Chapter 22

Ashina will sneak inside Dante 's room before Queen Aurelia and Laurel came to cure the badly hurt Alpha King. She brought the medicine kit that Alba gave her. She quietly came inside his room and the Alpha scented her that made him opened his eyes. He blinks and forced himself to get up after knowing who came inside his room.

"You're back. Why are you here? What happened outside?", his voice sounded shaky.

I didn't waste any time. I quickly hold his hands and tightly closed my eyes to travel the energy I have inside me to take the poison out from his body.

"You're back! What are you doing?

You're not supposed to be here!", he yelled at me even he coughs up blood.

Ashina keeps holding him to make sure the poison finally faded inside his blood.

"You're poisoned! I am trying to help you.

Don't worry, after this, you won't hear anything about me. And I am aware that you rejected me, my Lord!", Ashina promised him and she quickly left his room.

Dante fell into a deep sleep.

Two days after…

The Shadowborn Kingdom became peaceful again after they confirmed the absence of the beast wall which is Cora .

There were harmonies and happiness between Moonshadow s, especially between the twin Alpha Kings.

Ashina went back to being Dante 's slave again. After being cured and saved by his omega mate, Dante 's decision of rejecting her didn't change but why he kept dreaming about her.

He can't deny the fact that she's one of the hottest and beautiful omega she-wolf he'd ever met in his entire life.

Meanwhile, Asher and Ashina became more close to each other.

While both of them are playing archery outside the palace Dante s beta

Enzo came with an abrupt report.

"My lord someone wanted to see you're slave Ashina ", Enzo said to Dante .

Ashina , who was carrying the number of arrows in her hands, started to get surprised. She can't hide the fact that maybe it was her mom. She's always dreaming about them especially her brother Maverick . She missed them so much.

Dante heard it and ordered his Beta to

let her in.

"Bring the person to me." He said when his eyes shifted to Ashina .

"Who do you think it was Ashina ?", The Alpha king asked her. I don't know!

You kept me here for two months.

Maybe it's my mom!", She mumbled.

The Alpha twins stared at each other.

"My lord this woman is telling me that she was Ashina 's mom", Enzo said while gripping her tightly in her arms. Ashina 's eyes stretched wide opened to learned that it was her mom Layla .

"Let me go I want to see my daughter",

She said while struggling from

Enzo 's strong hand. Layla 's eyes hastily shifted her gaze towards her daughter.

She won't know what to say after seeing her daughter safe and sound.

Asher felt guilty and he ordered

Enzo to let go of Layla . His twin brother Dante took a deep sigh after witnessing the mother and daughter's dramatic reunion. Queen Aurelia heard about Layla 's sudden arrival. She started to get mad knowing that her mortal enemy was inside their property, which made her blood boils in anger.

She can't forget how Layla bewitched her husband, King Otto , Dante , and Asher's father.

She quickly went outside to check if the news was real.

She finally saw her having a conversation with her twins.

"How dare she came here alone? The low-life omega should be kicked out of the palace. If my son listened to me?

Why keeping her?", she murmured to herself while approaching with Alba .

From afar, she saw Layla who was trying to take her daughter back to their hometown and she felt relieved.

Ashina POV

Mom wanted to take me home but

Dante won't let it happen. I cried when mom started to kneel in front of him to beg for my freedom.

"Why her? Why my daughter? She's young and innocent. Please, let her go.

You can have many mates but not her!" mom told him but Dante 's attitude was like a cold drink. His cold gaze made me feel weak inside.

"She's mine to mark! I decided to keep her as my mate for good, ma'am. That's the rule here. You know that and if you insisted to take her with you, your son will be in great danger!", he warned my mom and me.

I don't want to put my family in danger. I decided to stay.

"Mom, just go. This is my life now. Just take good care of my brother Maverick for me", tears started to stream down my face. This was the first time I stood again in front of my mother.

I saw Asher wanted to defend me but he chose to be quiet. Mom quickly wrapped her arms around me tightly like she won't let me go.

"Baby, I am sorry for not keeping you safe! I tried but I guess this is your destiny and I hope that you will accept it with courage!", she whispered beneath my ears.

I tried not to cry again but I love my family. I just prayed that nothing will harm them while I am here inside the palace.

We heard the Queen's voice behind us.

"So, you came back like nothing happened, Layla !", Queen Aurelia said while making an evil smile towards us.

Mom narrowed her eyes at the Queen and I was confused.

"Yes, I know you got your place now as the Queen but you can't change the past.

You're still the weak Aurelia I knew who---", mom stop when Dante and Asher's mom interrupted.

"Enough! Guards, take her out! I decided to change my mind. Your daughter will stay and will be my son's forever slave! You won't be reunited anymore!", there's hatred in the Queen's voice.

Dante , Asher, and I look confused.

Does my mom know the Queen even before I was born? Does she know this place or does she lived here once?

Dante walked towards me and hold my hands. He pressed it. I felt a strong bond between us. I can feel how Hugo jumps in joy to feel Aria once again.

"You may go, ma'am. I decided to mark your daughter as my mate!", all of them look shocked at Dante 's decision especially his rejected mate, Ashina .
