Jealous

Helena:

It's been two weeks since we got married and every moment I was remembering that very happy and special day that was my wedding.

"I don't know how I didn't meet you before.

Says Matew,we were dancing the first couple's waltz,so that the rest of the guests could dance soon after as well.

"We meet at the right time."

I kiss his mouth calmly and so we spend the night as happy as ever.

My parents stayed in my house for a week and then went back to their hometown.

Today we were going to a store to buy a dress for the prom later, Matew was excited and anxious, he really wanted to show his wife to everyone.

We arrived at the atelier of an acquaintance of Mat's,as soon as we entered she opened a wide smile and came to meet him,giving him a strong hug. I face that serious scene,Matew then realizing my unusual reaction,lets go of the girl and smiles gracelessly.

"How is Matew doing?" - Asks the happy woman.

"Very well,look,this here is my beautiful wife,Helena."

She approaches me,putting one of her arms around my waist and the woman looks dull,until she smiles and extends her hand in the form of a greeting,I shake it and give a half smile.

"Hello Helena,I'm Janaína,pleasure."

"Pleasure Janaína."

"So,to what do I owe the honor of your visit Matew?"

"Helena needs a beautiful dress,one that is unlike any anyone has ever seen in their life and we need it for today,I want something that will highlight her stunning beauty."

"You've come to the right place,come Helena."

She smiles and walks away,I follow her somewhat fearfully,I didn't trust this woman who simply grabbed my husband,without embarrassing herself in the hug so tight she gave him.

We went to the more expensive dresses area,then she picks up a few and gives them to me.

"You can change,in this session no one will see you."

"Okay,thank you."

I take off my clothes and put on the dress she gave me,the fabric was light with plenty of elastane,it had a zipper in the back,where I opened it to put it on,as soon as I'm dressed she comes to do some tidying up and I look at myself in the mirror,just like her.

"I guess he never told you,but since we are women,I see no reason to hide this from you..."

"What do you mean?"

I feel a small irritation inside me,maybe I already expected what she would and wanted to say,I saw on her face the displeasure in knowing that I was Matew's wife,who the same brought me and introduced me in a special way.

"I was almost one of Mat's concubines,we were very close,I fell madly in love with him,I know I am younger than him,no more than you I presume,but I loved him so much,he always had something special that attracted women. I speak firmly and seriously,then I put on more others and not one of the ones I wore looked good to me,it could be my irritation blinding me.

"If I were to marry him,it would never be out of interest,he has always been kind and good to me,I have enough money and wouldn't need to depend on him."

"Too bad from the looks of it he never had any interest in you,he never touched on subjects about you let alone your names,Matew told me about his whole life and from the looks of it,you were never a part of it,or not that important."

"Or he didn't talk about me for fear of his jealousy or suspicion of us,women like you,too nice,are usually jealous of a man like him,who needs more than one to satisfy him."

"I satisfy him in everything and if one day he needs it,I believe he will want something much better than you,that must be pos why he preferred not to cheat on his ex wife again,if I were a man I would make the same choice."

I take off my dress and put on my clothes,she was angry and I was more relieved to see her new reaction,she got what she wanted,but I wouldn't let her put things in my head.

I walk out of there going to meet Matew,he looks at me confused and I smile mildly.

"I didn't like the dresses, shall we go?"

"What do you mean you didn't like them? Janaína is the best in the whole city!".

He was dumbfounded and I was getting more irritated with his defense.

"I didn't like it, can we go? - I said rudely.

"Fine, we can see somewhere else, or at Francy's, what do you think?"

"Better."

"All right. Thanks Janaína, sorry for anything."

"Nothing, my love, it's fine. I'm here whenever you need me."

"Bye."

We leave the place and he finds it even more strange that I didn't say goodbye politely,normally I acted like that with everyone and this attitude of mine was not normal for him.

"What's going on?"

He asks meekly after we get in the car. I lay my forehead on the dashboard and take a deep breath,I didn't like to be jealous,but he owed me fidelity and even though I knew he knew the commitment he made to me,I didn't trust him,not only because of his past history,but because of the trauma I got because of Hugo,I mean...Victor.

"You didn't tell me you had a relationship with her too."

"What? Who told you that?"

"She told me she would be your concubine."

"You listened to her? I never had any involvement with Janaína!".

"But she said that..."

"Don't listen to everything they say."

"Matew,she practically grabbed you even though I was accompanying you and being your wife,you didn't say anything about it,you just allowed it."

"I didn't think you would care for a hug!".

"After the hug you get a free pass to your bed?"

I end up crying with irritation,we were shouting amidst the words and as much as I knew I didn't own him,I felt insecure. He holds my face with care and affection,looks at me serene and puts his forehead on mine.

He kisses my cheek and takes me home,as soon as we arrived we went to our room,we went to take a relaxing bath in the tub,he would caress my wet hair and kiss my face.

I smile,then we kissed and had minutes of intense love,then we cleaned ourselves up and went to the kitchen,where the maids and the cook were chatting leisurely.

"Good night." - We spoke together.

"Good evening gentlemen!" - They say together and each going to her function.

"You can stay there,no problem,we just came to get something to eat,what do you have for snacks?". - Says the gentle Matew.

"I made an orange cake sir,do you want hot milk,or do you want something else?,just say I'll do it."

"What do you want love?" - He looks at me with his beautiful eyes.

"I'm fine with what you have."

"Okay, I'll serve them."

We confirmed with our heads as she went about doing her thing,Mat hugged me tight and kissed my forehead.

After we were served we ate and went to the bedroom,he takes off his clothes putting on a more comfortable shorts,but before lying down next to me,he makes a call.

"Hello?

Mr. Emanuel, I'm Matew.

Yes my dear, I will not be able to go, I had some unforeseen events.

I was even excited,but my pregnant wife is not feeling well enough to go,so I decided to keep her company.

Okay, thanks."

He hangs up,puts his cell phone on the little table beside the bed and lies down beside me,covers us and hugs me tightly.

"You were the founder of the event?"

"Yes,I thought it was good to warn you about my absence,since I had given my word."

"I'm sorry..."

"It's not your fault,I should be more aware,take more care of you,I never thought anything that happened today,would happen."
