The revelation about Lexus’ true identity became the talk of the whole pack and even some other neighboring packs, who learned about the news. Daffodil could not believe that her mate was not really a Beta but an Alpha. Although she does not look into that aspect as she loves Lexus whoever he is, it made her happy on the thought that no one will question and hinder anymore the mate bond between them.
Daffodil’s freedom was also restored. She was not a guest confined to the four walls of her room anymore. She can roam around the pack house and even outside. She could go wherever she wanted to go and do whatever she wanted to do. It was a refreshing change of setup.
“Sweetheart, it has been a week since the revelation happened and you were declared as the real son and heir of the Alpha, yet Drew is not yet showing his face in here again. He did not even try to be present during the wake and burial of his real father, former Beta Sandro,” Daffodil stated. They were at the dining area having their late breakfast. The rest of the pack including the Alpha had their breakfast ahead of them already.
“Yeah, we have assigned two of our warriors to search for him since two days ago, but they have not come back yet. It means, they have not found Drew until this time.” Lexus put down his spoon and fork and looked at Daffodil with a sad expression.
“I felt sad for Trixie. She seemed too affected by Drew’s disappearance.”
Lexus nodded. “Indeed. Drew should have replaced former Beta Sandro, and me. But since he could not be found yet, I will continue to assume in the meantime the Beta position until Drew comes back or the Council of Elders will choose a fitted one from the pack members.”
“I hope Drew will not choose to be a rogue.” Daffodil shook her head after saying so with a gloomy expression.
“I hope too, he will not ever think to be a rogue. He is always welcome here in the pack.”
“After our breakfast, I will be out of the packhouse. I am going to the city to check on some needed materials that will be used in the renovation of the recreational facility in the packhouse. Would you want to come with me, Sweetheart?”
Daffodil sweetly smiled and nodded. “I would love to.”
After finishing their breakfast, they both prepare for their travel to the city.

After checking on the needed materials for the renovation of the recreational facility in the pack house, Lexus looked at Daffodil and smiled at her, then winked.
"What?" she asked while raising her right brow.
"Let us have a date, Sweetheart. It has been a long time since I have not dated you," Lexus said while beaming at her.
"Hmmm, that is a nice plan, Lex. Where are you going to take me?" she winked at him.
"We can watch a movie if you like then dine-in in a fine dining restaurant thereafter. You know, even if our place is not as high-tech as that in New York City, we also have small malls here with cinemas," Lexus suggested while gently scratching his head with a sheepish, boyish look.
Daffodil giggled and then nodded with eyes glowing. "I guess, that is good. I have not watched a movie for quite some time. Let us go, Sweety?" she said while latching on his right arm.
A wide smile let out from Lexus’ lips upon Daffodil's agreement with his suggestion. "Sure, let us go now, Sweetheart," he uttered after kissing the top of her head.
Lexus knew that in New York, Daffodil surely enjoyed all luxuries she could have and maybe dated wealthy and professional men who brought her to five-star hotels for a dinner date, have some wine thereafter, or maybe walked inside in elite nightclubs. A fit of sudden jealousy hit his heart. He fell silent while driving, going to the nearest mall with a cinema.
Daffodil made a side glance when she noticed the silence of her beloved mate. She stared at him, observing how serious he was while driving. “Too focus, Sweety, in driving?” she asked while her hand gently tapped his thigh.
Lexus made a sudden twitching of his lips as he felt the gentle touch of Daffodil on his thigh. Sometimes, Lexus could not understand how strong Daffodil’s effect on him could be. A simple touch from her is like a match that would automatically start the fire in between his groin. He snatched her hand and kissed it gently.
“I am just thinking Sweetheart,” he said after giving her a side glance.
“Hmm, what about?”
“Just wondering how was your life in Los Angeles before.” He side glanced at her again.
Daffodil faced him and shook her head. “Most of the time, I was in the office. I attended parties from time to time and have some friendly dates with my good friends. Even my adoptive parents told me that my life was boring,” she said while letting out a hearty laugh. It was true actually. That was her life in the past years.
“Don’t you have any boyfriend before, Daff?” All of a sudden, Lexus asked.
Surprised by the question, Daffodil chuckled. “I don’t have, but I had a very special friend, who was always there for me, who I trusted and never left me in times of trouble.”
“Who?” Lexus’ forehead was furrowing already. He remembered during the time that Daffodil and he had just met and they were inside the garden villa in the resort when someone called on her mobile phone.
“Dixon.”
“How special was he to you, way back then?” Lexus asked again, while the creases on his forehead got deeper.
“He was like a brother to me, Lex. Hey, wait. Sweetheart, are you getting jealous of Dixon?” Daffodil asked grinning.
Lexus shrugged his shoulders without looking at her. “Should I, Daff?” he then asked.
Daffodil laughed out loud. “You are jealous. Goodness, Sweetheart, there is no reason for you to be jealous of Dixon. He was like a brother to me. That was all. Our relationship way back then was purely friendship. Satisfied now?”
As if still contemplating, Lexus, side glanced at her this time and nodded. “If you say so, my love. I will believe you,” he retorted thereafter but his voice seems not firm enough and Daffodil felt worried. Sometimes, she could feel how possessive and jealous, Lexus could be and she does not want things like that. She felt being choked and too pressured.
“Lex, you were my first in everything. My first boyfriend, first kiss, and the first and only man, who I will be making love with for the rest of my life,” Daffodil said to assure him. She look at him and smiled. “I love you, Lexus.”
"Daff, I love you too, so much. You are mine. Mine alone. Whoever will show interest in you, I swear, I will not hesitate to punish," Lexus said with a fierce look and a sudden surge of discomfort filled Daffodil's senses.
