Chapter 69: Edmond
The air was chilly as we were for a long time riding on dragons back.
Two dragons were flying alongside while a huge dark one was on the front leading us to the unknown.
Marcus felt a shiver run through my body as I was starting to feel cold, so he pulled me closer to his front and wrapped his arms tighter, securing me in place.
The feeling was out of this world, to be in my mates embrace, but we all knew that the danger was not gone, just postponed.
I turned to look to our side to see my brother on the front with Logan sitting on the back, trying not to be too close to James.
The sight was hysterical to witness as the two bickered whole the way from the Elders lands.
"I swear to you I will throw you off this dragon if I feel your ass anymore closer to me!" Logan yelled making Marcus and me look at them and laugh at the comical scene the two were showing.
James trying to get comfortable, but too close to Logan who had a scowl plastered all over his features the entire ride.
Soon enough we rushed through the clouds and clear bright sunlight, bathed all over us, blinding us for a moment until our eyes adjusted.
I was holding onto Marcus tight, but not feeling any fear, as slowly we started to lower down closer to the ground and we could see a giant castle appearing before us.
Dragons landed gently as they could down, lowering their huge bodies so we can climb off, and the moment we did, we saw them shift back to their human forms.
Marcus covered my eyes, making me chuckle at the action, not removing them until all three, Wyatt, Zen, and Damon were dressed.
When he removed his hands off of my eyes, I saw everyone laughing at us as Damon said, "Scared that she might like what she would see aren't you wolf-boy?"
Marcus scoffed, "Yeah right. Think about what you like if that will make you feel better lizard."
Everyone laughed even Marcus did, and the atmosphere was calm and friendly, almost as home-like.
I was happy we were away and out from the dungeons of the Elders court, and hoping to never see it again.
"What is the meaning of this son?" A hard tone of a male voice reached us all, making us look ahead towards the giant marble stairs that lead to the huge front gate of the castle.
Damon turned around and said, “This are my friend’s father and they are in need of our help.”
The older man that resembled so much to a younger version that I knew and cared for as my own brother, looked at Damon then at all of us, “Help?”
Damon stood tall and proud as he approached his father and spoke, “Alpha Marcus and my dear friend Olivia were imprisoned by the Elders court.”
His father’s eyes slightly widened as they drifted back towards us. Soon the realization came to him as he looked back to his son, “You broke into the Elders lands and took them?”
Damon didn't back down not even when it was clear in the voice of his father that he was not pleased by the action that his son just did. "They have the right to be together and no one nor stupid Law should separate the two that were destined by the Moon Goddess.”
His father was silent for a moment as he was watching his son, then turning to look back at us all. He nodded his head and said, “It is true, but they will search for them and if they saw you then first where they will come will be the Opal lands.”
Damon grinned as his father shook his head and slightly smiled, “You are stubborn as your mother was but courageous as me when I was at your age my boy.”
I felt as the heavyweight was lifted off of my chest when his father approached down the stairs and came to us, "Welcome to the Opal dragon lands. I am Damien, the previous Alpha of this pack that is now ruled by my son Damon."
He smiled at us as he extended his hand and we all shook as we got to introduce each other.
“Come inside, I am sure someone will be anxious to see you two again.” Damien chuckled as he led us all inside the huge castle.
I looked at Damon and the others, wondering about who Damien was talking about, but soon as we entered, in a blink of an eye, I was wrapped in a tight embrace of my best friend Mandy.
"O, my Goddess! You are here!" Mandy exclaimed wrapping her arms tighter making it difficult to breathe.
“Dear God woman let her go you will choke her hugging her to death.” James joked as he pulled Mandy away from me, “What? You aren’t happy to see me?” he asked her making her to smack his chest and jump into his arms.
"Ollie!" I heard Lizzy's voice and saw her and Annie running towards me as they both jumped at me and hugged me.
“Seriously?” Logan’s voice came, making us three to look his way when Lizzy fast hugged me and rushed towards him but was beaten by Tanner who surprised her and Logan as he jumped and hugged Logan.
"Get the fuck off me you dumbass!" Logan growled, trying to get free from Tanner's embrace who pretended he was about to kiss him making all of us to laugh at the scene.
Finally, as he got free from Tanner, he rushed towards Lizzy and pulled her into him as he hugged her tight.
“I am heartbroken! Our love was so pure.” Tanner faked crying making us all to laugh even more.
Damien walked towards Tanner and patted his back, "Don't worry son, I am sure soon enough you will find your own too."
"Give him a mirror and he will kiss it the whole day long," Logan grunted making us all laugh as Tanner faked hurt.
Lizzy smacked his arm making him to look surprised at her, “What was that for?”
"Be nice, he just missed you," Lizzy said innocently making Logan to roll his eyes.
Marcus and I were watching at them showing so openly and freely their connection that it surprised us. We did know that they were hiding it but now to see them act as a couple was different, in a good way.
Logan and Lizzy noticed us staring at them which made them both chuckle, as Logan asked laughing, “What?”
Marcus blinked before he said, “Nothing…just didn’t expect to see you two out in the open…”
Lizzy blushed as Logan grinned, “Hell we decided if you two can heck why should we be any different so…” he wrapped an arm around Lizzy as he pulled her into his side and puffed his chest out as he said, “Lizzy and I are accepting each other as mates and are officially together.”
Loud cheers and applause was heard at the announcement. Tanner raised his hand up to silence everyone so he can speak, “Well technically you are official when you mark each other, do you plan on doing that anytime soon?”
Logan narrowed his eyes at him and said slowly, “It is none of your business.”
Marcus looked at me and I saw the warmth filled with love shining in his eyes. His expression was unreadable making me wonder what he was thinking.
“Well, you just came in time for lunch, so shall we all go and eat now?” Damien said cheerfully and we all happily agreed as we followed after him to a giant dining hall filled with Opal pack members.
They all greeted us warmly as we joined down the table with them and soon the lunch was served and we eat as our tummies could hold.
As lunch was finished, we walked towards Damon’s office and sat down on a couch as others sat on the other one that was opposite Marcus and me and Tanner, while Wyatt, Zen, Damien, and Damon took free chairs.
“So do you have any plan for what to do now?” Damien asked, looking at us all.
Marcus was the one to speak first, “Well we can’t stay here as you said, they will be looking at us here first.”
Everyone agreed with that.
Damon turned towards his father, “Do you have any suggestions?”
Damien was silently thinking when his eyebrows raised and a smile graced his face, “We should ask Edmond.”
We all looked at him expectantly, wanting to know who that is.
"Edmond is our pack Elder who has a special and rare gift. You see he is like a Seer, an all-seeing one, stubborn as hell, but a good-hearted old man." Damien said making our eyebrows rise, hearing that and more than ever agreeing to that idea, as Damon left and rushed to find the old dragon.
