Mia's POV
Amanda stormed into her room in anger. Why did she have to see Mila here, of all places? She should have just vanished into thin air or gone somewhere far away. How was she supposed to achieve her aim in this pack when Mila was now the muse of Adrian? How would she get close to Adrian and get the information she needs? She needed to act fast so she couldn't be won over by Mila. She needed to get rid of Mila. And to get rid of Mila, she wouldn't go straight up to harm her, she has to make sure she does it slow and steady. She has to think of a way that Mila wouldn't suspect. A way that no one would suspect. Even if it means eliminating her, she wouldn't mind.
Amanda sat down on the couch in her room and smirked slightly.

I stared at myself in the mirror while arranging my hair. I had left the office as it was time for Adrian to go to his scheduled meeting. I just finished taking a shower and trying to prepare for bed when I heard a slight knock at the door.
Who would it be by this time of the night? It is not Adrian, as he said he would come back late, but definitely before midnight. I sighed and walked lazily to the door. I opened the door, half expecting to see Felicia in front of me again. I haven't seen her for quite some time and it didn't bother me in the slightest way. It wouldn't surprise me if the person at the door is Felicia, who wants to cause trouble again. But nothing could have prepared me for who I saw. It was Adrian's Aunt. The one I had refused to hang out with.
She was staring at me with so much resentment in her eyes and didn't even bother to hide it.
"Umm...hello ma'am...Adrian isn't around," I managed to say.
She seemed to observe me for a moment in silence before pushing me aside and entering the room. She stopped at the center and examined it. She had that judge look on her face and I didn't like it.
"Where is Adrian?" she asked
"I told you just now that he isn't around," I whispered.
She turned around to stare sharply at me.
"You're still rude as before," she commented.
"Sorry," I apologized, solely to suit her ego.
"Sorry for yourself. What are you doing here?" she said and examined me. "Dressed in a bathrobe?" she gritted her teeth.
"I stay here with Adrian," I answered, trying not to piss her off.
Truthfully, I didn't care about pissing her off. I just don't want to do something to offend Adrian. If he changes his mind about treating me nicely, that would utterly mean he might chase me out of the pack. And that's the last thing I'd want happening.
"What do you mean you stay here with Adrian?" she questioned, staring at me like I was a trash back that was supposed to be tossed aside as worthless.
"Like I stay here with him. That's what I said," I said, smiling.
"Who are you to him? A bed warmer? Because if you were more than that, he would have introduced you to me a long time ago," she spat, trying hard to control her anger.
I could see my remark pissed her off, and she was trying to use her words to tell me who was in control here. I knew that method but didn't want to say anything.
''I am more than a bed warmer ma'am. Maybe the reason you don't know me yet is because Adrian must have had his reasons for not doing so," I spoke, still maintaining the slight smile plastered on my face.
"I presume so then. But there's something else you must know," she continued
"What is it ma'am," I asked, trying to sound interested so she wouldn't feel disrespected.
"You are going to leave this room now,'' she ordered.
I stared at her for a moment, wondering if she was simply trying to pull my legs or something. She raised a brow, expecting me to say something, which I took as a sign of her being serious.
"You're serious," I stated
"Does it look like I'm joking?" she asked
"You should get to know me. Being hostile toward me is something that wouldn't help the both of us and might sever our relationship in the future," I said, trying to sound as meek as possible.
"What's your name?" she asked softly, taking me by surprise.
"Mila," I answered, seemingly confused
"Ok. Mila, I am the Aunt to Adrian, and I would choose or decide what's best for him. And right now, I am telling you to leave this room, or I will call the guards to throw you out," she threatened.
Has she gone crazy? She didn't like me that much? Why would she just barge into the room and decide something for me? It was up to Adrian to decide if I should leave the room or stay. Sh, didn't have any power here. But deep Inside, I know the guards respected her. I was just someone Adrian probably adored. And I do t have any title in the palace. If she called the guards and they threw me out, that would be so humiliating. I could let that happen to me. At least I should hold my face up high while I'm being bullied. When Adrian comes back, all of this will be sorted out.
"There's no need to disturb the guards as they might be having some rest by now," I said and started walking toward the closet. Before I could reach for the closet door handle, she held my hand in place and yanked me back. I must confess, she has quite the strength that I almost stumbled back.
"What else do you want? I'm going to change my clothes so I can go to another room and sleep," I said, almost snapping.
"Who says anything about you going to change?" she frowned
"What do you mean?" I asked
"You are going to get out of this room like this. I don't want you Infecting this place more with your presence. I'm going to disinfect it once you're out," she scoffed
"I can't possibly go out in these, you psycho," I snapped
Smack....
Before I could finish the rest of my sente
nce, I felt a hot slap land on my cheeks.
