Chapter 45 045

Chapter 45 045
Alexander's POV

It wasn't hard to find the thugs that dared to hurt my mate. It was very easy because no one believed the Alpha himself would come after them just because of a mere trial candidate... And that's where they were wrong.

I watched her from a distance for a long moment. She was sitting right there smiling at her mate while thanking the heavens that he made it... She had quite some nerve after hurting someone else without remorse.

I didn't have to speak. My wolf already did the job, releasing that scary aura that immediately alerted both she and her mate of my presence.

I didn't bother standing back. I took just two more steps forward, still keeping a safe distance in case Rage loses its control and snapped her in half right in front of her mate. I couldn't watch him have an attack after Danica suffered all that bully because she tried and succeeded in saving him.

"Alpha Alexander" they muttered in unison. The woman with a deep bow while the man had his free hand on his chest as a sign of respect.

The only thing my angry mind could register was how much the sound of my name on her lips irritated me. She was one of the few that didn't deserve to call my name.

"I'm sure you know why I'm here, don't you?" I asked, cutting straight to the point without regarding their greetings.

"No, we don't, Alpha." The lady muttered and I couldn't help a dangerous smirk.

"Oh, your sick mate isn't involved with you hurting my mate and leaving her to die cold and restless in that forest after she saved your own mate. I only have business with you, Female" I retorted, my calm composure a sharp contrast to the storm brewing in the depth of my being.

She faltered, almost collapsing at the mention of mate.

Of course she didn't know that Danica was my mate. No one did. She would never have laid even a strand of hair in her path if she knew. But that doesn't change anything.

"Your... Your mate?" She stammered but I gave no reaction to her question. She heard me.

"What the hell does he mean by that, Aliya?" The sick man asked and I almost rolled my eyes visibly.

"Ah, you had no idea how brazen your woman was, did you? She practically killed the same woman who tried all she could to keep you alive... Danica Grayson. My Mate." I broke it down plainly in case he couldn't grab it the first time.

A look of dread and disappointment crossed his features but the hell am I ready to watch some couple drama.

"An Alpha was here to summon you himself... You know what that means, right? You might as well bid yourselves farewell because it might be the last time you see the other" I muttered as I turned to leave.

Without another glance back, I walked out of the clinic. Leaving Blake in charge of bringing her to me, at the Darkest Dungeon.

We call it the Darkest Dungeon, not because it's dark literally. But because the harshest torture happens there. Those that don't deserve an easy death... Depending on their offense, ends up there. Where I could drag out their pains for weeks, months and even years.

The last person that visited the Darkest Dungeon spent a year and two months there, facing the ultimate torture by the pass of each day until I finally decided to end him.

Being a woman doesn't excuse her vile, venomous heart. I might just make her go through the harshest torture I've ever inflicted on anyone.

"Alpha! Alpha Alexander!!!" Voices yelled, pleadingly but I didn't look back even once.

One or two sentences of apology could never satisfy my burning need for revenge.

Hearing them from a sick man could touch a nerve... Or not. But I wasn't ready for any of that. My payback comes first, then apologies might follow later.

An hour passed, before Blake reported her presence at the Darkest Dungeon. It took that long because she and her mate kept pleading desperately but there was nothing he could do about it except to put the sick man to sleep for a few hours.

When I got there, she was already a wailing mess. I haven't even touched her yet and she already looked that pathetic. Too bad, I wouldn't give two shits even if she was in a near death situation.

"Aliya... Right?" The mention of her name was all it took to snap her wails down.

She nodded vigorously.

"Now would you mind telling me why you did something so despicable to a fellow wolf? And not just any wolf, but one that saved the life of your mate?" I asked and her trembling body trembled even harder... If that was in any way possible.

"I had no idea, Alpha. I thought she killed him... I didn't mean..."

I interrupted her with a stab on my dagger in her right thigh. She yelled, shaking so hard from the sting of the pain and the burn of silver at the same time.

"You didn't think of the sort of pain a woman without her wolf would go through before doing that right under my nose, did you? And now what? You dare to scream?" I demanded hotly, eyes blazing fiery gold.

"I didn't know, Alpha. I had no idea she tried to save him!" She cried, trying to keep those annoying yells to herself but she had no idea just how much I needed to hear those painful screams no matter how annoying they were.

"And you dared to think that Ignorance is bliss. You had no idea... But I was so sure she told you that. She must have pleaded desperately for you to believe her but you didn't. And you think I would?" I asked, raising an amused brow at her as I dug the dagger deeper into her thighs, leaving it there until every part of her existence felt the burn of ever trying to hurt MY little Doc.

Screams after agonizing screams pierced through the air at every stab but it wasn't anywhere near enough. The hollow ache of not being able to save my mate when she went through that torture remained. And I would take it all out on her.

"Now I want you to tell just how exactly you came across the news that she performed that surgery even when it was always confidential information until the surgery's results are confirmed" I asked after approximately thirty minutes.

She could barely speak through the pain, but I needed answers and I didn't care if I had to add more for her to speak. Thankfully, she loved herself too much to want me forcing the answers out of her in my own sweet way.

"The doctor... Sarah told me everything after I begged her desperately" she took her time thinking, as if trying to recall it before responding in a rushed sentence.

I mindlinked Blake without wasting a single minute. "I want you to find the Doctor named Sarah immediately. She's probably an assistant or a nurse"

"On it." His response followed and I turned to Aliya again.

"Without missing a single detail. I want you to tell me everything she told you, exactly how she said it." I demanded and she spilled everything in a heartbeat. I'd never seen anyone talk that fast while in pain. It made me want to do more than just a few painful silver stabs.

I wanted to see just how far she could go before her words became completely slurred and inaudible.

"You see, Aliya. Only one person could possibly save you from this Dungeon and so far, that one person is just teetering at the brink of death just like you are... And even if I do let you go..." I trailed off, standing straight as I positioned my leg directly above her right hand.

"Only one person could ever treat wounds inflicted by me but guess what? She might never be able to use her hands thanks to you" I said lastly before pla
cing a painfully hard pressure on the hand.

Her screams were still surprisingly loud.
