Chapter 151 Sera’s Vengeance
Chapter 151 Sera’s Vengeance
The night grew deeper, and the freezing cold air bit sharp against the skin. Behind the narrow, damp door of the servant's quarters, Sera’s slender fingers moved quickly, typing a short message on a phone she had secretly borrowed from a fellow maid.
"Hary, please help me tonight. Wait for me at the old road intersection near the western forest border at exactly two in the morning. This is extremely urgent, Sera."
After sending it, Sera exhaled a long-held sigh of relief. With utmost caution, she prepared to gather her few belongings. She transferred Baby Leon into a cloth sling on her back, freeing her hands so she could move more easily to escape.
"Sweetheart, tonight we are leaving this mansion. Are you ready to see the world?" Sera whispered softly, glancing back at her little one.
Baby Leon let out a tiny smile beneath his warm blanket, as if understanding the overwhelming surge of happiness in his mother’s heart.
As soon as the grand wall clock chimed twice to mark the passage of midnight, Sera moved swiftly without making the slightest sound. She approached the wooden window of her room, which opened directly onto the dark, deserted back garden.
"Stay quiet, my love... we will be safe soon," she murmured softly to the thick bundle of cloth on her back.
Sera unlatched the window slowly, holding back the creak of the hinges to avoid waking the guards. She peeked down.
"Oh no, this window is quite high. But I have to do this," she grunted with determination.
With nimble movements, she climbed onto the windowsill and leaped down. Her feet landed smoothly on the damp, grassy ground without a sound. Having successfully escaped the mansion's strict surveillance, Sera ran fast through the darkness of the night, following the rocky trail toward the secret meeting point.
From a distance, beneath the dim shadow of a lush old oak tree, stood a tall, broad-shouldered man pacing anxiously back and forth. The man kept scanning the border area with a worried expression.
"Hary!" Sera called in a half-whisper as her steps drew closer.
The man turned around quickly, knitting his brows in a searching glare. "Who are you? Have we met before?" Hary asked, confused and unfamiliar with the face of the woman greeting him so intimately.
"It's me, Hary. Se"
"I don't have time to be played around with by a woman in the middle of the night like this. Are you trying to trick me?" Hary interrupted, crossing his arms and looking at her with suspicion.
Sera shook her head quickly. "No, it's me, Sera! I'm just in disguise," she answered quietly yet firmly.
Hary scoffed. "Are you joking? You are Ana, the maid from Lady Maya's mansion! How can you claim to be Sera?"
"Please believe me, Hary. I'm not deceiving you at all," Sera pleaded.
"What proof do you have to dare utter that name?" Hary demanded, sharpening his gaze.
Without answering, Sera slowly peeled off the silicone mask from her face. Moonlight illuminated her elegant, beautiful features the moment the layer of artificial skin came off completely.
Hary froze instantly.
"My goodness! What happened to you that made you hide behind a disguise like this?" Hary gasped, covering his mouth in disbelief.
"It's a long story, I'll explain later. The most important thing is that we must leave here immediately," Sera replied quickly.
"I still can't believe it's really you, Sera!" Hary whispered loudly, his body trembling from the shock. "We all thought you were gone!"
"This disguise was the only way I could survive inside that mansion," Sera said in a low voice.
Hary's eyes then shifted behind Sera, locking onto the large bundle tied to her back. "What's that? Did you bring a lot of luggage?"
Sera shook her head gently while caressing the bundle softy. "This is my son, Leon. I gave birth to him a while ago."
"Really? Congratulations, Sera!" Hary smiled with relief, reaching out to give a warm pat to the bundle on Sera's back.
"Thank you, Hary. He's the one who kept me strong all this time," Sera whispered, a touch of emotional smile gracing her lips.
"Let me carry your baby," Hary offered.
He reached for the bundle as Sera slowly loosened the cloth wraps around her body.
"Hold him carefully. Make sure the straps are firmly supported on your shoulders," Sera instructed with great care.
"Don't worry, I'll keep him safe and close," Hary replied sincerely.
Sera glanced anxiously toward the mansion. "We should leave right away before they notice I'm gone."
"You're right. This border area is far too dangerous for us to linger," Hary agreed. He nodded, adjusting the position of Baby Leon's sling on his back so it was secure.
"I've been searching for you constantly these past few months. The Aria Company is in deep trouble while you vanished without a trace," Hary explained as he stepped forward slowly to lead the way.
"How is the company doing now?" Sera asked in a panic.
"It's chaos without your leadership," Hary answered with deep concern. "Everyone is lost."
"I'm sorry... I was kidnapped and betrayed," Sera admitted, revealing the bitter truth of her past.
Hary shook his head in disbelief. "Is that true? Did Alpha Rolex not look for you? He should have mobilized all his forces!"
"Why would you assume that?" Sera whispered bitterly.
"Because you are his mate! He has all the resources in the world to find you!" Hary declared defensively.
Sera fell silent for a moment. Her gaze suddenly went blank, staring through the darkness of the night. The man who was once most precious to her and whom she loved deeply turned out not to care about her at all.
"I don't know... he never searched for me. I was locked away in a cave, and it was all Maya's doing," Sera explained, her voice heavy with bitterness.
"Lady Maya was the culprit?" Hary was deeply shocked. "She was the one who locked you away?"
"Yes. She tortured me and hid me there," Sera whispered, fighting the tightness in her chest.
"How cruel... I never thought she could be so despicable and vile," Hary cursed in rage. He could feel the profound suffering Sera had endured. "Alright, let's go to my house. You can rest safely there."
"Thank you, Hary. Your place is my only hope," Sera responded with relief.
"I will prepare everything you and Leon need," Hary promised genuinely.
However, in the middle of the dimly lit forest path, Hary's steps suddenly came to a halt.
"What is it, Hary?" Sera frowned in surprise at her friend's sudden shift in posture.
"I just realized something," Hary murmured slowly.
"Realized what?" Sera probed nervously.
"Who is the father of this baby?" Hary turned around, locking his sharp gaze directly into Sera's eyes.
"Why are you suddenly asking that now?" Sera asked hesitantly, holding her breath.
"I need to know whose flesh and blood I'm carrying on my back, Sera!" Hary pressed seriously.
Rather than showing fear, Sera curled her lips into a mysterious smirk. A cold smile laced with vengeance etched across her face.
"Someone who is now my main enemy."
Hary froze on the spot. His chest heaved violently as a single name crossed convincingly into his mind.
"What? Cassen?"
