Chapter 150 The Alpha's Forgotten Mate

Chapter 150 The Alpha's Forgotten Mate
At the Rolex Residence

That night, the entire mansion was cloaked in a suffocating silence. The cold night wind swept through the gaps of the tall windows, making the candle flames inside Alpha Rolex's chamber flicker nervously.

Alpha Rolex tossed and turned restlessly in his sleep, cold sweat glistening on his temples. Unconsciously, he muttered a name over and over again.

"Sera..." he murmured softly. "Sera? Don't go... Don't leave me..." His voice rose in volume as he suddenly startled awake.

His body was restless and trembling. "Sera? I dreamt of her." Rolex rubbed his face, his mind consumed by agonizing thoughts of the woman he loved.

He stared at his reflection in the mirror a face he had hidden from the truth for months.

"Dion," he hissed, mocking his own alias with utter contempt. "How much longer must I be Dion? How much longer must I pretend that I'm not searching for you?"

"It is time for me to find you, Sera."

His muscular fingers brushed against the cold glass, attempting to soothe the raging wolf inside him that roared for the truth. Suddenly, the chamber door creaked open softly. Lord Tama, his loyal right-hand man and advisor, stepped inside without knocking.

"Alpha, did you call for me?"

Rolex turned around slowly. His gaze was no longer clouded with hesitation; it bore a absolute clarity and resolve that had long been suppressed deep within his heart. "I have hidden enough, Tama."

Tama knitted his brows, sensing the dangerous shift in his leader's aura. "What do you mean?"

"I am done being Dion." Rolex grabbed the hooded gray cloak he usually wore to disguise himself as a commoner, tore it off violently, and let it fall to the floor like shed skin. "Starting tonight, the world will know that Alpha Rolex is alive, and he is searching for his mate."

Tama stood silent for a moment, observing the deadly determination blazing in Rolex's eyes. "Are you certain? If you step out as Alpha Rolex once more, your enemies especially the Black Wolf Pack will also track your presence."

"I don't care who knows anymore." Rolex's voice trembled, choking back the overwhelming surge of raw emotion and agonizing pain in his chest.

Tama took a deep breath, understanding the chaotic storm within his Alpha. "Ana... do you mean the quiet maid residing at Lady Maya's mansion?"

"Yes." Rolex clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white. "I feel the bond a distorted yet undeniable mate bond—every single time she passes by me. Her scent, the vibration of her soul... everything points to Sera. Yet she constantly avoids me, keeping her head low, as if deliberately hiding something immense."

"What if your assumption is wrong, Alpha?" Tama pressed gently. "What if Ana is merely a human who happens to possess a refreshing scent resembling Lady Sera? If you rashly confront Lady Maya's mansion as Alpha Rolex, the enemies will catch your scent before you even have the chance to verify her identity."

"A wolf's instinct never lies, Tama," Rolex whispered fiercely. "My blood surges every time I catch her breath. Her presence triggers a bond that no magic in this world can forge."

"Yet moving without a strategy only invites disaster," Tama interrupted anxiously. "What about the disguise we bled for three years to build? Must it collapse in a single night without certainty?"

"Hiding for three years has been pure hell!" Rolex bellowed, unleashing the fiery rage burning in his chest. "Every second I spent as Dion was torture. I watched her sweep the floors, carry heavy loads, and endure humiliation from senior maids while I stood idly by behind this gray cloak! Do you have any idea how shattered my soul felt, witnessing my mate treated that way without being able to hold her?"

Tama bowed his head, unable to meet the piercing red glare radiating from his Alpha's eyes. "I understand your pain... but my duty is to ensure your safety and the survival of our pack."

"So what is your plan now?" Tama finally conceded, submitting to his leader's will.

Rolex walked slowly toward the grand window, gazing up at the full moon hanging elegantly yet coldly in the night sky. "I will find her. I will tear off every mask hers and mine. Tonight."

Tama watched his Alpha in silence. He could see that the crushing burden Rolex had carried had reached its breaking point. Finally, the right-hand man bowed respectfully in absolute obedience. "Very well, Alpha. I will ready the finest tracking squad to escort you."

"No." Rolex shook his head firmly. "For this, I must move alone first. In secret."

"That is dangerous, Alpha. Alpha Cassen is still roaming out there, seeking any vulnerability to tear our Pack apart. We still do not know for certain whether Ana is truly Sera or simply bait"

"I know the risks," Rolex cut him off sharply. "I have already lost Sera once because of my own fear. I will not let fate toy with me a second time."

Tama let out a long sigh, realizing no argument could break the wall of resolve in his Alpha's eyes. "Understood. I will remain on standby at the mansion's perimeter should you require immediate reinforcement."

"Ensure the western perimeter defenses are tightened," Rolex ordered. "If Cassen catches wind of my movement, he will undoubtedly strike through that valley gap."

"It is handled, Alpha. However... what if Ana rejects you when you reveal your true identity?" Tama asked hesitantly. "What if she despises the fact that her Alpha allowed her to suffer in disguise all this time?"

Rolex went silent. The question struck his chest harder than any enemy claw ever could. "If she hates me, I will get down on my knees and beg for her forgiveness. I will take all her wrath, as long as she never vanishes from my reach again."

Rolex gave a single nod. He turned back toward the mirror, staring at his reflection one last time as the man named "Dion." The mask had fallen. There were no more regrets, no more doubts.

"Wait for me, Sera," he whispered into the dark night. "This time, I will not fail to recognize my true love."

He turned on his heel and strode resolutely out of the room. However, mere two steps into the mansion corridor, the silence of the night shattered into pieces. From the direction of the outer gates, the sound of rushed footsteps echoed up the stone stairs, followed by hysterical shouts from one of the perimeter guards.
