8 – THE ONE WITH OREO’S LOOKALIKE 1.6
"Wait, did you tell me I look like a dog? Did I understand what you said correctly? It's a bit unclear," I said to her, teasingly.
"Yes. You look like Oreo, my dog, when she was a puppy. You look like a fucking golden retriever." She said so seriously that I stopped laughing.
Seriously?! She told me that my pretty face looked like a puppy?! This is the first time someone has judged my appearance. Wow! It's not because she's so pretty there---wait, Oreo is cute.
"Are you calling me cute?" I asked her with all my heart.
"In your dreams, Parker. You look like a literal dog." When she plays with us, we sit together on the chair.
"Get out of my room now." she ordered. Her voice seemed serious so I quickly grabbed my clothes and put them on.
I was about to grab the towel, but I was stopped when she suddenly grabbed it and walked towards the stairs to the 2nd floor.
Wait a minute...
"I'm the one who's---"
"Out now. You're spending too much time here. You're being too comfortable." she said as she climbed the stairs while still holding my towel.
I saw her go inside the room upstairs and she slammed the door when she closed it so I jumped up from where I was standing and quickly got ready to leave. I didn't take anything else and hurriedly left her room. I closed the red door when I left and leaned against it.
My heart was still beating so fast. I couldn't help but put my hand on her chest to feel the pounding. Why do I always feel this every time she's around? Is she really that much of an effect on everyone?
Also...
What the fxck just happened?!
I just sat there quietly while slowly combing my straight hair. I stayed like this for a few minutes, stunned as I faced my reflection in the mirror on the white vanity table in the room.
"Where's the dog?" I asked stupidly at my reflection in the mirror.
I've been staring at myself for a while now, looking for Oreo's trace in my face. There's not even the slightest resemblance, apart from the fact that we're both cute.
An involuntary smile formed in my lips. I still haven't admitted that I just want to be called cute.
When I noticed that I was smiling like an idiot in front of the mirror, I quickly adjusted my seat and wiped the smile off my lips, looking at my reflection with a frown.
What's with that smile, Sky? You were told you looked like a dog. Besides, even if she told you how cute you were directly or complimented your appearance, why are you smiling like an idiot? Are you excited?
I shook my head to erase that thought in my head. You're just happy because somehow she's starting to treat you better.
"How was that a good deal when they threw a towel in your face? Then they told you you looked like a dog..." I asked myself remembering what happened earlier.
Why are you overthinking again?!
I stood up from my seat and walked over to my backpack on the bed. I sat down on the bed with a thud because I was so annoyed with myself.
It's not just Thera that I can't get enough of, even though I have a hard time understanding myself.
I pulled the backpack towards me and opened it to put my wallet and charger in. I also picked up my cellphone that was under the pillow to check the time.
I was just overthinking it, it was already eleven at night and I still hadn't gotten home.
I put on my backpack, while I put my phone in the pocket of my pants. I looked in the mirror to check myself before going out.
I'm wearing loose end pants and a black fitting v-neck shirt tucked in. I can see the wound on my neck. I can't see a turtle neck in my belongings, so I'm going to put on the clothes I wore most of the day until I got home.
I just let my thick hair down and used it to partially cover the small nail marks on my neck. When I was satisfied with my appearance, I walked towards the door.
I was about to turn the doorknob, but I suddenly stopped because I suddenly remembered Thera.
Why do I remember her?! And what?!
I don't know if I should say goodbye when I'm going home. But I probably shouldn't because it's my rest day. I never said goodbye when I was leaving and going home. Besides, how should I say goodbye? Should I knock on her door in her room on the second floor?
I mentally slapped my forehead. Why are you so stressed, Sky? Go out and go home.
I took a deep breath and opened the door.
I was so surprised when I opened the door because of the person who greeted me. Her right hand was raised, the kind that looked like she was about to knock. It was as if she was the golden cat that removes bad luck that suddenly stopped waving. We were both stunned and stared at each other.
There's my chest again!!
"Th-Thera?" I called her name while her expression was still shocked.
It seemed like she didn't expect me to open the door.
She quickly recovered from her shock and crossed her arms over her chest. From her shocked expression, she turned into a poker face again as she looked straight at me.
Wait a minute. Why is she here? Is she supposed to be knocking on my door?
"Why? Do you need something?" I asked trying to compose myself because my internal organs were starting to fail again.
She didn't answer and just glanced at me from head to toe. She did that about three times, then followed it with a frown and a deep sigh.
What sin have I committed?!
"W-why? There's a problem---"
I didn't finish my question when she suddenly turned around and started walking away without saying anything. I frowned as I watched her walk away. You see, this guy is on a very strong trip. Who wouldn't overthink things with that attitude?
I finally left the room and for some reason I didn't know, I followed her. I was like a child following her through the long hallway, the lights dim because it was already eleven at night.
She wasn't heading in the direction of the rooftop. I didn't know where she was going either. All I knew was that she was walking so I followed. Right? It makes no sense.
We walked for a few minutes until she stopped, so I stopped too. After that, she slowly looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
"Are you following me?" she asked grumpily.
I wanted to say, I thought you wanted me to follow you, but I held my mouth shut because later she would rush me. It's still dark in this part and it's just the two of us. No one can call for help.
"Ah, uhmmm. No," I replied in a meaningless tone.
