Culiet's Visit
In the Vampire Kingdom, Eidenel had accepted her fate as a Vampire, and plans had come to a conclusion on making her the Vampire Queen.
In the space of three human days, a lot of celebrations had enveloped the Vampire Kingdom. First, it was the Vampire King's marriage to Eidenel, and now, it was that the same woman would become the Queen of the Vampire Kingdom, something that had not happened in a very long time.
Hershire was finished at this point. She was a shadow of her self, in fact, she was beyond a shadow of herself.
Nothing prepared Hershire for what was going on.
Hershire, just as she had noticed during Lord Blackhouse' marriage to Eidenel, noticed again that the kingdom was still busy and boistering with activities.
What was happening?
Hershire had never felt as left out as she was at the moment and for the past few days.
She sat in her cell, wishing that someone would come to pay her a visit as she had not spoken to any soul for the past three days, and that was since when Beam came to make a fool of her and scorn her.
While Hershire was in this state, she suddenly heard footsteps coming her way.
Hershire immediately thought that it was Beam that had come to make fun of her again following the new celebration that was about to happen without her, but to her surprise, the visitor was nonse other than her former best friend, Culiet.
When Hershire saw Culiet, her eyes shone in shock.
''Culie...'' Hershire quickly got up from her chair to approach Culiet, but Culiet's countenance was not welcoming at all.
Hershire quickly backed off as she stood from a distance to look at Culiet. She know what she had done to Culiet in the near past, and knew that Culiet would be far too kind to show her any type of affection, whatsoever.
''Have you also come to mock me?'' Hershire eventually said.
Culiet stared at Hershire with anger and pure hate in her eyes, and after a brief moment of staring Culiet down as well, Hershire broke down into tears.
''Culiet, I am already suffering for my wrong doings, you don't have to rub salt in injury, please. Culiet, I beg you to have mercy on me and tell me a kind word. Just one kind word from you will go a long way in helping me stay here and live probably the rest of my life here. I am dying, Culiet.'' Hershire was beyond breaking point.
Culiet's expression softened a bit, but she still heavily oozed of detestion for Hershire.
''You are only saying this because of the condition that you are in. What of if it was the other way around and I was the only one being kept here because you lied against me, would you have even come to say hello to me? To visit me? Will you not have abandoned and forgotten me here?'' Culiet ranted.
Hershire was speechless, and that was because everything that Culiet had said, was nothing but the truth.
After lying against Culiet which was already a very bad outlook, Hershire would have made sure to forget totally about Culiet just so that she would not feel guilty.
''Culiet. Okay, since you won't accept that I am sorry for what I did, why are you here then?'' Hershire asked.
''I came to look at the face of a monster. I came to look at the face of the monster that made me leave my home. I had to flee this territory to a much smaller territory because I was afraid of Lord Blackhouse. If he saw me anywhere near him, he might wreak havoc on me again just by remembering that I was part of the reason he lost the love of his life. Thankfully, he has gotten married to her, so my fears are washed away. Besides, I hope you know that his new bride is about to be the Queen?'' Culiet asked.
Hershire looked at Culiet, obviously shoked out of her mind.
''I beg your pardon?'' Hershire asked.
Culiet docked her neck inwards, surprised that Hershire was still in the dark.
''Have you no visitors here? Does Beam not come to visit you?'' Culiet asked.
Hershire dropped her head and shook it with pity.
''No. He only came to mock me when Blackhouse was about to get married to the rogue, but after that I have not seen a single soul around.'' Hershire said.
''Oh well, the so-called rogue is going to be your Queen from tomorrow. The installation is happening tomorrow. Why do you think there are so many activities going on in the Kingdom? It's all because of her.'' Culiet revealed.
Culiet could not deny that at that point, she pitied Hershire.
Hershire was stinking, and her looks had detriorated. The former cherry-liped, beautiful and drop dead gorgeous Hershire had derailed to the barest minimum. She now looked worst than the beggers at the gate of the Kingdom.
''Blackhouse should just order my execution instead of killing me slowly.'' Hershire had burst into tears so many times since Culiet's visit, she had become tired of crying.
''Blackhouse wants to kill me.''
Culiet heaved a tired sigh.
''Well, I just came to pay you a visit. I actually came to say harsh things to you, but from what I am seeing, you are already almost gone, so I'll keep my words to myself. But, Hershire, I hope that in the future, if you ever make it out of here, you should change your ways. Anyway, you were never a bad person until this rogue girl came in and made you so jealous, you decided to harness you inner badness. But, I have just one question to ask you, Hershire. What of if what you had done to me had led to my death? What of if I was the one inside this cell and not you?'' Culiet asked.
