Adrian's POV

Watching the hurt that flashed through Mila's eyes when she saw me banging my slut made me feel uneasy. The way she stared at me with uncertainty made my heart ache. I don't know why, but I felt like what I was doing was wrong. She was only my breeder. Why should I be feeling guilty? The way I had talked to her wasn't nice, but that was the least I could do to stop myself from going toward her and explaining myself. Worse still, telling her I wouldn't do it again. I turned around and went into the bathroom to wash up as I had no urge to finish up the sex I had initiated. I guess she must have thought I went to finish up because she wasn't in the office when I came back in.

By the time my slut left, it was nighttime already. I walked into the room and saw her lying on the bed and eating. I scoffed. Bad eating manner. It seemed she didn't want to talk to me as she averted her gaze from me. I walked into the bathroom to wash up for the night so I could retire to bed. By the time I was done, I looked at the bed and discovered she had left the room.

I stared at the clock and it was almost midnight. Fuck. She was supposed to be in here and not roaming around the palace when it was almost midnight. She might hurt someone. I felt my mind race from fear as I put on my shorts and a shirt and bolted out of the room. Could this day get any worse? I knew nothing would happen to her as she was the threat here. She wasn't her normal self and couldn't control her throat for blood at this early stage.

I checked around the palace but there was no sign of her. The palace was dead silent and there was no one around to ask for her whereabouts. I ran over to the royal garden as she would always go there, but there was no one there. If my heart was skipping before, it was racing this time around. Where could she have gone by this time of the night? Although it was a relief that no one was roaming around, if not, there was no telling what could go wrong.

"If I was a winged demon, where would I go?" I thought to myself. Then it hit me. The forest in the palace. She would go into the forest. She was a winged demon for goodness sake. That was where she would go. I rushed over in the direction of the forest in panic. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me.

"Mila," I called out. There was no response. The only sound that could be heard from the forest where the sound of the owls and crickets. I walked further into that forest and stopped when I heard a low growl.

I turned around slowly and my heart caught in my chest. There was Mila, or should I say a winged demon, staring at me like I was prey. Her eyes were white as snow and eluded a dangerous aura. I took a step back in fear. I had forgotten to bring the incantation balm.

She didn't move and just watched me for a moment before pouncing on me. I struggled to free myself from her hold. She was stronger than I had imagined. She was making an angry sound and trying to claw me. She wasn't this angry the last time. Why was she being aggressive? The winged demons only became much more aggressive when they had been angered in their normal form. Seeing me with my slut must have triggered her anger. I snapped when she opened her mouth and her fangs were in its full glory, glowing dangerously in the moon.

"Mila, stop," I yelled.

She paused and stared at me with such sad eyes. I felt her changing back to her human form before she passed out.

I placed her gently on the bed and used a warm towel to massage her body. She was cold and I didn't know any ways to make her warmer. She refused to get into the warm bath I had prepared and I was left with no choice but to do this. She lay motionless while I was massaging her. She hadn't said a word to me since she regained consciousness, although I know why. I didn't try to bring up any conversations as I knew I was going to be ignored.

When I noticed she had gotten much better, I walked over to the couch and lay there. I wasn't about to feel uncomfortable with someone who didn't even want to talk to me.

I might have slept off because, by the time I woke up, Mila wasn't on the bed anymore. I sighed and stood up. She was avoiding me. Well, I was busy as well, there was no need to care about her avoiding me.

I walked over to my study after ordering them to bring my breakfast into the study. I would give her the space she so requires. If she could get used to seeing me with other women, she should leave then. I wasn't forcing her to stay in the pack.

I munched on my breakfast in anger.

Max walked Into my office, staring at me with such urgency.

"What is it?" I asked

He contemplated whether to tell me or not. For Pete's sake, why did he come into my office, when he didn't know if he should break the news to me or not?

"A murder has been committed," he said

I felt myself stiff.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, raising a brow.

He inhaled. "One of the maids had been killed," he announced.

"You realize this isn't something you should joke around with right?" I warned.

"I am not joking. A maid was brutally murdered last night," he answered

"Last night?" I probed further, my head in chaos.

"Yes. Around the forest area," he said.

I frowned. Forest area. The only people that went into the forest area last night were I and Mila. Did Mila kill someone before I came?

"Where's the body?" I asked, standing up to my feet.

"I'm afraid, there's nobody," he replied.

"How could there be nobody?" I asked, almost furious.

"The only thing we found was the murdered maid's clothes that were soaked in blood and another maid who had survived," he continued

"Survived the attack?" I inquired

"Yes," he said

"Let's go. I need to see things for myself," I said and we both walked out.

The palace was chaotic, with some people whispering. There was a small gathering of people around something. We walked up to the crowd and they dispersed upon seeing us.

There sat a man who was quivering in fear. She held her hands to her body as tears trailed down her eyes.

"What's going on?" I asked.

The maid looked up to me and held my robe.

"The monster killed my sister," she cried out

"What monster?" I asked.

"A monster," she replied, somewhat lost.

I bent down to meet her gaze and gently rubbed her hair

"Tell me. How does this monster look," I asked

"It has wings and is scary. It looked like a beast," she wept.

My heart pounded in my chest. Mila had Indeed killed someone. What was she thinking? She knew she couldn't control herself, then why did she have to go out?

I stood up and smiled at the girl. She was too young to experience this kind of thing. I turned ti other maids around.

"Clean her up and take her to a therapist. She needs to get all these out of her head so it won't scar her for life," I ordered and turned to the girl

"It'll be alright," I assured and she nodded

"Let's go," I turned to Max and he nodded.

"What are you going to do about this? Someone in this palace is perpetrating such evil," Max said as we walked back to my study.

"Max. I don't know what to do. I'll think of something and I'll get back to you," I said and paused

"You can go. I'll call for you when I need you," I said and he nodded before walking away.

I sighed and sat in my office. Did Mila just do something like this? I knew she was angry when she saw me with my slut, but I never expected her to take it out on someone else by killing her. That was not cool. Now I have to find a way out of this. How do I even bring up the topic to her that she might have murdered someone while she was in the forest? Did she even know she was in the forest?

I doubt she would remember anything. What do I do?
