Chapter 144

Chapter 144
Hope

Lincoln couldn’t even look at me. Blake did though. He looked at me with understanding in his eyes. Like he knew exactly what I was planning.

I sighed. If only Lincoln could do that. If only he would actually listen. Not that it mattered really. In fact it might be easier for everyone if he believed the nonsense in his head.

“Lincoln-“ I began to say, completely ignoring my own advice in an attempt to make him stop ignoring me.

The door swung open , without even a knock and Justin swept inside. He had changed his clothes but still looked like a mixture between a medieval bad ass and a dorky young man from my time. The only thing that was massively different was the way he carried himself but then that shouldn’t surprise me.

He’d had centuries to get out of his awkward geek stage.

Ignoring the two alphas , he strode past them. His feet barely touching the ground and swept me up into his arms.

My injured hand was crushed between us, and I cried out. Instantly he let me go. Guiltily he looked down before his  red tinged eyes found mine again.

“Sorry.” He mumbled, and without warning pressed his lips to mine.

Lincoln made a choking sound in his throat, half sob and half growling roar but he didn’t rip the vampire from my arms.

“What are you doing?” Stepping away I scrubbed the back of my good hand against my mouth and glanced at Lincoln. Blake was standing right next to him. A warning hand on his arm. Neither alphas were directly looking at me.

“I heard what you said.”

Of course he had. I had counted on him hearing.

Something must have shown on my face because his smile grew. “Let’s talk alone. Gentleman.” He turned to the others, with a bow of his head. “Will you excuse me and Hope. We have things to discuss and Hope needs to change. If you follow the hallway to the left you will find food and-“

“I am not leaving her alone with you.” Lincoln growled, taking a step forward. “And she will not be changing her clothes in front of you either.”

In answer Justin laughed.

Ignoring him I rushed into Lincoln’s arms. Burying my face into his chest so I could feel his heartbeat pound away against my cheek. Breathing in his scent I forced down the urge to cry.

Now wasn’t the time for weakness.

“I love you.” I whispered.

“I-“

I stepped away and out of his arms, “but Justin is right. I need to talk to him in private.”

A hundred emotions warred across Lincoln’s face and got a few minutes it looked like he was going to start a fight. Right at the last minute he turned on his heel and stomped away. Blake went after him.

“Call out if you need us.” Blake growled out.

The second they were out the door, Justin flicked his wrist with a laugh. The door slammed shut and locked even though he was no where near it.

“She won’t need you.” He turned back to me. “You chose me.” He beamed at me.

I didn’t say a word. Really there was nothing else to say.

“I knew you loved me Hope. Even that night when you said you didn’t anymore. When you shattered my heart into a million pieces I knew it was just a blip in our story. I knew you would be back.” He began to move around the room. Yanking clothes out of a chest hidden in the corner. “Come here. We have to get you ready.”

I didn’t bother asking what I was getting ready for, at the end of the day it didn’t matter. Justin wanted me to be his omega and I’d had enough training to know what that entailed.

Dutifully I went to stand in front of him. I didn’t even flinch as his cold fingers began to peel off my clothes.

They were only clothes, I told myself over and over again. Just like it was only my naked skin that his eyes were flowing over.

“Your body has changed.” Justin’s voice was husky. Slowly he dropped his hand and his fingers skimmed across the swell of my heavy breasts. His eyes didn’t leave my face. “Full of life giving milk.” He murmured. “I can smell it and it smells almost as good as your blood does. When we have our own child I will drink from you.”

“I have a child.”

“You do.” He said softly. “Turn.”

Confused because I was sure he was about to grope me, I did what he asked. There was a rustle of clothes and suddenly he was there pressing against my back. His cold naked chest against my spine. He wrapped his arms around my waist and let his lips fall to my shoulder.

“But our own children-“

“I want my daughter.”

He nipped and sucked along my shoulder, kissing up my neck and the sweetest smell filled me with a need I hated.

My body reacted to him.

“Soon.” He bit down harder. “When we have had a proper reunion.”

I felt sick. He wanted me to fuck him. But hadn’t I always known that it might come to this. I sighed. Steeling myself for the pain and humiliation that was about to head my way.

“Fine. Where do you want me?” I didn’t wait for him to answer.  “On the bed?”

“What?” Catching hold of my shoulder he span me around to face him. “What are you talking about?”

“You want to fuck me , don’t you? So let’s get it over with.” I shrugged. “That’s all women are good for right?”

He stepped away like I had hit him. “That’s not what I want. I want you to want to be in my bed. I want you to crave me. And you will. You will be the happiest omega on earth, Hope.” Again he gathered me into his arms. “You will love me again.”

“I love Lincoln.” I said in a flat voice that was void of all emotions.

“But you chose me and that’s what matters.”

“It doesn’t bother you that I don’t love you. That I will never love you.” I said before I could help myself.

He moved like a blurry shadow. Tipping me backwards on to the mattress. My naked form bounced twice before he was on me.

Justin pinned me to the bed, his naked body crushing mine down but he didn’t kiss me or move his hand between our bodies to guide his cock into my entrance.

Instead he slid downwards and parted my thighs with brutal strength.

“I won’t force you to fuck me Hope, but I will take what I need from you. You say you can’t or won’t love me and that’s fine. I am a patient man when it comes to you. I killed half the planet because I didn’t want to share you once and I’ll do it again. You can love your wolf but I will never share you with him again. Is that clear? Do we understand each other? I will never share you ever again.”

And then he sank his fangs into my upper thigh and drank.
