Chapter 17

ALPHA DANTE'S POV

I've been wandering in the forests with my guards for over two weeks now, looking for Erica but she's nowhere to be found. I can't help but be scared about the whole thing. “Where could she have gone?” I muttered to myself as I try hard to control my emotions in front of my guards. My father had sent me out of the pack to look for her as he claimed I knew where she is. “Go and look for Erica” he had roared with blazing red eyes.” “And do not come back until you find her!” he roared once again.

I had no other option but to heed to him this time around because I was becoming really scared for Erica. I was heartbroken too because I can't just imagine what could have led to her escape. And with the way my father my father was acting, I doubted if he was the one that hid her. She's too important to him than any other thing right now, so he couldn't have possibly hid her. I thought to myself as I pack some of my belongings for the journey. But before then, I had othered some of my guards to go search the dungeons but they couldn't find her there.

I was rest assured, somehow, that my father didn't know anything about her escape before embarking on the journey. I didn't know when we'll all come back because of my father's order. I thought as I ordered my guards to pack enough food stuffs that'll last for at least three months. Which they did. We wandered and searched the forests, but she was nowhere to be found. We are almost running out of foodstuffs and I can't help but be worried for my guards.

“We are running out of foodstuffs” I thought out loud intentionally trying to get their attention. “Hmmmm” they all muttered back. “What do we do if we finally ran out of foodstuffs, I need suggestions please.” I asked, looking at each of them with a worried expression on my face.

“We can always go back to get more foodstuffs” one suggested.

“Are you stupid or what?, it took us two months to arrive at where we are right now and you think going back would be better?” Another one retorted back to him. And I can't help but reason with him. There's no way in heaven and on earth we'll reach before running out of foodstuffs completely. And moreover, my Father had warned that he doesn't want to see me come back without Erica. I thought bitterly.

“We can feast on the wildfruits around here and hunt for animals, don't forget we are werewolves” the third guard suggested as I reasoned with him immediately. “I think that's what we're gonna do” I said to everyone and they all jubilated as they prepare the fire for roasting some of the potatoes for left. At this point, I only needed someone to reason with, I thought as I called the guard that suggested wildfruits. He seems to be a thoughtful guy.

“Regal” I called out to him as I ordered him to sit beside me which he did. “Have you ever been in love?” I asked him looking into his eyes and trying to read his expressions. He was shocked at first, thsn slowly became shy and looked at his fingernails as he tried hard to avoid my gaze.

“Wh-why a-are you asking?” He asked me nervously and I chuckled silently. “Love can make you weak at times”, I said to one in particular. Seeing Regal, the strongest of my guards acting coy because of a girl is rather amusing. “So you are in love right?” I asked him again and he nodded shyly. “How do you feel about her, I mean before you started dating or something” I asked him again, trying to kill the flies hovering around my leg.

“W-well I've been crushing on her for a while without realizing that she's my mate until the last full moon… we recognized each other as mates and and.. it was such a wonderful feeling Alpha, I kid you not.” He said and blushed. I couldn't help but laugh out loud at his reactions. Seeing my strongest guard in love and not being able to coherently form his words is the funniest thing to me.

“So have you… you know what I'm trying to say”. I said and smiled at him mischievously. “N-no alpha, I don't understand” he said and chuckled shyly but I wasn't ready to give up yet. “I mean have you both been intimate, I mean sexually intimate” I said and smirked. Teasing him seems to make me feel better than I had thought.

He looked down at his fingernails, intertwined them nervously before answering my question. “Y-y-yes Alpha, countless times” he said and blushed uncontrollably. I looked at him and smiled. I was done with him but I don't want to give up on him yet, I enjoyed teasing him than any other thing. “So how did it feel?, I mean you guys being intimate for the first time ever” I asked and smiled,enjoying all the expressions that crossed over his face.

“Well… we were both virgins, nothing spectacular happened Alpha, the first wasn't really enjoyable because we were both novices in the game.. it was bloody and I almost ran off” he said and smiled while I laughed out loud again. “But the second time was much more better, we both had fun” he added and chuckled, fantasizing.

“Oh really?” “I'm sure you couldn't find the right place on your first night together” I said to him,still trying to tease him. “Wha-what?” he said, got up and ran away while I was almost rolling on the floor in laughter. He's the best in releasing some stress. I muttered to myself still laughing out loud

Lunch is ready Alpha, they called out to me as I joined them. I noticed Regal still trying hard to avoid me and I couldn't help but chuckle.
