Chapter 73 KALLIX'S MAGICAL VOICE
Chapter 73 KALLIX'S MAGICAL VOICE
Damien hurriedly led Evelyn to her chamber, his grip on her hand firm and reassuring. Evelyn was terrified but she kept running along with the way Damien dragged her. It seemed like he was trying to run away from someone. She looked behind several times but she couldn't see anyone.
Luckily the corridor was free and they were able to avoid bumping into anyone on their run. Each time she looked back, she felt Damien's hold on her tightened. Therefore she concentrated alk her energy of running with him
He pushed her gently inside and locked the door behind her, his eyes scanning the surrounding area with a mixture of caution and fear.
Evelyn was alarmed immediately, would she really have to stay in this room alone? Wouldn't what they are running from come to her? What sort of msn was Damien?
"Evelyn, stay inside," he whispered urgently through the door. "I'll take care of this."
Evelyn's voice was trembling as she replied, "What's happening, Damien? What's going on?"
But Damien's answer never came. He didn't even seemed to hear her question.
He stood guard outside the door, his senses on high alert. He could feel the presence of the beast, its malevolent energy coursing through the air like a dark and malignant force.
What beast is this? He could recognize that it was a beast with penetrating energy and power. But he couldn't tell the kind of evil spirit it was.
The beast was able to invade the first to the chamber since no one was standing at the door. Someone who could see him, there was no one by the door.
The beast knew where Evelyn was so it made his way directly to the bedroom.
He knew he had to act fast. He began to speak, his voice firm and commanding. "What do you want?" he demanded. "Why I am being tormented? Why are you tormenting these people?"
The beast seemed to have bo time for him. He could feel the vengeance that exuded from the aura. Vengeance, who was wronged in this case and became a beast tormenting the people?
The beast began to use his magic to sway Damien. Damien felt a surge of pain as the beast's power washed over him. He gritted his teeth and focused his thoughts, trying to resist the beast's influence.
The beast's influence made it unable for him to think properly with a sound mind. He was trying to hard, but it wasn't working. At this rate, the beast might manage to successfully tear down the door to Evelyn room. He wouldn't pass through the door pile a ghost would, but tear down the door.
The beast was relentless, its power growing stronger with each passing moment. The beast did its thing effortlessly while Damien's vein was popping like it could remove from his skin if care is not taken.
Damien stumbled backward, his vision blurring. He knew he had to think fast, or the beast would break through the door and claim Evelyn.
With a surge of adrenaline, Damien launched himself at the door, his body shielding it from the beast's power. He began to recite ancient chants, the words spilling out of his mouth in a rhythmic cadence.
Not much energy was left in him as he had vedn used up by the evily beast. The beast seemed to enjoy this part better than any of the moment it had spent in the palace.
The beast howled in response, its power surging wildly as it tried to break through the door. But Damien's chants seemed to be having an effect, holding the beast at bay.
The beast could no lomger move freely, but it's surging energy still filled the air. Evelyn shivered in the room. She had buried her head in the pillow and covered her body heavily. She didn't know what was going on, but she heard Damien's voice. But no response would follow.
She could hear the sound of someone being thrown. She was even more curious to know what they sound was. But she couldn't take the risk to go out and Damien had specifically told her to stay inside.
While she stayed in, she began to wonder if she was really cursed. For a long time, the people had been telling her she wasd cursed. But she never took a minute to think that. But what about now.
What was happening had proved them right. She was indeed cursed. Her tears began to fall helplessly.
Damien keot reciting the ancient chant. As he spoke, the air around him seemed to thicken, the shadow of the beast evident on the wall as it twisted. It seemed like the beast was beginning to feel uncomfortable but unwilling to relent and stop.
Damien was hanging unto a last string. If the beast doesn't stop now, he might actually die, in a normal circumstances. He knew this, but he didn't stop. His case was different.
Damien's voice grew louder, his words becoming more urgent. He knew he was running out of time. The beast was getting stronger, its power growing more potent.
But Damien refused to back down. He continued to recite the chants, his voice ringing out through the corridor.
Damien knew the aftermath of the chant he had been reciting for a while. The chant was a long one abd if he managed to finish reading it and the beast still doesn't back down, the Kingdom will eventually by haunted and taken over by the beasts.
After a while, just before he finished the recitation, the chant seemed to be taking its part in destroying him. Even if not entireky, he would be hurt.
It was because the beast will end up getting hurt that the beast was trying to use every of its force on him now.
The beast was tired, but not ready to go.
“Queen Evelyn,”
As this continued, they heard a little boy's voice from outside the door, followed with a knock on the door. Damien body reacted to the voice. His body calmed down.
Likewise the beast, the best became powerless. The best squinted its ugly face making him become even more unbearable and unpleasant to the eyes.
The fire that had start to engolve his body, died down at once. It became terrified just at the sound of the little boy's face.
Damien could see very well in its body reaction that the beast was getting afraid and looking for a way to go back. The beast wasn't one whuch can fade.
It scanned and sized the room with its blood shot angry eyes. He found a narrow escape and jumped out through the window.
Damien fell to the ground after the beast had escaped. The once filled man had become powerless. He gasped relentlessly for air. He had a narrow escape with the beast.
If the beast doesn't kill him, it might hurt him and then he would he bedridden and end up suffering for many years on his sick bed. He came to the palace for this reason, to find the cause for his longevity.
The little boy's voice came again.
“Your Highness, can I come in?”
Damien finally stopped thinking. He stood up trying to compose himself and act as if nothing had happened.
He opened the door slightly blocking Kallix from entering.
“The Queen is sleeping currently.”
Kallix raised one of his brows in realization, “oh, I will come back then.” He turned around, ready to go. But he suddenly halted in his movement and turned back to look at Damien.
With a furrowed brow, he asked, “Did something happen here?”
