Chapter 77: Bears In the Castle
Chapter 77: Bears In the Castle
“Your majesties, there are bears...” a male trailed off as he ran into the room coming to a stop and his jaw dropped. He rubbed his eyes. “Am I seeing things?” He asked.
“Only if I’m seeing things also. How long has it been big brother?” Babaloo snorted.
“Uuggg...” Mimi groaned raising her hands in the air. “Just great! Another big dumb bear?”
Babaloo snickered and his brother frowned. “Big brother, this is Mimi, my mate... my wolf mate.” Babaloo introduced.
“Wholly shit! You found your mate?!” Alex yelped. “Congratulations!” He said, hugging his little brother and went to hug Mimi, but she growled at him using her index finger to stop him from getting any closer to her. He held his hands up with a snicker.
“Don’t pay her no mind. Hi, I’m her twin brother, Milo, the better looking and more awesome twin. It’s nice to meet you.” Milo smiled shaking Alex’s hand.
“Milo, good to meet you.” Alex said chuckling. “And you can call me Buzz.”
A couple of voice cleared. “Oh, sorry. Griz, you remember my brother, Alex.” Babaloo said.
“Sure do.” Griz slapped Alex’s back. “Alex, good to see you again. It’s been a long time.” Griz said shaking hands.
“Alex, look at you.” Lita smiled hugging him. “You look like an actual bear.” She laughed ruffling his wild hair and beard. “This is our daughter, Myra.” Myra waved from behind her dad. “And this is Tate, our youngest and possibly our future Alpha Boar. That’s if Myra doesn’t find her mate before he comes of age.”
“Yeah, well he can have it.” She grumbled making her mom chuckle.
Buzz felt his bear rumble in his chest and whisper, “Mate.”
Before Buzz could respond his Queen spoke. “A family reunion?” Reign asked with a huge smile.
“Yeah. Queen Reign, this is my baby brother, Babaloo, his mate, Mimi, her brother, Milo and our Alpha Boar, Grizzly, his mate, Lita and their cubs, Myra and Tater.” He introduced his family.
“I didn’t even know you had a brother.” Reign raised a brow at him. “Anyway, it’s very nice to meet you, Baba. We welcome all of you to our family.” She smiled.
“Baba, you, Mimi, Milo, Griz and family can stay with me. I have more than enough room.” Alex said. “When I decided to stay on and be part of the Royal family’s security team, Reign insisted on giving me my own wing of the palace. For when I found my mate, we would have all the room we needed to raise our cubs.” He snickered.
“Uh NO way...NO thank you. I don’t think so.” Mimi held her hand up. “NO way am I sleeping with this big dumb stinky bear.” She said as a ghost of smile crossed her lips. She accepted Babaloo as her mate, but she wasn’t going to admit it, not yet anyway. She knew that he knew she accepted him, when they were alone, she would sit just a little closer to him, let him touch her hand even hold her hand. She knew she was given a gift, her mate. She never had any intentions of rejecting him.
“Fine, I’ll sleep with him.” Milo said wrapping his arm around Babaloo’s shoulder making Mimi growl.
“Sorry Milo, but you’re not my type”. Babaloo laughed pushing Milo away.
“Hands off brother dear.” Mimi’s wolf grumbled.
“Just kidding sis.” Milo laughed. “I know he’s your big dumb stinky bear.”
Mimi pushed her wolf back and rolled her eyes at her brother. “Milo, please keep your sister outta trouble.” Kydence smirked.
“You got it Luna baby.” Milo mock saluted.
“Really Kyde?” Mimi scoffed.
Kydence shrugged her shoulders. “See ya at dinner. And Mimi,” she called out, “be nice.” She laughed.
“FINE!” Mimi grumbled. “Let’s go big dumb stinky bear’s brother.” She motioned for him to lead the way.
They all had time to go to their rooms to clean up and rest for a little while. When six o’clock rolled around they all started to make their way to the King and Queen’s private residence.
“We’re here.” Kydence smiled as she, Storm, Lita, and Queen Reign walked in. The men stood and greeted their mates.
“We just needed to get all the little ones settle in.” Reign said.
“Let me guess, Rebel is guarding Princess Aspyn?” Damien asked with a smile.
“He’s so cute and gentle with her.” Reign cooed.
