him not to come back if he did not see Erica? I wondered as I read the book I was recently gifted by my friend. I can't help but imagine how I'll react if Erica is not found. She's the only bait I have against her father right now and they must not meet before then. I said, trying as hard as possible to focus on the book which is not working.
I dropped the book on the table with a loud bang,frustration evident. I scratched my hair vigorously thinking of what to do. I eventually made up my mind to deploy more soldiers to the forests to search for both Erica, Dante and his guards. They might be in danger… who knows? And if eventually Dante deceived me, they should bring both him and his entourage here, dead or alive. I said as I thought about his Aunt’s message two days ago.

She had barged in unexpectedly screaming out her lungs like a mother whose child had been killed in her presence. “You old fool!, Wicked father! murderer!” “ If anything happens to my sister's son you're gonna regret it, I promise you that!” she said, looking at me with so much hostility evident in her wrinkled eyes. I gently stood up from the chair and said to her as calmly as possible: “ Oh dearest Aunt, your son has gone on a short trip, he's not hiding in my chambers as you can see” I said and smirked.
“Shut up you devil paraded in the form of a father!, you are not worthy to be called a father, Logan!” “I heard everything about what you did to him and how you had been treating him that was why I came to visit him only to be greeted with the information that you sent him out to the forests…” “Aunty Cece calm down!” I interrupted her with a harsh voice and she shrinked back in fear while still trying to feign courage and I smirked when I noticed this.
“It's so obvious that you don't know a thing about what happened and you can't just barge in here and judge me without hearing my side of the story”, “ it's quite unfair, don't you think so?” I said with a much calmer voice this time around and sat down. “You see… your ‘son’ has stepped on a Cobra's tail and whatever consequence he faces is his business!” I said while emphasizing on the word ‘son’ in order to get her attention.
“You heard I recently got married to a young girl, didn't you?I know you did because I personally sent you the invitation letter. '' I said, smiling devilishly. “So your ‘son’ has his eyes on my wife, claiming she's his mate which is a lie!” I shouted, remembering how he had challenged me on my wedding day. “He did not stop at that, but went on to start having sex with her, I tried enough for him, or what do you think?” “I could have cut off his head and send it to you on a silver platter but I didn't, why though?” “Because I love him so much and I want him to enj-oy” I said, emphasizing on the last word and laughed hysterically.
“And now I can't find my wife!” I suddenly shouted, scaring the old woman the more. “So I asked him to go and look for ‘our wife’, wherever she may be!” “And as the good boy that he is, he obeyed me so I don't know why you would come here to criticize a caring Father” I said and laughed hysterically again. “j-j-just look at you!, ain't you ashamed of yourself?, you dare open your stinky mouth to tell me these horrible things!” She shouted at me, crying.
“Are you trying to tell me that you love my son more than I do?”, I asked, furiously. “You are senseless, Alpha Logan!, you are stupid as well, you are dragging a young girl with your son and you are proud to say it out?”, “I'm ashamed on your behalf, Logan! And listen to me, don't think I'm afraid of you like I was many years back, and don't you think you can threaten me like you did back then too because it's not gonna work!!” “I'm not gonna let you bully me like you did to his mother until she died! I'm not gonna let you kill him like you did to his mother, you son of a bitch!” She cussed out loud and I grabbed her by the neck, shaking with anger.
One of the things I hate people talking about the most is the fact that I killed his mother. Which was true, considering how I treated her and I regretted it later on. So stirring up my memories in this conversation would not help any of us but would only aggravate me further. I had threatened her into lying to my son about whatever I had done to his mother and she accepted and did so.
“Don't you think you're overstepping your boundaries woman!” I said,squeezing her neck while she choked in fear as tears rushed down her cheeks, I released her after seeing this and ordered her to be thrown out of my chambers. She looked me deeply in the eyes and said something incoherent before being dragged out of the room. I wasn't really sure I heard all what she said but I was sure she swore she's gonna kill me even if it'll cost her her life if anything bad happens to Dante.
I came back from my reverie and called my head and strongest soldier, Asunder. “I want you to select the strongest of your folks and together y'all should enter the forests and bring back Alpha Dante and his entourage here dead or alive!, block and kill anything that comes in your way if there's a threat!. I ordered. “Yes alpha, " he said, bowing and leaving.
