Chapter 155 The Alpha’s Sacred Place
Chapter 155 The Alpha’s Sacred Place
Kieran walked toward me, and before I could say anything else, his hands settled around my waist. He gently pulled me closer until there was barely any space between us.
I looked up at him, still trying to take in everything he had just shown me.
“Well, this is a very special place,” he said, his voice softer than usual.
I waited for him to continue.
“This was where my late mom used to be. You know, this was her favorite spot.”
His expression changed as he looked around the garden.
There was something different in his eyes now. The playful smile he had been wearing earlier had disappeared, replaced by a quiet expression filled with memories.
“This is where I would sleep on her lap,” he continued. “Whenever I was younger, she would bring me here. Sometimes I would fall asleep while she sang to me, and other times we would just sit here and talk.”
I listened quietly. “I have never shown this place to anyone,” he said. “I mean, no one in this pack knew about it apart from my family. They always knew it was a very special place to me.”
His hands remained around my waist.
“I brought you here because now you are very, very special to me.”
My heart warmed at his words, I didn't know what to say.
For some reason, my eyes began to sting, and before I could stop myself, a tear slipped down my cheek.
Kieran immediately noticed it.
His hand moved to my face, and he gently wiped the tear away with his thumb.
“Why are you crying?” he asked.
I looked at him, unable to find the right words.
I wanted to scream, I wanted to hug him tightly and tell him how much those words meant to me.
He was the first person who had ever made me feel this way.
Even when I was staying with Alex, I had never received this kind of affection from him. I had never felt this important to someone. I had never been taken somewhere so special and told that I mattered.
With Kieran, everything felt different.
It wasn't only the expensive clothes or the way he treated me in front of everyone.
It was the little things.
The way he held my hand, the way he looked at me. The way he listened when I spoke.
The way he made me feel as though I wasn't something he had to tolerate.
I had spent so much time feeling unwanted that I didn't know how to react to being loved so openly.
I wiped my cheek with the back of my hand.
“I don't know why I'm crying,” I admitted softly.
Kieran smiled. “Don't worry. I know what's on your mind.”
He gently brushed another strand of hair away from my face.
“I don't want anything to spoil this moment.”
He looked toward the swing.
“Come, let's go to the swing.”
I nodded. He took my hand and led me toward it.
The swing was even more beautiful up close. Its white frame looked almost silver beneath the moonlight, and the flowers surrounding it made the entire place feel peaceful.
Kieran helped me sit down carefully before sitting beside me.
He adjusted himself comfortably, then pushed his feet against the ground.
Slowly, the swing began to move. Back and forth.
The gentle movement made me relax almost immediately. I looked around the garden.
The moon was shining above us, and its soft light spread across the flowers. The fireflies continued moving between the plants, creating tiny flashes of light around us.
It felt as though we were sitting beneath the moonlight itself.
I had never imagined that I would experience something like this.
For once, I wasn't thinking about my past.
I wasn't thinking about Alex. I wasn't thinking about the rumors.
I wasn't thinking about what people might say about me.
I was simply sitting beside Kieran.
And I was happy, I turned toward him.
He was already looking at me.
A smile rested on his lips, I smiled back.
To be honest, I preferred this version of Kieran.
I liked seeing him smile more than seeing him angry, sad, or cold.
Whenever he was serious, there was something intimidating about him. But when he smiled like this, he looked completely different.
He looked peaceful and happy, and somehow, it made him even more handsome. I found myself staring at him for longer than I intended.
“You know, you should always smile more,” he said.
I blinked. “How did you know?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Know what?”
“That I was thinking about that.”
He chuckled. “You were staring at me.”
I immediately looked away. “I wasn't.”
“You were.” I shook my head, trying to hide my smile.
He laughed quietly. “Fine. Maybe you weren't.”
I glanced at him again, he was still smiling.
“Don't worry,” I said. “I will smile more.” I chuckled.
“Good.” We both turned our attention toward the moon.
For a while, neither of us spoke, the silence wasn't uncomfortable.
It was peaceful, I slowly leaned toward him and rested my head on his shoulder.
He didn't move away, Instead, I felt his arm settle gently around me.
I closed my eyes. The first thing I noticed was his warmth.
Then I heard the rhythmic sound of his heartbeat beneath my ear, It was steady and calm.
I listened to it quietly, allowing myself to relax completely.
“Kieran?”
“Yes?”
“Thank you.” I whispered and He looked down at me. “For what?”
“For bringing me here.”
He was quiet for a moment. “You don't have to thank me.”
“I do.” I replied. I lifted my head slightly so I could look at him.
“This place means so much to you, and you still brought me here.”
His expression softened. “I wanted you to see it.”
I smiled. “I feel honored.”
He gently touched my cheek. “You should.”
