I looked at him, the wheel in my head turning. “I don’t…” I scoffed, looking at him, trying to make sense of what he was saying. “I don’t understand what you are saying” 
“Your mum. She did an unforgivable sin and..” I chewed the insides of my mouth. For some reason. It feels as though I am paying for the sins of someone I don’t even know and it was becoming tiring. 
“…and Lucia swore your mum and her child was going to suffer the consequences” he spoke. “At first, it didn’t really bother me, but then I met you. You were young then but some how, I could feel it. Our souls were made the same. Which was strange because vampires are not destined to have mated ones. The day Lucia attacked you, she did not plan to take you to another realm, she wanted to kill you, but o disrupted her spell, taking you to the human realm instead.” 
I cocked my head to the side, listening to him “the night Kandlin found you.. it was not just him. You might not have figured it out yet but he is the fae king’s son.. or something, I am not really sure of their story” 
I just kept nodding, not really knowing what to say. “When I found you, I realized that Kandlin had already gotten to you first, gotten to know you, and obsessed over you and I think we have had this conversation before but.. there were things I could not say then. I am sorry” he said, as though he was shutting off but I held his hands, squeezing it firmly. 
“I am listening” my voice coming out softly. 
“You stopped breathing one night, no pulse nothing, and I was so afraid. Your human mother did not feed you and your little heart could not take the pain and I begged the goddess, cursing myself why I did not do anything sooner. Then he came with a solution. He said he could bring you back if I gave up my bond with you” 
I opened my mouth opened to say something anything, but nothing came out. I mean what could one even say in these instance? 
“I did it without a heartbeat”
“Did you know?” I finally asked, causing him to look up at me. “That he raped me on some nights and I know you were aware of how he hit me” I said, standing up so that I could put a bit of distance between us
His face turned white “I swear on my life and that of my people” he said, standing up with me as well, trying to cover the distance between us. “I did not know he did that he raped you. I thought it was only…fuck!!!” He screamed, grabbing his hair and tugging at it. “Why did you not tell me” he said, looking at me broken. “I let it happen” he mumbled to himself “it’s no excuse and I thought that if I did come close to you, the fae king or Lucia was going to get you because they were on the look out for you and…” I zoned him out, looking at him in his panicked state then I did what I never thought I would be doing, 
I kissed him. He stood, stunned at first, before his hands found my waist. It finally made sense. How my body responded to him when I was in heat, how he touched me
And I knew it was only him. I might not have been aware, but my body definitely knew then.
“It’s all in the past now” I said, getting down from my tippy toes. So that our height was more obvious. 
“I am not looking forward to it but…” I said wrapping my hands around his neck. “The kingdom would be a lot better now” 
“About that” he said, trying to smile though you could see that he was still unsettled with the previous conversation. “I have been thinking..” he looked at me, unsure of what he was about to say. 
“What if everything went away?” He said, looking at me with wide eyes, holding his breath.
“Aiden.. I don’t understand what you trying to say. 
“Look.. I’ve toured the world and seen a lot of things and this realm? It’s taken a lot from me than I would like to admit. It was one of the reasons I left centuries ago” I looked at him, totally understanding what he meant. 
At the moment, I was trying desperately to ignore my grandmother’s death that was indirectly my fault. 
‘She did not even have a chance to tell me good bye’ the thought stung all the more. 
“I understand exactly what you mean” 
He let out a breathe at that. 
“So, instead of going back to the castle, what if… what if we left?” 
The thought sparked something in me, something I tried not to let grow. “The queen would find us” I said, shaking my head, already knowing how it was going to end. She would lock us in eternal torment, not caring if we lived or died. 
“She does not have to” he said, then muttered something under his breath 
I recognized it. It was the spell taught to vampires to mask their presence so that they would blend in with humans and not be seen. Lucia had also used it one to many times. “So? What do you say?” He said, stretching his hands my way.
I looked back. We were far away from the dead bodies now but somehow, I could still see them. The memory a knife to my stomach so I took his stretched hand. 
“Not even the fae kind would find us?” I asked, skeptical. 
He smiled, tightening his hold on the hand I placed in his. “It would be like Aiden and Advika did not even exist in this earth” he said smiling at me. 
I nodded, that was honestly enough for me. I mumbled a few words, a strange feeling overwhelming me in the process. 
“Thank you” he said, looking at me as though he did not believe I would take this step, but honestly, there was not a doubt I was going to take it. The life In the palace was not mine, and the pack did not accept me. “for wanting to make me correct the mistakes, and agreeing to this new life with me” 
I said nothing, looking into his eyes, 
“I swear, till our last breath, I will Worship the ground you walk on” 
“Hmph!” I scoffed, flickering his nose. “Let’s just hope the human girls don’t take your attention away from me.. I hear they are really pretty” I said, wiggling my brows at him. 
“If you would let me…” he said, sliding his hands across my body causing a shiver down my spine “I can show you how obsessed I am about you, that they would not even come close In taking my attention from you” he said, pulling the arm of my dress, making the arm of my dress fall, leaving my shoulders bare…
