Chapter 72 Samuel's Death

Chapter 72 Samuel's Death
When people touched what belonged to him, Nikolai flew into a frenzy.

He didn't think before he acted.

He had noticed her rather feverish behavior all through the night.

First, when he had met her near the curtains.

Movements happened behind the curtains.

Someone moved yet Isabella had said she wanted to fix her dress.

He didn't force her mouth open.

But his eyes darkened when he saw the shadow of a scrawny man in a grey suit.

He turned back to Isabella, who gave a rushed answer to his question, demanding what she was doing behind the curtains.

'Was that the, Samuel? The only one who kissed my baby girl on her lips?' The thought ran wild in his head.

When he got a new look at the man behind the curtains,

He calmly dismissed the fleeting thoughts in his mind.

No way that scrawny looking man was the Samuel who kissed his Isa on the lips.

He didn't look a bit like a standard man.

Rumpled faded suit.

Who the fuck even gave him an invite?

"Very well," he had said leading Isabella to the main room.

After a while he noticed the man walking towards his table.

What left him more distraught was Isabella's distracting features.

She was anxious.

She didn't mask it as well as she had thought.

Then again he noticed the man staring with a mask of expression when his fingers were buried inside her Isabella's went cunt.

Smirking directly at the man, he made sure he curled his fingers deeper, eliciting every tremor that trespassed Isabella's body whilst making sure that the fucker was watching.

When he asked Isabella why that fucker was looking at them, he heard the sudden gasp that escaped her.

It was faint but he had heard it.

For some fucked up reason, Isabella knew who that fucker was!

There was nothing like three coincidences.

He held his anger while waiting for the gala to come to an end.

He would deal with the fucker by torturing him slowly before killing him off for eyeing his person.

He had something to do first.

The sole purpose of attending the boring charity gala was for the host himself.

Bruce Sterlings.

He needed to socialize, blending his real questions into mindless small talk.

He told Isabella to wait for him while he went to make small talks despite the smell of her arousal urging him to fuck her already.

A few minutes into the conversation, he couldn't find Isabella anymore.

Pausing his conversation with Bruce he went in search of her.

She wasn't in the main room.

She wasn't at the gathering place.

Where the fuck was she?!

Anger burned at his chest, his teeth chattering.

He quickly spotted Anya and Aleksandr together.

"Have you seen Isa?" His question, rough and urgent.

"No we haven't. She was still there with you in the main room when—"

"Fucking irrelevant!" He hissed not letting her finish.

He went out the front entrance but she wasn't there.

He went into a dangerous frenzy.

Every second without her felt like a drop of acid burning his skin.

He marched back inside, his eyes scanning the crowd like a hawk tracking its prey.

None of the faces he saw belonged to his Isa.

"Isa!" his voice boomed, a raw, terrifying roar that silenced the music.

People gasped, shrinking away from him.

The sheer aura of death radiating off his large frame made the elite crowd scramble to get out of his way.

Nikolai looked like a beast who had lost his mate.

He didn't have time to ask questions.

He didn't trust anyone else's eyes but his own.

He tore open doors to private rooms, kicked open locked doors he saw...

She wasn't anywhere!

Where the fuck are you!

He groaned, teeth lashing out like a monster, the muscles in his forehead were ticking.

He dragged himself out of the building, moving to the back door.

His chest heaved as he sucked in the freezing oxygen.

He saw her but then her next words froze him.

"Yes, my love is genuine. There's no need in second guessing what I already feel. It's strong and I won't be leaving."

It was confirmation. A confession to the person who stood beside her.

His eyes locked in on the fucker that was declared dead, the moment he saw standing too close to him.

"Isa!"

He growled out, barely holding himself back.

He was disappointed.

All his thoughts were true. She fucking knew that bastard!

"Nikolai," she whispered his name like a broken vow.

Her lips parted open to explain but then she clamped them shut when she noticed the gun in his hands.

What the bloody fuck?!

Her shoulders tensed and to make matters worse, Samuel had to hold her wrist, pushing her behind him.

A guttural sound left Nikolai's throat as his eyes narrowed at the hands that held his Isa.

How dare he? The audacity!

He took a menacing step closer towards them, Samuel moved towards him.

If this man was forcing Isabella into what she didn't want then he had to set him right!

"Hey!" He snapped at Nikolai, despite the terrifying smell oozing from him, Samuel didn't care.

Isabella was his sister. Biological or not.

"I don't care who you are. But if you're forcing Isabella to yourself then I will call the cops—"

"No, no,no," Isabella rushed out from behind, pushing Samuel back.

"This is none of your business, Samuel. I don't even know you. Just fucking get out my sight!"

Her words burned her tongue.

Tears stung her eyes.

Please. just. Run.

Samuel relented.

"Never realized you have such a low taste, Isa. Letting a man like this claim your lips. How fucking desperate are you for a touch?" His jaw clicked.

Isabella stood confused by his words then, it clicked.

She had only said that to rattle him.

Oh fucking God!

This wasn't happening right now.

"Niko—"

"That's not—"

"It's all a misunderstanding—"

"I didn't mean—"

Each time she tried explaining, her breath caught in her throat, unable to form a simple sentence.

Dammit! She hissed.

She turned to Samuel again begging him to go but he placed his hands on her shoulders for comfort, telling her he wouldn't be leaving her alone with Nikolai.

Dark velvety obsession pulsed underneath Nikolai's veins.

Everything else turned to a blur behind him.

He couldn't hear whatever either of them was saying anymore.

His eyes were fixed on only one place.

Her shoulders, stained by the touch of another man.

He didn't think.

He didn't hesitate.

He didn't care about the consequences or the location.

As he had promised, he would remove anyone who dared touch his person.

Nikolai raised his hand, the heavy steel of his gun flashing in the dim light.

BANG.

BANG.

BANG.

He released three shots into Samuel's head.

Dark mirth corded through his veins as he watched Samuel's body hit the ground.

His gaze shifted,

Isabella.

Her jade green eyes were red and moist, looking at him like he was a cold-blooded monster.
