Kayden's point of view
I watched her stand before me looking at me with disdain, it was unbelievable. I wondered why. "what's wrong, Nina?" I asked her, but she said nothing. She only ran outside in a fit of tears, that was when I realized something was definitely deeply wrong.
The doctor allowed me leave that same day and I was allowed to go back home. I found Jessica by the way and she was still acting weird and the same. I was almost convinced that I had amnesia due to how everything seemed so different. It was like I never lived it.
I returned back home and waited till evening when Nina had finally returned to go speak to her. Her door was locked and I couldn't get in by myself. I knocked a few times but she wouldn't open up. I heard movements and was sure that she was definitely in there. Just ignoring me because she wanted to.
"What's the problem?" I shouted from outside the door.
I saw Jessica who came out from her own room and came to ask what was gonna on. If I hadn't been inexplicably irritated with her earlier, I would have replied or said something. I left there and simply went to my room. I was too weak to keep trying to do that much on Nina.
I fell asleep and had a strange dream, in it, I saw myself with Jessica and it looked like we were in love. She helped hands with me and we went about doing different things together. I saw Nina at a corner, sobbing from what she saw, I immediately woke up when I couldn't take it anymore.
I thought about Jessica and the attempts she made on me a while back. Maybe that was what happened and that was what was going on. I had let myself get overtaken by her without knowing.
I was immediately angry and went to her room, banging the door loudly without giving regard to whoever might have heard.
She sleepily appears behind her door and I pulled her out by her hair.
"If you don't tell me what has been happening these past few days, I promise I won't spare you!" I barked at her. She looked shaken.
"I don't know what you mean. What are you saying?" She replied to me. I was sure she was only playing oblivious to what I was saying and knew very much what was going on, I just needed to get answers out of her.
"What has been happening these past few days or weeks." I asked again.
"I don't know what you mean. We were together. You loved me and that's everything that has been happening. What do you even mean? You're hurting me." She protested.
I left her hair alone and finally figured it out, it had been witchcraft all along.
" Guards! " I shouted, but no one appeared.
I was irritated when it almost took up to a minute for one of them to appear.
" Take this lady and lock her away till she has confessed all her sins." I instructed him and left.
I went back to bed, but after knowing all that was going on, there was no possible way I would be sleeping anytime soon.
Waking up the second day, it was as if I was somewhere else, it didn't feel like the pack house with how much arrangements had been implemented and how things looked very different. I had breakfast all alone. Nina had refused to come out and she wasn't answering when I went to her room, I was convinced that Jessica had a hand in it.
"If you can hear me, I want you to know that Jessica is a witch and there's a lot you need to know. Please, come outside so we can talk." I pleaded with her.
I got a call later in the afternoon and it said I was running late on a meeting. It was from Silver Warriors pack which I didn't even remember scheduling meeting with. It was unexpected. " What are the things that happened while I wasn't myself! " I was worried.
They were respectable people so I rushed to go there to go meet with them even if I had not arranged it.
After the meeting, I tried calling the elders to know if there was a decree I had made that was strange or any external changes had been made to the pack. It was crazy what Jessica had done to me.
They said I had not done anything out of the ordinary which was calming. My next stop would be the dungeon where I had Jessica kept. Immediately she saw me, she began to feel tears and I was almost feeling sympathy for her, but I was quick to shut the feeling off.
"Why are you crying when you very much know what you've done?" I asked her.
She wouldn't say a thing but she kept crying.
"What did you do to me?" I shouted at her.
"Nothing," she mumbled amidst her sobs.
After the back and forth which wasn't yielding anything reasonable, I decided to leave and I went back to the house where the guard arrangements were significantly different. They didn't even seem like people I knew and the pack house was still feeling odd.
I went to my office and checked the documents I had. In some of them, I was finding Jessica's signature there, eluding mine. I was surprised and shocked, I checked for other things and there was little to find. It was either she had just had only a short time to live in my head and take decisions or there was more that was hidden already.
I went to Nina again to go check on her and speak to her, but she didn't come out. She wasn't going to come out soon. She had barely come out the whole day and it was either she was starving or she had all she needed in there.
