Chapter 44 Forty four

Chapter 44 Forty four
THOMAS POV'S
I walked into Brenda's room as she sat on her bed, "So what is your decision, Prince Lycan?" She said looking at me straight in the eyes and I sighed.
"You may stay on the battlefield...."She was about to jump up from the bed but I quickly added.
"But you will stay with the planner wolves,"
She looked at me like I had gone mad, but I stood firm and crossed my arms, staring back at her firmly.
"What do you mean by planner wolves?"
"The planner wolves are those who record the amazing feats of battles for the future battles to read into strategies and also to..."
"You are going to throw me behind a desk? I want to be on the battlefield..."
"You will be, "Why was I trying so hard to convince her.
"But at a safer distance away from the border, you can still see things happening you are just as involved as you will be coming up with battle plans."
She stared at me for the longest time, looking bleached, "So that's it? What has all my training been for then?"
I told the guard wolf to excuse us and then turned back to her, "They will be useful for self-defense and all that, but for now I would appreciate it if you focus on the task that you have been given,"
A dry chuckle escaped her lips, "I guess, I have no choice right? No matter what I do your will is the ultimate decision, how can I a mere she-wolf what the Lycan prince has said?"
The mockery in her voice was deep but I chose to ignore it, that was of no importance right now.
She had never seen a real battle-at least, not one that I knew of-she hadn't come to the raw horror of battle.
One day she would understand that I was doing this for her own well-being.
After saying that I walked out of the room with a quiet goodnight and also informed her that the arrangements for ger to join the planner wolves would be ready and so she should be ready by dawn.
It was when I said this that I noticed something funny about the room but I kept my lips tight against asking.
As the door closed behind me, I heard her voice following close behind.
 "Goodnight, Prince Thomas."

I slung my backpack on my back and strapped it tight, it was already midnight, and fortunately for me, it was a full moon. I don't know if it was a myth or not but my father told me that it was mostly werewolves that saw best under the moon's light far better than vampires.
For my sake right now, I hope that this is more than a myth, Thomas's face flashed through my mind and Avery my wolf walked for me not to leave him.
"If you just show him that you are capable, he'll...he'll definitely change his mind if not for anyone at least for you."
I held the curtains of the window as they were dancing with the night breeze.
"I don't have time to waste, Avery, every day I spend getting stronger a bastard traitor that destroyed my family has another to live, I can't wait to be held back...even if it's by my mate,"
With that I shifted into my wolf form and dashed into the night, bouncing on the soil with every passionate leap of my paws until I suddenly heard some behind me.
How was that possible? I knew that 12 was also when they Switched the guarding wolves. So they should have been preoccupied.
Now how were they already on my tail?
The guard wolves might have spotted me, I leaped into a bush with a gasp.
"Did you see her there just now?"
"I did, do you think that it could be a rogue wolf?"
"It didn't smell like one though,"
The two that had been chasing me in their normal forms said to each other and then I felt the presence of another joining them.
"What are all of you doing? Where is Miss Brenda?"She barked at both of them.
I shifted back to my normal form and even rubbed dirt on myself because that would cloak my scent but before I could creep away I felt someone's heavy breathing on my shoulder.
I didn't need to turn at that moment to know who it was, it was already far too clear.
"How did you know that I was going to run away?"
 There was a pause.
"You already made it so obvious how. Making to this battle was the most important thing to you....even more than your own life,"
My fingers sunk into the soil.
"What about you, you aren't exactly bulletproof last time I checked, "I said to him.
 "Is that all though?"
There was another awkward pause, "When I walked into your room earlier. I noticed that it was looking s little scantier than before...it was all too obvious so I told the guards to keep an eye out "
I took a calm careful breath, "If you are going to think that you are going to be able to take me to join the planners I'm afraid that you will only meet disappointment."
 "That's it,"
He stood up the leaves rustling under his feet.
"I've had it up to here with you. I am your prince and my word is final."
I turned and looked at him and it was like staring into dark dreadful clouds and I just couldn't look away. I couldn't even move my body either.
"You will come with me to the cabin,"
He said and without any control over my own lips, I responded mechanically.
 "I will,"
Then I got up and began to make my way back not minding the eyes that were on me.
Nothing mattered to my body at that moment, the fact that I abandoned my bag pack, the scraping of stray branches, and all that.
 Nothing.
My whole entity was just invested in the cabin, then when I finally got there I felt empty until Thomas came behind me and said.
 "Now head to my bedroom."
