Chapter Thirty Two
As Henry watched Sky approach him with a confident stride, a sly smile curved his lips. He clapped his hands together, the sound echoing in the room, before turning his gaze towards Angel.
"You must have some connections," he remarked, his tone laced with sarcasm.
Angel met his gaze steadily, her expression unreadable. "You must be stupid enough not to know that the locket on your neck had a spy camera in it. And also, there are some micro bugs on our Queen," Vin replied coolly, his voice carrying a hint of menace.
A slow clap emanated from Henry as he rose from his seat, his eyes glittering with amusement. "Bravo," he exclaimed mockingly, his applause dripping with condescension.
"I'm still surprised you got married to the daughter of the person who murdered your parents and conducted experiments on you and your brother," Henry continued, his laughter echoing through the room like a sinister melody.
Angel's gaze flickered towards Sky, a flicker of weakness betraying her stoic facade. She could feel her life force slowly draining away, the crimson liquid pooling beneath her hands in a macabre tableau.
In the tense silence that followed, the weight of unspoken truths hung heavy in the air. Secrets long buried threatened to surface, their tendrils reaching out to ensnare the unsuspecting. As Angel struggled to maintain her composure, the room seemed to blur around her, the world tilting on its axis.
In that moment, amidst the chaos and uncertainty, Angel's resolve hardened like steel. She would not allow herself to be defined by her past or shackled by the sins of her forebears. With a steely determination, she squared her shoulders and met Henry's gaze head-on.
"Stay away from my bride," Sky's voice rang out like a clarion call, cutting through the suffocating atmosphere like a beacon of hope. His words carried a weight of conviction, a promise of unwavering protection.
"Now don't get too worried," Henry declared, his voice dripping with malice. "I will just drain all her blood, and you can drink it with us."
Sky's heart sank at the chilling words. He knew what Henry was capable of, but the thought of drinking human blood filled him with disgust. He shook his head, trying to push back the nausea threatening to overwhelm him.
"She is a vampire, Henry!" Sky snapped, desperation creeping into his voice. "She is your queen!"
But Henry just laughed, a cold, mocking sound that sent shivers down Sky's spine. "Not mine!" he sneered, his eyes narrowing in disdain.
Vintage, standing beside Henry, chuckled darkly. "Shut your trap," he snapped at Sky, his voice laced with contempt.
The air crackled with tension as Sky's commanding voice sliced through the silence. "Let her go!" he ordered, his eyes blazing with determination.
Henry, merely chuckled in response, his dark laughter echoing off the walls of the dimly lit room. "You can't order us around!" he retorted, his voice dripping with arrogance. "Besides, isn't Nina your girl, Vin? If I kill her, will you feel hurt?" With a cruel grip on Nina's hair, he yanked her upright, a malicious grin twisting his lips.
Vin's heart clenched at the sight of his beloved Nina in danger. "Don't harm her!" he and Marcus exclaimed simultaneously, their voices laced with desperation.
"Oh, how touching," Vintage sneered, his gaze flicking between the two men. "Fighting for one lady," he mocked, his tone dripping with disdain.
Fury boiled within Vin as he demanded answers. "What did you do to her?" he growled, his fists clenched at his sides.
Henry's smirk widened as he casually replied, "Just knocked her out," before callously shoving Silver, who crumpled to the ground with a pained cry.
"Silver!" Ray's anguished cry pierced the air, his eyes wide with horror as he watched his friend fall.
Henry's response was chillingly indifferent. "Injected her with a silver substance," he admitted casually, his gaze cold and unyielding.
With a primal roar of rage, Ray launched himself at Henry, his fists swinging wildly as he sought to avenge his fallen comrade.
The room erupted into chaos as the fight exploded into motion. Sky lunged at Henry, their bodies colliding with bone-jarring force as they grappled with each other. Henry's strength proved formidable as he effortlessly tossed Sky against the wall before delivering a punishing blow.
Meanwhile, Gun seized the opportunity to untie the captive girls, his nimble fingers working quickly to free them from their bonds. But his efforts were thwarted when he reached Angel, his heart sinking at the sight of the silver restraints binding her wrists.
"Ahhh!" Angel cried out in agony, her voice a raw expression of pain that sent a shiver down Sky's spine.
"Sky! Watch out!" Her voice pierced through the air, a desperate plea for his safety. But before Sky could react, before he could even comprehend the danger that loomed behind him, it was Vin who acted.
With a selfless instinct, Vin pushed Sky out of harm's way, taking the brunt of the attack himself. The sickening sound of metal meeting flesh echoed in the air, followed by a pained cry that tore through Nina's soul.
"Vin!" Her voice cracked with anguish, tears blurring her vision as she saw him fall to the ground, clutching his chest where the silver dagger had struck.
