Almost, Daffodil was not able to sleep the whole night. She was even awake until dawn. She never thought that her almost perfect life has this hidden secret, which she can never tell if it will bring her any good or would bring her to her downfall.
It was about five in the morning when her eyes could not take it anymore and her whole body followed. She slept with her mind, seemingly still awake.
It was the beeping of her mobile phone that has awakened Daffodil and to her dismay, it was almost ten o’clock in the morning. She was never a late bed riser; she has been always an early worm; only today that she has awakened this late. With a spinning feeling in her head, she reached for her mobile phone and was even surprised to know that the one calling her was her secretary.
“Ma’am Daffodil, your meeting will start in thirty minutes; are you on your way now?” her secretary asked worried.
“Nope, I am having this terrible headache, I could not come to the office. Please call whoever I had a meeting with and request to re-schedule it for three days from now same time. If they will not accept my time, then just cancel it.” Daffodil replied with a hoarse voice.
Indeed, she could feel her head spinning, she needs to rest and be ready for tonight’s talk with her parents.
At the Packhouse of the Mythical Silver Shadow Pack; Lexus was with Drew, the soon-to-be next Alpha of their pack.
“Lexus, I am wondering where to start searching for my future Luna. Do you have something in mind where to?” Drew asked Lexus while slowly caressing his chin.
Unable to think of any reliable answer, Lexus shrugged his shoulders. “I am also at a loss Drew where the hell to start searching for the missing golden wolf,” he sighed and Drew laughed.
“I thought, I am the only one here grasping for any leads where to find her.” Drew’s laughter died down and was replaced by a confused expression.
“What if we cannot find the missing golden she-wolf Drew? Are you sure you cannot find your mate from our pack or from our nearby packs?” Lexus darted Drew with an inquisitive look.
The soon-to-be Alpha shook his head. “None at this moment Lexus.”
“So am I Drew. We are on the same boat buddy.” Lexus chuckled.
Drew nodded with a gloomy look. “I am still hoping that the Moon Goddess will show me the way to the missing Golden She-wolf because I am confident that she is my mate.”
Lexus cleared his throat and simply nodded. “Maybe yes and maybe not. So while looking for the golden She-wolf, it is better I guess that you also opened your options or senses as we can never tell, maybe your mate is just around the corner.”
“I don’t think so Lexus; my mate is the missing Golden She-wolf. I want no one else but her.” Drew said aloud.

Inside the Marby’s mansion, Daffodil was restless. She did not leave their house the whole day; she has no strength to do so. Although she did not work the whole day, she felt exhausted; really exhausted and she wondered how on earth a person might feel exhausted for just lying on the bed the whole day.
When Daffodil’s parents arrived she could feel her breath faltered. Just a few moments and everything will be spilled to her and she might be then a new Daffodil.
When she heard knocks on her room’s door, Daffodil tried to stand up, but she felt her knees’ bones have weakened.
“Daffodil, we are here now. We will wait for you at our mini library.” It was Mrs. Marby’s voice. When Daffodil did not reply, Mrs. Marby knocked again on her door.
“I heard you, Mom, please give me few minutes, I will follow you in the library,” Daffodil shouted back.
She then heard her Mom’s footsteps slowly fade away.
Daffodil made a long breath and then slowly tried to stand up.
Whether she likes it or not, she needs to know the truth, everything about her. It is only upon knowing the truth that she could be able to move forward again and bravely walk for her next step.
After freshening up, Daffodil gathered all her bravery and walked towards their mini-library; the place where they usually talk serious matters.
The door of the mini-library has been intentionally left open; Daffodil walked more slowly as if counting her every step before finally facing the parents she have known to be her parents her whole life.
And when she finally saw her Dad and Mom, sitting seriously on the couch inside the library; she could feel her heart dribbling in anticipation. Whatever it is that she would found out tonight, it might change her into a new Daffodil but surely, it will never change the love she has for these two people, who showered her with so much love and took good care of her, since her childhood years.
