Chapter 83 DAMIEN'S THE NEXT IN LINE
Evelyn was heartbroken seeing Kallix lying lifeles on the floor. Was it the beast? What happened? Yet after asking that question, none of the both replied her. Kallix has to be taken to the physicians if not he would die. He's still so young, Lord Howard would be mad!
She was in such a distated state that she starts to worry about a prisoner who betrayed the Kingdom. She impulsively tried to move close to him and carry him. But Damien who was by her side pulled her back.
“What do you think you want to do?”
Evelyn's breath was hit, though she didn't cry, she was close to tears. “We need to help the poor boy. He can't die under my watch. I am his only family now.”
Eleanor sighed pitifully. Evelyn looked so poor.
“Your Majesty, nothing will happen to Kallix. He's just wounded and I will tell you why.”
A derive mocking expression appeared on her face, which happened to be a scoff. A Young child's life is in danger, yet they want to tell her the reason for him being hurt.
Damien could already predict her next move,not letting go of her. He apologized, “I am sorry,but I would have to do this. You can't touch him.” Having said that, he forcefully dragged her to take a seat.
Evelyn tried to break free, but she had forgotten that he was a warrior. She couldn't just break free. Sighing with her misty eyes she finally let down. She took in deep breaths.
“Go on! Make it snappy.”
None of the two were pissed with her behavior. They understood her reason for that, Damien most especially did. Ever since Kallix had gotten to the palace, she had tried to envision herself back in the same age. She adored him and Kallix looked up to her as well. But this wasn't the Kallix they both know now. 
“I'll start,” Eleanor said eying Damien. “I will be straight on board.” She needed to be home very soon as well to feed her baby. “Kallix has been possessed. I'm not sure which it is, but the ghost seemed to be allergic to blood.”
Evelyn heart was sent into a frantic waver. “Possessed? This young little kid? How, who could do such thing?”
Evelyn threw questions that even them they don't know the answer to. It would take days before they get the answer to their questions.
Taking a look at Kallix's body on the floor, Evelyn inquired, “was that why Damien hurt him with his sword?”
They were both left speechless, how could she say that with no worries? She said it as if Damien had intentionally hurt him. Damien kept his cool and only shook his head.
Eleanor continued explaining, “Actually, Kallix wanted to hurt him. But Damien outsmarted him, but Damien got hurt. That was when we realized that the spirit doesn't like seeing blood. So Damien did that.”
Evelyn huddled together, trying to envision how painful the stsn would be. Remembering that Damien was hurt as well. She became worried, “Are you okay? Where did you get hurt?”
Damien showed her his hurt hand. “It hurts so badly.” He said childishly, his voice coming out cutely.
Damien waited for her to burst into an uproar of extensive care, but when he raised his head, he only saw four eyes looking up at him weirdly. He realized what he had done wrong.
He couldn't help but keep his head low again. What had come over him? These days he no longer have control over his mind and tongue. His mind would think about Evelyn even when she was not with him. Then he would start to get worried and only relax until he sees her. But then he thought that it was because of his work duty. 
But on getting to her side, only words full of affection comes out of that mouth of his. What has gotten over him?
Eleanor sneered loudly calling back their attention, “Evelyn,mind you both. You have to be carefywitg each other. Damien's blood and Kallix's blood have touched. So it's possible Damien would be the next in line to be possessed.”
Hearing that, Damien reacted swiftly. He stood up from beside Evelyn. Eleanor and Evelyn was left speechless. They hadn't expected Damien to react like that.
“What's wrong?”
Evelyn couldn't really place her head around his action. Was he worried that he had been possessed already?
Damien replied awkwardly, gbe didn't know the reason for that also. He just reacted on impulse. He didn't want Evelyn to be possesed as well. “It's nothing.”
“For now, the ghost beast disturbing you in your sleep will stop. But remember that the beast has a grudge on you. By tomorrow, we will be able to get something out of him. And for Kallix, i am sorry but he have to be tied neatly together. When he wakes up, he will be himself but we can't tell once the sun rises.”
Evelyn sighed dejectedly, it wasn't his fault that the ghost beast entered him. But he had to go through all these. This broke her heart, but she couldn't object. He would have to go through this if there would be peace in the kingdom again.
Damien immediately moved into action, he got a rope to tie Kallix perfectly. His body was still lifeless.
“But his wound, shouldn't it get treated?”
Evelyn worried again.
“Once it's morning, we will get someone to treat his wound. For now, he will remain in your chamber. The day will soon break.”
Evelyn nodded half heartedly after hearing that. She could do nothing else but trust in them now. They know more than her.
Eleanor bid them farewell, "I'll take care of Kallix when he wakes up. For now, I'll head home to my baby." With a nod, she turned to leave, her footsteps echoing softly as she departed into the early morning darkness.
