Chapter 63

I began to tell Mcconner's about that night. How I got extremely sick but how I survived. Then I brought up the Goddess. He was intrigued when I told him she was real. When I told him about how my wolf was a first warrior and my strength, I used all my strength and tore through my straps. He did not act quick enough because he was taken by surprise.

I grabbed him by the neck and squeezed. I continued to squeeze and squeeze he went limp in my hands, and I checked him out, he was dead. McConners was finally dead. Now I just needed to find Hayden and get out of this place. I grabbed the key and that was attached to Mcconner's belt loop.

I then opened the door and slipped out. The room was small, and I took a deep breath. I needed to find Hayden. I looked down, and inwardly laughed at the situation. Here I was butt naked, killed the biggest enemy to Lycans by strangulation because he was caught off guard, but I was stuck in a lab torture place and needed to get my mate and escape.

The whole thing just sounded ridiculous when I thought about it. Like why Mcconner's was so easy to kill it was just weird and funny at the same time. No, I told myself. I need to focus. First things first is find Hayden. Then we need to escape.

I left the room and was stopped by a man. I ran up to him, jumped on him, and grabbed his throat. I dug my half-transformed arm and ripped out his throat. He fell to the floor, and I dropped it. That is something new I think to myself. I can half transition from wolf to human. I continued to walk more upright now.

I was angry if anyone wanted to try with me, they were in for a bloody death. I heard gunshots. I began to run toward them. I had to tear through a few people to get to where the shots rang out. I could hear screaming but no more guns. I walked through the doors to see an almost all black Wolf.

It was Koa Hayden's wolf. “KOA” I yelled. The wolf turned toward me and ran. He jumped over the various bodies of people he killed. I mind linked Hayden.

“I killed McConners’”

“Good now let's get the hell out.” I thought for a moment.

“We can’t”

“And why the hell not.”

“We need to kill them all.”

“We need numbers to do that.”

“No now is the time.”

Without wasting time or becoming a target I ran back to where Koa had been and shifted. Ayla began ripping into people. Koa, Hayden's wolf, joined in. We moved hall by hall. Killing everyone in our path. We had been at it for hours.

We were nearing the exit and had almost killed everyone. When I came to one of the rooms. It was like a waiting room in a doctor's office. I stuck my head in and began to growl I knew someone was in there. I went around and saw no one.

I put my snout in the air and sniffed. They were hiding behind the weird check in counter desk. I jumped up and went behind then bent down and saw them. I was shocked. There was a woman and two men I knew well. My uncle and my father.

I Looked at the women. She looked at me with hatred and I couldn’t help my anger I reached my snout under the table and bit into her. I dragged her out and bit her again shaking her till I heard her neck snap then I dropped her.

I went back to where my uncle and father were hiding. They both looked terrified. I walked away and went to go get the body of the man I killed out in front of the waiting room. I shifted and put on the tattered shirt. It was big and covered my important bits. I returned to where my father and uncle were.

I offered my hand to pull them out. “What are you doing here?” Just then Koa entered the room. He saw what was going on and approached me. His big head was nudging into my body. I looked at him and asked.

“Are the rest dead?” When we had gotten the upper hand of the building, we split up to make faster work of the slaughter. Koa nodded. I was happy but then I remembered who was right in front of me. I looked back at them.

“What are you doing here.”

“They said they would help you.”

“Well, they didn’t, now why you are here?”

“Ember, you killed all those people.”

“I know. Now I am not going to ask again why are you here.”

“They wanted details on you. We were waiting to see a man called McConnors he said he was here to help you. He thought you could be cured.”

“Did you know how he was going to help me?”

“Umm, well.”

“Did you.”

“Yes, but we thought it would work.” I began to growl. They knew that he intended to hurt me. They were okay with it.

“How could you.”

“Ember, “

My uncle Dave cut my dad off “I have always been straight with you, and I will be now. You are a monster. You need help. I mean look at you. You killed that poor woman.”

“Leave now. I don’t ever want to see your faces again.” I was enraged with them. If they stayed before me a moment longer, they would end up the same as the women they saw me kill. The two of them got up and left the little waiting room. I turned to Koa. He shifted back to Hayden.

“Should we go home?” He spoke.

“Yeah, we have one more piece of business.”

“Monroe.”
