CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

We moved for so many minutes and my hunger was engulfing me and I was becoming a little bit angry but finally we got to the restaurant.

"Finally" I said, heaving a sigh of relief as we stepped out of the car and moved into the restaurant.

I found the perfect spot and we settled down to have some food. I looked through their menu and I wanted French cuisine for breakfast.

"I would have the Oeuf à la coque and the croissant." I said to the waiter.

"I would have chicken and wine. " Sebastian said.

"You really are a heavy eater." He said laughing.

" I have to satisfy my worms." I replied.

We were served the food and I immersed myself into it engulfing each piece as if my life depended on it. The hunger I felt was different and it was growing each day. When I was done. I was waiting for the surprise but I saw nothing. So I decided to ask him "where's the surprise you had for me."I asked frowning.

"Is that why you're frowning?" He asked " I would take you to it. I wanted you to finish eating your heavy breakfast." He said laughing.

"Let's go," he said as we left the restaurant.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you." He said as we moved into the car and he stepped on the gas moving towards where I've never seen my whole life.

We got to a desolate area, the place was filled with trees and seemed more like a forest. I was confused why he brought me here. Was this the surprise? A forest?

" Why are we here?" I was surprised.

"This is the surprise I was talking about." He said

I was curious about what was surprising about a land filled with trees. It was really not what I had expected but I wanted to listen to him.

"What's the surprise?" I asked, showing curiosity and the "not what I had expected" look on my face.

"Remember when we first met you talked about your interest in biotechnology and its importance on our race." He said.

"Yes, I remember when we did that." I said.

"I acquired this land after consulting some of my friends that delved into it, to build a research facility that would be on biotechnology and its effect on our race. And it'll be in your name and you'll be able to learn whatever it is that gets your mind curious." He said.

"Wow…" I said words could not express what I felt my dream was going to come true, I finally had the chance to do what I've always wanted to do. I really loved the feeling I was getting. I was really grateful and my heart swelled in appreciation.

"Thank you so much. I really wanted to give up on that dream but you still came through for men. Words can't really express how I'm feeling right now but the only way I can express what I'm feeling right now is by telling you how much I love you. Thank you for this. I'm grateful." I said as a beautiful smile braced my lips and I looked into his eyes with admiration and love.

"You don't really have to thank me. Remember I told you, you're not alone I'll always be here and I'll help you make the change you want no matter what everything will be fine. I love it too and this is just the beginning of the journey we still have more to share." He said as he looked into my eyes with nothing short of admiration and love.

We surveyed the land and we left the place and started moving back to the palace. I was so fulfilled that my dream was finally coming true. Biotechnology has been my dream since my mother died. I wanted to know the depths of biotechnology. I really want to know everything about how it aids in cancer treatment. I wanted to know why my mother had died without proper treatment.

" I want to know about myself." I said to Sebastian. " I really don't know about our world and I want to know why everything is like this. Vicious power struggle and authoritative rule. I don't know anything about it. Please tell me about it. I feel like I'm lost in this world, and everybody else knows apart from me. It's really crazy isn't it?"

He looked at me and smiled. " What do you really want to know this time?"

"Let's start with Ayesha, what's the deal with her? Why does she keep appearing and disappearing in your life? Why does it feel like everything about her is a mystery. I always feel these dangerous vibes when I'm around her. What does she want from you and why does she have against me?

These questions have lingered on in my heart for several days now and I really don't want to lose you. I want to be able to defend myself and stay by your side." I said.

"Ayesha….. I told you almost everything about her. But there's a particular thing she did that turned me off from her forever. "

It was on a sunny afternoon after I had become king and she had travelled abroad for her degrees. I was in the palace when I received a text that she had gotten lost on her way somewhere and I was really scared, but I didn't know what to do. I immediately left the palace to look for her, but what I saw was shocking."

What did you see? I wanted to know the real deal of what he wants to say. I was ready to listen to everything he wanted to say about Ayesha. I didn't want to lose any fact as I listened intently to the details of what he was offering me.

"I…. I really don't know how to say it, it was the most shameful act I've ever seen in my life. I really felt everything slip and even if I wanted to manage her I couldn't anymore. I hated her but now she disgusted me and I was determined to let it go."
