Chapter 33
“Why do you think he volunteered to become a temporary administrator?” Freya scowled as she looked at Williams and Jason, who were sitting so relaxed, talking about something she had no idea about.
They paused as they raised their heads to look at Freya, who seemed lost in her thoughts.
“He has his own personal reasons and I doubt that is our business!!” Williams muttered as he stood up from the bedside.
“Then why speak for him??” Freya asked in a more serious tone as she furrowed her eyebrows, looking at Williams, who seemed completely unbothered by everything happening.
“I think he is right. Uncle. Edith most definitely had an ulterior motive behind his decision and I know you all know how he could be sometimes, so I suggest that we don’t pock nose in his affair in order not to get him enraged.” Jason muttered as he relapsed on the bed fully like he was about to take a nap.
“A parcel for you, Prince. Williams!!” One of the maids stepped in with a brown envelope that had a red knot.
Their eyes popped up as they were curious as to what must have made Williams keep a serious face all of a sudden.
“Is everything okay??” Jason asked as he hurdled up from the bed.
“You can leave!!” He said, signaling the maid off with his right fingers. “It’s nothing. Just from an unexpected sender.” He muttered as he sat down on the sofa chair.
He furrowed his eyebrows as he gently unknotted the red knot.
“Who is it from??” Jason asked again, and his eyes bulged out when he heard Williams mentioned Edith’s name.
Williams sat down as he slowly pulled off the red knot, and he gently opened the letter and Jason threw himself on the bed, mimicking the scenario of a bomb-blast.
They all laughed at his acting before they got serious again. Edith Ellsworth sending a parcel to Williams was so unexpected, and it has never happened for hundreds of years now.
“What is in the parcel??” Jason and Freya asked in unison as Williams brought out the white paper from the brown envelope.
He exhaled sharply after reading the first line.
“It’s an invitation to his house by noon. A day, specially for his moonie.”
“Moonie??” Jason chuckled. “You mean he calls her Moonie??” He chuckled softly again in disbelief. “This is completely weird, don’t you think so too, Wills??” He asked Williams who was lost in the letter.
“Wills??” Jason called out for the second time and Williams raised in head in shock.
“Uhh!??” He gasped out as he stared at Jason in a confused state.
“How possible it is that Chloe completely changed Uncle Edith?? And here he is talking about a dinner night with his nephews.” Jason muttered in disbelief.
Williams sighed as he looked at Jason and Freya. “I need to go shopping. I need to look smart tonight. Who knows?? He might like his little nephew!!” Williams chuckled as he propped up from the chair he was seated on as he rushed out of the bedroom, leaving the paper on the chair.
Freya’s eyes went wild in shock when she saw his neatly arranged writing.
They were neat and a typical repetition of a Times New Roman font.
She hurriedly showed Jason, who was also stunned by his neat writing.
“I think Uncle. Edith is completely cute, and he is just much too perfect to be ignored.” Freya whispered, and Jason cleared his throat, signifying that he heard what she was whispering to herself.
She looked at him, sighed and stood up from where she was leaning on.
“And how about your birthday?? How is it the preparation going??” He cuts in.
“I told you, you are not invited for throwing me in the pool. I could have drowned and my long expected 18th birthday wouldn’t have come to be.” She hissed as she looked at him pathetically.
“You know you are only joking around.” Jason scoffed as he pursued her round the room.
Her screams filled the room as she was doing her possible best not to get caught by Jason.
“Are you two actually being serious??” Williams scowled as she walked in. “You know Uncle. Edith loves keeping to time, and he said by 6 PM and now is 4 already. We can’t fail to look good because of Chloe, and I think Chloe is also behind this.” He muttered as he looked at Jason who was now resting on the bed and breathing really fast and Freya who was giggling like a child celebrating a victory.
“You have a point there, though!!” Jason muttered as he stood up. He scattered his wardrobe, looking for the perfect outfit for the night.
Freya excused herself as she went to arrange what she was going to wear for the night, leaving the two boys to themselves.
“I feel Uncle. Edith is hiding something from every one of us. Everything feels so awkward, and I can’t just let go off this feeling.” Williams muttered as he crashed down on the bed.
“His sudden change and now, his volunteering and being nice to us. What if he is luring us to something dark??” Jason mumbled in a low tone.
They both stared at each other as they were finding it hard to believe the sudden change of Edith Ellsworth.
“I think we all have to believe him. I guess Chloe’s kindness and charming aura bewitched him!!” Freya opened the door. “Yeah, yeah!! My bad. I know it’s bad to eavesdrop, but I knew you both wanted to discuss something important behind my back.” She grinned as she walked in.
“But what if Jason is right?? What if he is luring us into his trap??” Freya muttered.