Nina's legs felt like jelly beneath her, threatening to give way at any moment as she dropped to her knees beside Vin's trembling form. She reached out, her hands shaking as they found his, clinging to them desperately as if holding on for dear life.
"Vin..?" Her voice was barely a whisper, choked with emotion as she struggled to find the words. "Please, don't leave me," she pleaded, her voice breaking as she fought to hold back the tears that threatened to overwhelm her.
"I'm sorry," Vin's voice was weak, barely audible above the chaos that surrounded them. He squeezed her hand gently, his eyes filled with regret and pain. "I never meant for any of this to happen."
Nina's heart shattered at his words, her chest aching with the weight of his suffering. "I love you, Vin," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "Please, don't die on me."
But even as she spoke, she knew that time was running out. Vin's strength was fading, his breaths coming in shallow gasps as he struggled to hold on to consciousness.
"Nina, you need to find someone else," Vin's voice was barely a whisper, his words a desperate plea for her to let go, to find a way to save herself.
But Nina refused to listen, refusing to let go of the only person who had ever truly cared for her. She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him close as if her embrace alone could keep him alive.
"Go, release Angel!" Kevin's voice cut through the haze of despair, a reminder of the danger that still loomed over them.
But Vivi's panicked voice rose above the chaos, her fear palpable as she faced the looming threat. "Why can't you do it? Do you want them to suck my blood?!" she cried, her words a desperate plea for salvation.
"Do you want me to die?" he asked, his eyes pleading with Vivi's.
Confusion clouded Vivi's expression as she tried to make sense of his words. "She is chained with silver," Kevin explained, his voice tinged with desperation. Vivi's eyes widened in realization, a flicker of fear dancing in their depths.
"Don't worry, I will protect you," Kevin assured, his tone firm and resolute. But Vivi's suspicion lingered, etched into the furrow of her brow as she shook her head in disbelief.
"You wanted to taste my blood, I'm sure you will hand me to your vampire friends," Vivi accused, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and anger. Kevin rolled his eyes, frustration evident in his movements as he took hold of her arm and guided her towards Angel.
True to his word, Kevin stood between Vivi and the hungry vampires, a shield against the looming threat. His actions spoke louder than words, a silent promise of protection in the face of danger.
But danger lurked closer than they realized. Vintage's voice pierced the air like a dagger, filled with grief and rage. "You guys murdered my girlfriend! Your Queen murdered my girlfriend!" she screamed, her words echoing off the stone walls.
With a swift motion, Vintage hurled a dagger at Angel, a weapon fueled by vengeance and despair. But Kevin was quicker, his reflexes honed by years of survival in this unforgiving world. He caught the dagger mid-air and hurled it back at Vintage with deadly accuracy.
Vintage dodged the blade with a grace born of desperation, but Henry was ready. In one fluid motion, he snatched the dagger from the air and plunged it into Sky's heart. The impact sent them both hurtling through the chamber, their bodies colliding with the stone wall with a sickening thud.
"Sky!" Angel cried out, her voice thick with anguish and despair. But amidst the chaos and confusion, Vivi remained surprisingly calm. With steady hands, she examined the metal chains that bound Angel, her mind racing with possibilities.
"Calm down, I will get you out of this," Vivi reassured Angel
" No you're not!" Vintage tried to grab her but Kevin threw him to the wall. Alf tried attacking Vivi but Gun was fast to catch him and throw him outside flying after him.
" I think I've got it!" Vivi exclaimed.
She twisted the knob Slowly and heard a gasp. She looked up find Kevin between her and the metal. Her eyes went down to his lower abdomen which was Pierced by a spear.
" You are hurt?" She cried
" Go on!" Kevin snapped.
Vivi successful uncuffed Angel who weakly fell in Kevin's arms.
" Sister in law!" Marcus called.
" Let my daughter go or i will kill her!" They heard a growl and turned to face Angel's father.
" Dad" Angel called
" Let my daughter go" Angel's father snapped.
As Kevin gently lowered Angel to the ground, her weakened steps faltered, but before she could collapse, Sky swiftly caught her, preventing her from falling.
"Wow, their connection is amazing!" Isabel exclaimed, her voice tinged with admiration, as she twisted Angel's father's hand and forced him to his knees.
"Isn't that a bit harsh?" Vivi questioned, her concern evident in her voice. Kevin shook his head in response.
"Of course not. What else can you expect from someone who enjoys watching others suffer? I hope you experience the same..." Vivi's words trailed off as she failed to notice the vampire sneaking up behind her.
With lightning speed, Kevin whirled around and, with a pained groan, he intercepted the silver injection meant for Vivi. He swiftly dispatched the vampire, snapping its neck with a decisive twist before collapsing to the ground himself.
"Kevin!" Angel's cry echoed through the room, filled with fear and concern for the man who had just saved her.