“She already has him wrapped around her little finger.” Storm giggled. “And this little one wanted to stay close to us.” She looked at her little girl, who was sitting with Marco coloring.
“How is she doing with all this?” Damien asked.
“She’s doing good, she has some nightmares, but we always try and make sure that one of us is always with her.” Storm told them.
“Well, she’s young and hopefully as time goes on, she will forget all about this or maybe Tundra can lock the memories away.” Reign smiled.
“Maybe, I guess it’s something we can discuss with Tundra at a later date.” Storm said more to herself.
Damien cleared his throat. “First of all,” Damien said getting his guests attention, “I would like to welcome our guests from the Stone Clan, Shadow Mountain and SilverHawk packs. We’ve been brought together because a certain little she-wolf,” he said and looked over at River, who smiled and batted her eyes at him, “was taken from her family and with the help of the Shadow Wolves she’s been reunited with her family.” He said chuckling to himself.
Blasé stepped forward. “We would like to thank everyone here for helping us bring our little girl home to us. Without your help we may have never found her.”
“Y’all have our deepest gratitude.” Storm sniffled.
“Mama, no cwy.” River said hugging her mama’s legs.
“These are happy tears my love.” Storm told her caressing her little girl’s cheek.
“So, tell us what’s going on.” Reign said as they took their seats.
River sat on her mama’s lap, wiggled her little butt to make herself comfortable. “You comfy?” Storm asked. River nodded her head and started picking up the small pieces of food that Marco cut up and put on a small plate in front of her.
Everyone ate and enjoyed their meal, having small conversations between each other. Rebel and Ryder refused to leave Princess Aspyn and Sadie’s side so Strom and Blasé situated themselves between or next to their boys. It was a very unusual situation that was ahead of them but again that would be dealt with after the pending hearings.
Silas shook his head at his brother, Damien, getting permission to begin the discussion for the upcoming trial. “Excuse me, if everyone is ready, we need to talk about the trials.” Silas stated. “Lylah will need to be in Court at 8 am with trial starting at 8:30.” Silas started. “Burican and his men will stand trial at 8:30 and then Max and Eric will face their charges. They are scheduled for 10:30.”
“Are we really going to need two hours for his men?” Storm asked.
“Probably not but I figured you might want a break to get something to drink and go potty.” Silas told her. Storm heard River giggle and whisper to Marco that Silas said, ‘mama had to go potty.’ The room chuckled at that; River didn’t realize yet that everyone could hear what she said.
“What will you need from the Shadow’s as far as security is concerned during the trials?” Kydence asked.
“Well, if you don’t mind, I would like to keep Spencer and Spyder as the court bailiffs.” Reign smirked as she looked over to them both. “Spyder hates me calling him a bailiff.” She laughed.
“I am not a bailiff. I am a Shadow Elite Warrior.” He grumbled. “But I will not deny my Queen’s request.” He said with a huff.
“That would be a great help since the rest of the Shadows will still be settling in and I have no idea who I will be assigning to the Moon Court.” Kyde sighed.
“Spyder and Spencer can fill that role until you have figured everything out.” Reign did a little wiggle dance.
“It will be our pleasure.” Spencer bowed with a little sarcasm behind it.
“Thank you and please be assured that I will not keep you on court duty.” Kyde smiled.
Damien could see the relief on Spyder’s face, he was the quiet one of the three Shadow brothers. He also hoped that Kyde and her family could help them find out where they came from and what happened to their parents. Damien cleared his throat, getting everyone’s attention. “Once they are dealt with Reign and I would like to speak with all of you about having Shadow Mountain and SilverHawk settle here with Raven-Hunt.” Damien said.
“Wait, as in move here, to the palace?” Silas responded in surprise.
“Well, not living in the palace but we can get each of your packs situated within the territory here in the kingdom.” Reign smiled. “We have plenty of land that will accommodate all your needs.”
“That’s a big change and move.” Kydence frowned.
“We just think that since Dakota and Kydence are the Shadow pack and Blasé and Storm are the Moon Court that it might be easier for all of us to work closer together to protect our kingdom, all supernatural’s and humans.” Damien stated.
“And we think that’s a wonderful idea as well.” A voice agreed and clapped her hands making everyone jump and growl.
