I wasn’t so sure what John wanted, I told him I’ll make an effort with Nico and now he basically said I don’t have to. Which made me confused which made me ask “So, you don’t want me to get along with Nico?” “No love I, we would love you to get along with him but we don’t want you to force it it should come naturally like it did with us. When you force something, it won’t work.” “But the business and your friendship.” “Enzo, Frank and I told you we will sort that out you don’t have to worry about that.” “John you are confusing me do you want me with Nico or not?” “Love I don’t want you confuse we want you to go with Nico on this trip and if things happen naturally then great, what we don’t want is you forcing it to work, does that make sense?” I thought for a second “Yes it does.” “Well good then you understand, there is something else I should tell you about Nico.” “Okay?” I asked because what do I have to deal with now? “His only going to get you on Wednesday after the Gala, he wants you alone he thinks he can be more himself with you if his alone with you.” “So not watching me say goodbye to any of you, is that what you mean?” “I really don’t know he just said he will phone you tomorrow and let you know he will see you at the Gala and what time he will pick you up Wednesday.” “Oh, why didn’t he tell me?” “Sorry love I don’t know but he will phone I just thought I’ll tell you rather than you going home tomorrow getting ready and he never pitch.” “Does that mean I get more time with you?” “Just a little we can have breakfast together and then I’ll take you back to Enzo’s place.” “Oh.” “Why you wanted more time with me?” he asked like he was shocked. “Off course I would always want more time with you.” “Oh.” He said it like he was surprised.
We both got up took a shower and went down stairs. “You want to go take a walk in the garden before there is nothing left?” He asked me. “Yes, that would be nice.” “Just grab something warm it’s quite chilly outside.” I grabbed my jacket and took John’s hand “Okay I’m ready.” We walked in the garden he had the most beautiful garden then I remembered my dream. And without me even thinking I started to talk about it. “You know what I had a dream when we were away, I think I told you not to wake me.” “I remembered what was the dream about?” “About me laying on the grass and there were a few kids running around me, all mine.” “Oh really?” I didn’t know how John felt about kids but I already said what I said. “Yes, really and it was so peaceful and lovely that is why I didn’t want you to wake me.” “I’m sorry.” “What do you remember about the kids?” I looked at him a bit surprised “You want kids someday?” “To be honest I never really gave it much thought but now that you are mentioning it and the kids has you as a mother then yes, I want kids.” I didn’t know what to say. “And now are you speechless?” “Mmmmm, I’m not sure, I mean even I never thought of having kids until that dream.” “Oh really?” “John come on, the way I grew up? Why would I want children? The best I could dream off was to have a house with a white picket fence have a husband that adores me and then just maybe a kid. I never ever dreamed I’ll have this or have money that was the furthest thing from my mind.” John pulled me towards him and hugged me “Well now you have 3 men that loves and adores you and all the money in the world.” “You see why that is so hard for me to comprehend I never dreamed this would be my life.” “Well, my love it is and now you can just make the best out of it.” “That is true and believe me I’m grateful, grateful I don’t have to worry about money anymore but even more grateful that I have 3 amazing men by my side.” “I love you, Cat.” John said kissing my head. “I love you to John.”

I was confusing myself with this Nico thing I wanted her to get a long with him but in the back of my mind I was thinking if she didn’t get along with him and it didn’t work it would mean more time for the rest of us. It caught me off guard that that decision happened so quickly I mean a week ago I would have never ever thought of kicking one of us to the curb and today it was like I was encouraging it. I need to get my head back in the game but then Cat talked about children and I was back to I wish Nico fucked up. Was I being a bad friend? Fuck yes but for some reason I didn’t want to share her with him, he had his chance and he blew it. I took Cat back inside and made a fire I grabbed a blanket and a few pillows and threw them in front of the fireplace. “Come let’s sit here for a while.” I helped Cat to sit then went to sit with her. She laid down with her head on my lap. I started to play with her hair. “This is nice.” She said as I played with her hair. “What me playing with your hair or the fire place.” “Both.” She said closing her eyes. “It is nice, just to be sometimes.” “It is.” Francesca came as if I called her. “John, I thought you guys will enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.” “Oh yes.” Cat got off from my lap and took the glass. “Thanks Francesca.” “Just a pleasure Cat.” It seems Cat has even the staff wrapped around her finger. “Saluti.” We both said before we took a sip of the best hot chocolate.
